I will try to give you the benefit of the doubt and not call you names but instead point out to you that he was talking via metaphor. He does not really want to drain a literal "swamp" but he was comparing the problems in Washington and the personal attacks on the ticket to a swamp and by saying they would "drain it" he was saying that they would take the strength out of the oppositions' argument, i.e., take the wind out of the sails. Oh crap, I may need to explain that metaphor to you as well.
