I dunno, i actually enjoyed XIII's combat system much, much more. I think chaining and paradigm shifts add further elements of strategy rather than what i call "bash n' heal" which was all i got out of the others. Some great stories, though.

yes the 360 gpu is a little better, but it's cpu is a general purpose cpu as opposed to the cell which was designed for gaming type computations. that's why you don't see anything like uncharted and killzone on 360.

This game will suck because IT IS LINEAR. You walk from room to room and you can't even go back to previous maps. If they're hoping the pretty visuals will be enough top blind fans to this major flaw, they're in for a surprise on launch day. I'm buying Mass Effect 2 and red dead redemption instead.
The point is square enix is going backwards from an open wold like they had in FFXII to a linear one way trip in FFXIII. In that respect, Western RPGs have done a lot more to evolve the genre while the Japs are sitting there with the same old formula expecting their piles of cash.

well a friend of mine who lives in japan, made some vids of the gameplay and a little one of the story, so i know about the graphic, the illustration and the story a bit more than some trailers can say. because most of the offical trailers are cut scenes or short battles, but you don't have a picture of the real gameplay.

Oh, and mandatory HDD instals are once per game. Disc swaps depend on how many discs there are. PS3...one 5 minute HDD installation. 360....your swapping 3 discs over the course of 1 game. But...it's whatever.

I don't know, it looks visually beautiful, but aside of the visuals and the story, the game sounds...disappointing. I'm a huge fan of all the FF games, but so far I've heard that there's going to be zero towns, almost completely linear dungeons, and you can only control one character in battle, and if that one character dies, even if your other party members are alive, it's game over.
I don't know, I'll just have to wait and play it to see how it works, but it doesn't sound very promising.

Compression, in this particular scenario, is never good for quality. You're losing some frame rate, bit rate, the sound isn't as clear and crisp....and the visuals aren't as clear and crisp, either. I'll bet the 360 version doesn't even upscale to 1080p. My overall point is...the differences between the 2 may be very trivial...but they do exist, nonetheless.
Although it's awesome to have great graphics, I'm not as anal and spoiled about it as all of u. I don't give a crap about 360 or ps3, I'll be happy just to play it. It's funny how tiny visual differences can totally diminish some player's enjoyability. God damn, princess.
The PS3 version runs 720p just like the XBox 360 version. 30 FPS locked.
The X360 has a hardware scaler that scales almost any game to 1080p. So yes there will be upscaling support.
The Xbox 360 is very good at compression and there is usually very little quality loss. In a matter of fact most multiplatform games need ot be compressed on the Xbox 360 yet they usually look better than the other console versions.

it was originally 4 the ps3 there is no way they would take it away from sony and plus i have it reserved for the ps3 and its just like i said there is 3 discs for this game on the 360 meaning the game has to much memory for one 360 disks but ps3 blue ray can spport that into one disc

well a friend of mine who lives in japan, made some vids of the gameplay and a little one of the story, so i know about the graphic, the illustration and the story a bit more than some trailers can say. because most of the offical trailers are cut scenes or short battles, but you don't have a picture of the real gameplay.

HDD installs do not improve the graphics. They improve load times.

Oh, and mandatory HDD instals are once per game. Disc swaps depend on how many discs there are. PS3...one 5 minute HDD installation. 360....your swapping 3 discs over the course of 1 game. But...it's whatever.

A disc swap takes like 10 seconds. While an install may take up to 5-10 minutes.
And there are some games like MGS4 where you have multiple installs through out the game.
By the time a PS3 owner gets down with an install an Xbox 360 owner would have been through the opening scene already.

Almost all the other FF games have been multiple discs dude. Is Final Fantasy 13 going to be the first FF you've ever played?
3 discs are better than 10 minute HDD installs (sometimes multiple like in MGS4). Besides, each disc will take you around 20 hours to finish, are you seriously going to play the game 60 hours straight? No, your just bitching for the sake of justifying your purchase.

I don't know, it looks visually beautiful, but aside of the visuals and the story, the game sounds...disappointing. I'm a huge fan of all the FF games, but so far I've heard that there's going to be zero towns, almost completely linear dungeons, and you can only control one character in battle, and if that one character dies, even if your other party members are alive, it's game over.
I don't know, I'll just have to wait and play it to see how it works, but it doesn't sound very promising.

It's semi-turn based.
so it's like a mix of the previous Final Fantasies and kingdom hearts. I think.

In a way, yes.
It acts like FF12, but it has certain things like previous Final Fantasies.
It has an ATB gauge, but it works a bit different. Instead of having one, you have three.
Each action you make determines how many gauges are taken to use that action.
You can act multiple times as long as you time your actions.

Compression, in this particular scenario, is never good for quality. You're losing some frame rate, bit rate, the sound isn't as clear and crisp....and the visuals aren't as clear and crisp, either. I'll bet the 360 version doesn't even upscale to 1080p. My overall point is...the differences between the 2 may be very trivial...but they do exist, nonetheless.

Although it's awesome to have great graphics, I'm not as anal and spoiled about it as all of u. I don't give a crap about 360 or ps3, I'll be happy just to play it. It's funny how tiny visual differences can totally diminish some player's enjoyability. God damn, princess.

The PS3 version runs 720p just like the XBox 360 version. 30 FPS locked.
The X360 has a hardware scaler that scales almost any game to 1080p. So yes there will be upscaling support.
The Xbox 360 is very good at compression and there is usually very little quality loss. In a matter of fact most multiplatform games need ot be compressed on the Xbox 360 yet they usually look better than the other console versions.

If it makes you feel any better, despite what Square Enix have said...there will be a slight difference between the PS3 and 360 ports. 360 will be COMPRESSED on 4 DVD's and PS3 will be UNCOMPRESSED on one Blu Ray. Another lie. Sony is planning a "Premium" online service, for a fee. The standard FREE PSN will always be available. This has been stated and cleared up several times. And what constitutes a "better online experience?" A party chat, in game voice chat where I can be bugged by every 13 yr old douche that I'm online with? Rechargeable batteries? LOL. This ain't the stone age! OMG. And don't even talk about Natal. That alone, is an embarrassment to the PS EYE...which came first.
