I agree as well. I think the reason people say Burnel's one is better is because one critic wrote on the album booklet that Burnel's version is superior but I don't think it suits the whole album. However if Burnell sings this with a similar voice he put on in Nice in Nice, it may improve it a bit I think. :)

I've always heard this was a superior version but I have to say I prefer the Huge version, the song fits his voice more. The best song on Dreamtime and maybe even my favorite of the 'lighter' Stranglers songs.
