  • firstr thing i noticed was a possible wall cloud.. hard to tell on vid but be easy tot ell in person

  • the last time tallahassee florida had a tornado it was also dark but i pretty much kept on eye on the trees around me to see which way the tornado was moving

  • this is the most terrible video I have ever seen of a 'tornado' or 'lowering'. Chasing after dark or around sunset is a poor poor poor idea. Dean and N5351A are 100% correct. on everything. and stormchasedotcom also. Someone in the chasing community got ahold of your group and theyre draggin MIDSCAR thru the mud and I guarantee with that and seeing this video you wont be having any respect in the chasing community ever.

"OH Hell Look at that" Look at what?!?! 4:16.....Epic Fail.

  • You really think this is the most terrible video you have ever seen? I've seen a LOT worse so you need to look around before you say stuff like that. Whoever is "dragging my name through the mud" has no right to. I've done NOTHING wrong in my opinion, and several others would share that thought with me

  • Yes. It is. Its that terrible. You get a razzie for worst acting ever in a movie. Maybe you and your buddy Richard Heene can have a talk about storm chasing.

The fact is this, your buddy James called out Chad Cowan a veteran storm chaser, and made an a** of himself on the storm chasing forums. your drawing of a "new" TIV has also got everyone in an uproar. Needless to say, your own dad posted that you went on a highway the wrong direction on a chase. Need we say more? No. blacklisted.

  • Ok the TIV idea being brought up was my fault. I have an extreme passion for tornadoes and I got a little carried away. Its something i'm NOT going to tempt for a long time. I'd rather have a long life.

As for driving the wrong way down the road, if i have my days right, that was in may of 2008? and that was an onramp (no cars nearby). I have MUCH more experience now than i had last year with much more to learn. I know it doensnt make it right but what's done is done :-(

  • alrighty, thanks for the post on stormtrack. good to see the err of your ways. we are more forgiving than most on there. As I have said in other places, your buddy james with his big mouth is going to get you in trouble with the storm chasing community. Im just warning you now, we see people like him ALL the time and the farther you run away the better for your reputation in the present and future.

  • I have to agree, this is terrible. The commentary is horrible, these people have no business being out there. No clue what they're even looking at. Yet they want to be known as "Storm Chasers & Researchers".

  • Pokerguy's a fucking tard. I'm guess the 17 at the end of his name is his age so I'm guessing the "I'm a met student" and "Trained spotter" is pure bullshit. If you want to think I know nothing about chasing go right ahead, but you'll be dead wrong. I'm looking forward to the day every chaser in the country is watching the best tornado of the decade but pokerguy and MIDSCAR are missing it cus they think the rainshaft they're looking at is the tornado

  • You need to eat your own words bud. You may think I don't know shit about chasing but I do. Think what you want though

  • And about his age...does that mean i'm 1 year old since I have a 1 in my screen name? I don't think so. Think before you say anything, and quit insulting my and others intelligence. As i said on your channel, i'll take constructive criticism but not insulting my intelligence which is what you've been doing

  • Wow someone needs some training. Even if you didn't report anything you become a danger to yourself and others by being on the road with not knowing what you are doing. btw an anemometer does not provide any valued research data, there is plenty of it around, already happening. The last thing that is needed is a 17 year old on the road trying to chase.

  • The anemometer is for US so we can report EXACT wind speeds instead of estimated ones. I may be 17 but I know what i'm doing thank you very much. I'm not a danger to ANYONE on the road. In fact...a citizen thanked us for being there. He stopped as he saw us sitting there and we TOLD him there MAY be a tornado back there. And that a funnel cloud was reported a few minutes ago. Don't insult my intelligence

  • please don't report things unless you know what you're looking at. PLEASE learn to chase before trying to do a public service, false alarms are already a problem. Just because you saw someone on TV in an intense situation doesn't mean you have to pretend every rain-free base is a wall cloud with an imminent tornado. You're hurting more than you're helping. Seriously.

  • I never reported anything, but other chasers close-by did. Not sure where you got the impression I reported anything. I know what i'm doing so saying I don't isn't true. I am more than willing to show you accreditation of what I've done so i am being a service to the public instead of hurting it

  • Also, I'm curious about what part of the storm you were viewing. Were you in the downdraft area, getting bombarded by gust fronts or were you in the updraft area?

  • If I remember correctly we were in the updraft area. I'm pretty sure the wind was coming from behind us if I remember the storm right

  • Yeah, I think I remember seeing the grass moving away from you towards the storm, which would indicate some sort of inflow or updraft.

  • What a spectacular storm! :) I can tell you, being a trained storm spotter with the NWS and a meteorology student, there was something shady going on in those areas. Now whether it was a tornado or a rainshaft, was hard to determine since this was at night and night chasing is hard. You did a good job covering the storm and these noobs saying you have to take a training class need to shut the fuck up.

  • Just because a funnel was spotted 10 miles away doesn't mean that what you're looking at is a funnel. I second the spotter training. Just sayin'.

  • I took the spotter training last year, take it every two years

  • Spotter training doesn't make you a good chaser.

  • No it doesn't but I helps you know what your looking at. In this case there were funnel clouds that WAS caught on my video

  • OMG, it's a rainshaftnado! ;)

Seriously, you guys should attend an NWS spotter training class or, at the least, read a few books on the subject. It's clear you have no idea what you're looking at, nor do you understand the terms you're using to narrate the video.

  • If you didn't notice, it was getting dark and hard to see. Also, this storm was tornado warned with funnel clouds spotted about 10 minutes before this video. This WAS the same storm that spawned the Kirksville tornado so we were keeping our eye out. We know what we're looking at...we've all taken basic and advanced spotter classes
