  • I think that a Good benchmade like a griptillian or 58x Is the only folder you would ever need.

  • @jstlookin48 Exactly

  • Is it just me, or does the design of the second knife bear a striking resambalance to a Tom Mayo custom?

  • I have the black one in the middle, it is the sharpest damn knife ive ever owned.

  • The key is getting a good quality sharpener like the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker and knowing how to use it properly. I know there are other sharpener that some will prefer but getting a decent sharpener will keep your blade sharp and your knife very functional and enjoyable to use. Spydercos, Benchmades, Kershaws, SOGs, are some of the best knives around. Nice video, thumbs up.

  • I agree CRKT is a good value but, personally, I think the Ti-Lite is way over priced. I like my Kudu from Cold Steel: about 1/20 the price of a Ti-Lite, same scale material, excellent lockup, it can be made razor sharp and it will keep that edge quite a while. It is not a one-hander for opening, but I can live with it.

  • Well that's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Thanks for the over-waffling....

  • @CannabisDelux Thank you man I appreciate it.

  • @cutlerylover what kin of knives are those called?

  • Do you have any recommendations for edc blade for civilians? Among all the high quality knives, it seems like you have to be military or police.

  • @lazarra101 Take a look at the sanrenmu knives. they are chinese made but they come from the same factory as most chinese buck, spyderco, boker etc. they also use the same steel. they are very cheap but can compete with a lot more pricy knives. but you do have to import them since they are only for the asian market ^^ i buy mine of ebay, i am from the eu and it takes only 2 weeks (most of the time) for my knives to get here. (i use them as beater knives)

  • There's a benchmade 42 custom made of damascus steel (or damascus looking) for $1800 and it doesn't even have a latch!

  • i just use a fixed blade knife all the time, much more reliable

  • you should of oils all these knives first the are much smother after a good oiling

  • my spiderco delica 4 is fine with me i would rather save the extra 500 dollars on a new gun...

  • 5:45 dont wack ur knives

  • Comment removed

  • you talk so much shit, just get to the point

  • Those knives are in my opinion defective!

  • Combat/defense folders need a solid lock in case the opponent was able to hit the back of the blade, you don't want it hitting you

  • ill just stick with my balisong

  • lol so much hate in my comment lololol

  • Nice intro to knives. A lot of people will find this useful. Vids like this are what make youtube great. Good job.

  • Made in China is also sometimes a automatic no no

  • @Kevinthekiller82 spyderco

  • ada.fmasl;jgog

  • Cold steel Ti-lite FTW .... Love my 6"!

  • The Cold Steel Tri-Ad lock is strong as hell.

  • that video must've been posted before the sanrenmu 710 came out

  • That coldsteel tylight (or whatever it's called) is it legal in Canada? Because it looks like a great knife, and also where can I buy it?

  • @Gonen64 I live in canada, amd I can fill you in. Basically, that cold steel Ti-lite is a 4" model, which is legal in canada. Any longer and it is illegal to carry concealed. That being said, I carry my 6" Ti-lite everywhere. Best damn knife I have ever owned(and I own a lot). I suggest the real TiLite with the aluminum handle rather than the other modle with the plastic(i think they call it zypher or something). As far as leingth, it is up to the carrier. Just dont get searched with the 6"!

  • @Gonen64 Budk

  • yawn!

  • greatt video yet again cheers for clearing up types of shit knives it will help when i'm buying a knifee

  • knives over a 100 dollar price, just shouldnt be used rough.

  • coold steel scimitar and spyderco military are my both knifes. for 2 awesome knifes. both about 200€ i even cut trees with them for firewood. i dont think that a cheap knife would do this over years. : )

  • When it comes to fixed blade knives, it's all but impossible to beat Mora of Sweden for overall performance at a great price. I did recently pick up a couple of Marttiini of Finland knives that I'm quite impressed with, both for under $25.00 each.

  • what i learned is i dont like any of those knives...

  • .. i have a 30 $ and im happy but max i would pay is 150 $

  • Awww, I was so hoping for that black and wood knife to be a good one...

  • The less expensive knives are great for experimenting with, changing scales, file work or learning how to sharpen without messing up a good blade. Everyone should own a few.

  • @jstlookn48 My learning knife was a Zero Tolerance 0350 which cost me 160$ here.

  • all red series benchmade are chinese lol but so are kershaws and my cold steel recon 1 tanto

  • @pyramonitor benchmade reds are just the discontinued models that they have left.

  • i love ur vids!! :)

  • i seen a very nice custom Japanese knife on ebay for $12,000 it looked great and all but god damn

  • who is going to spend 1000 dollars on a knife? Doland trump?

  • @xXxblqzxXx go to a knife show its common...

  • @cutlerylover

    Lessons learned:

    1. Some people are retarded.

    2. A knife show is not for me. I'll stick with the flea market :D

  • @cutlerylover hey about the lock. you said that you dont realy need it if you handle it correct. but what if you stab something? you dont want to find out that the knife has trouble penetrating and closes on your fingers. so I think you do need a lock, always.

  • @cutlerylover Last time I went to a knife show, I scored a free CQC 10 from Ernie Emerson.

  • @xXxblqzxXx Hehe, i'm guessing he's a knife collector :)

  • @xXxblqzxXx

    Who the fuck is Doland?

And no, knife collectors, hunters, survivalists and outdoorsmen. Weird, that almost seems like... COMMON SENSE :O eccentric concept right?

  • @xXxblqzxXx Man, your smart like Norman Einstein. Lol

  • @xXxblqzxXx Look up the name Jay Fisher. He is always busy making knives for clients and I think $1000 doesn't even cover materials with him.

  • @xXxblqzxXx Donald Trump. capitalize the inicial letters, the guy makes a 60$ million sallary.

  • @xXxblqzxXx How much does a smoker spend on cigarettes in just one year?

  • @xXxblqzxXx Donald Trump

  • @xXxblqzxXx mitt romney

  • @xXxblqzxXx I agree a grand is a lot to spend, but if you take into account the amount of the work that goes into a hand made blade, it is worth it. You are buying a one of a kind functional work of art. Bargains can be found, but if you like it, it may be worth it to you.

  • @xXxblqzxXx Hahaha Doland.

  • @bertocaster What's so funny.. you mean you don't know who Doland Trump is.. duh :P

@cutlerylover In all seriousness cool video, thanks.

  • @xXxblqzxXx Firstly, it's Donald and secondly I carry an $85.00 knife at all times. And I have three $50.00 backup knives.

  • @HRNDONE he said $1000 saying you hava a $85 knife is not going to help any argument.

  • Do you own any switchblades? If so, could you do a review on it. Thanks.

  • @P1MPIN100 He has many reviews on automatics just type in the name of the knife and his username and you can see the review

  • I used to not care about knives, only guns. And then I got into butterfly knives and the name Benchmade got thrown up as a good butterfly knife mfg, now I have sunk $1200+ in knives in the past year thx to TNP and Cutlery Lover

  • i have a 1 dollar knife from walmart. i use it everyday its great

  • i still love lawks locking mechanisms.

  • fact about pocket knifes if it says china anywhere on it more offten then not its a peice of shit

  • @nosoupforyouever15 Spyderco, Benchmade, Gerber, SOG, and Kershaw all make knives from China (not all of their knives though)

  • @JDxBiUE

I think all Benchmade knives are made in the US. They had a short run of Made in China knives, but stopped! Gerber is almost 100% china...

  • @cromartie800 some knives come from tiawan but us is the best knifes

  • @JDxBiUE Wrong. Spyderco manufactures all parts of their knives in Japan. They have a subsidiary corporation called byrd that uses parts made in Japan, but it is ASSEMBLED in china. SOG manufactures in america and Japan, Gerber and Kershaw both are all over the place, And Benchmade manufactured in Japan and assembled in america, with a few exceptions. So it is the opposite. Check the individual websites of these companies if you want any other information.

  • ill take one of the s***y ones

  • now i feel like a spoiled brat with mine ZT 0350... which costed me around 130 dollars, however i had it for almost a year and its a great knife and i love it

  • I like NO blade play and I pry with it.

  • what do you think of the gerber 650? have used one for four years whacking and hacking and have gotten good service except i have to work pretty hard to put a good edge on it

  • @albedran2

You have returned to respond, so you would have to agree that this is a great knife review.

    Enjoy knife reviews responsibly ;)

  • I have a leather man crater c33x i got it for $15 a mec and it has a better blade then my $60 Gerber bear grills ultimate knife.

  • @SuperMajordeath That Bear grylls knife is only 30$ where i live 60$ is too much for it i think

  • @albedran2 you sir are the minority, read the other comments

  • @cutlerylover i wonder what your thoughts are on smith and wesson knives. i had one for a stretch of time till i traded it off (would have preferred to keep it but it was a really good deal and it was a deal breaker). it had a chisel edge and was very cheap ($5 new no joke). man i used to cut wire and card board plastic, you name it and it took it like a champ. good video, no doubt many have learned a thing or two from it.

  • I'd have to be a millionaire to pay 500$ or 1,000$ or more for a single knife. It better be made out of gold to be paying crazy ass prices like that!

  • @donny29dsm you'd have to rob a lot of ppl with your new knife to make it worth it

  • I got the 6 inch so awesome. its as long as my forearm and in 6'5"

  • whats better like a flip knife or a knife that will like always stay open if you get what im saying

  • @futuremarine1211 it depends what for

    For EDC no

for a cool knife to own hell yeah

  • Hey CutleryLover i love your vids i might get my first knife do you reccomend a Ka-Bar Tanto full sized???

  • your vids are really cool ill sub and like

  • Would u consider AUS8 a good steel.

  • @ssswami6998 Yes AUS8 is a good strong steel imho. vg10 is also a good steel, generally alittle more expensive. The nice thing about buying good brands like those listed in other posts is they almost always use good blades. Spyderco and Benchmade's steel picks are usually my favorites.

  • the black on thats close to the white is a Coldt Steal Hi perfomans Buck knife and i have one of those...and have cut my self...3 times on it...

    RIP

    My fingers

  • hi.

i live in dubai so i have limited access to knives.

now im like 14 so i cant have a knife and NOT intimidate people.

    so the smaller the better.

would you say that a gerber evo jr. is a nice edc option?

    please reply.

  • stanley knives are the best

  • @Coolduderoan Every met my friend, STANLEY ching ching ching slice slice

  • Excellent video, very informative.

  • forget everything!get the freakin stainless steel

  • i prefer carbon steel blades to stainless because the carbon steel is easier to sharpen and also holds the edge and sharpness of the blade longer than stainless steel.

  • i bought a cheap $3.00 knife and i think its ok but it didnt have any drawbacks you said it to be a "bad knife"

  • benchmade and spyderco FTW

  • I would say these are the most reliable company's for folding knives... and other products

    Gerber

SOG (Though I must say, the Sogfari machete is bad)

    Ka-bar

  • @Meixafuhellzman2 helle.

  • @Meixafuhellzman2 Kershaw... Victorinox.... Benchmade... Spyderco.... Much better knives in the affordable option category with far better steel and better designs. IMO.

  • @IKSDoomie Spyderco and Kershaw I agree, for personal reason's I dislike Benchmade, I haven't heard of Victorinox before.

  • @Meixafuhellzman2 I've had some bad experiences with my Benchmade also.

  • @Meixafuhellzman2 Swiss army knives :P Benchmade is overpriced.

  • bought myself a $40.00 buck gut hook and its the best one ive ever had

  • i have had a normark super swede since 1982 and still use it

  • i have carried a old barlow folding knife my grandpa gave me 20 years ago and it has yet to let me down....

  • are those assisted blades...

  • As someone who's carried 30 dollars knives on a camping trip with guys using 300 dollar knives, I can tell you with absolute certainty that cost is NOT automatically an indicator of quality or utility. It has more to do with style and the economic situation. Same reason Glock can make quality guns at a low price.

Kershaw and Spyderco both make a line of reasonably priced folders that are well built, sturdy, and hold a good edge. Some are even truly rustproof if they use the right steel like H1.

  • my L.L. Bean swiss army has now lasted 40 years AND has the ORIGIONAL tweesers and toothpick :)

  • not vertical, its side to side, and back and forth, vertical, or up and down blade play would be just that, the blade moving towards where the tip points

  • wtf do you have like the force in your hands and you made the knife tremble in 00:46 O_O

  • Might be that I had one when I was 10 yo. but as for as a cheep knife that works. You can get a buck 110 for $25- 35. works well. been around for ever. only big draw back is its thick. but on your belt? who cares? Umm I just got 12 of them for $100.. stocking stuffers this x-mas for a few friends

  • nice video you have here

    another video is

(how to make money with your knife)

  • @donze52 LOL!!!!!

  • i have no idea what you are talking and i dont know how i ended up watching these videos

  • one thing is for sure. FROST CUTLERY SUCKS ASS

  • and an better lock

  • i have that knife in 2:50 but the hole in the blade wasnt there and also no wood

  • question: i was going to buy a knife that had a 2 1/2 in blade with 1 in serations but i chose to buy a knife with a 2 1/4 in blade without serations but it was well made but both of the knifes were folding knifes with ones better?

  • I just bought a Emerson Super CQC 7. and I am quite happy with it, if you do some math, my blade was $200. but a crappy $20 knife is going to break and be unreliable, how many times will you be replacing that $20 knife? and if shit happens 1 day you pull your crappy knife and use it the blade snaps off, or the lockup breaks and the blade comes down on your fingers then your sitting there with a bloody sliced open hand and a very pissed off attacker. not worth it IMO. always pays going w/ quality

  • i have a $30 or $40 buck protege 3 and it has no blade play and a very good quality blade so not ALL cheap knives are bad

  • What about a good and bad gun

  • my microtech halo 5 is a great knife for a good price.

  • In this day and age, price is not necessarily an indication of quality; some knives are quite pricey but really perform poorly. There are many very good knives, but there are many more that are garbage; you really have to know your stuff to avoid getting ripped off.

  • @JohnnyAppleTv strap on my freind.. lol

  • @JohnnyAppleTv You'll remain a virgin and or never have sex again? Also you would probably die, there would be severe trauma and blood loss.

  • Just buy the cols steel bushman its a great and really cheap knife.

  • Well if you wanna give me that first knife i wouldnt complain lol you can send it to me thru the mail lol

  • ka-bar $50-100......... best knife ever

  • @mrbrandonownz

And by what do you define a knife as "best knife ever?"

Everything done right has it`s place in life.

  • 00:46 did the second knife vibrate?

  • @TheDonvinnie looks like its floating

  • @TheDonvinnie wow you're right, that's weird!

  • @TheDonvinnie LOLWTF? It looks like it did!

  • @TheDonvinnie yeah it have an vibrate mode for the womens ;) you know self defense and mastrubate at the same time xD

  • @TheDonvinnie OMG IT DID! XD

  • @DalisDL He poked it -.-

  • @propcomicdoinyourmom no, we mean the second one from left to right go to 00:40 and watch the black one

  • @DalisDL OMG I DECLARE WITCHCRAFT!

  • @propcomicdoinyourmom NO WITCHCRAFT!!! POLTERGEIST!!!!! D:!!!! Those racist bastards ._.

  • @TheDonvinnie yes

  • @TheDonvinnie damn thats scary!

  • @TheDonvinnie it did vibrate

  • Comment removed

  • @TheDonvinnie

    It's a secret vibrator!

    XD

  • @TheDonvinnie Yes, because the knife is actually a phone, and someone was calling him.

  • @TheDonvinnie 00:46 The knife shivered with excitement because it recieved praise from it's master.

Can you honestly say you wouldn't?

  • @ihaterobbie123 x::D::: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @TheDonvinnie It vibrated because he touched it

  • LOL to those that dont know knives. yes may be more expensive but wait until u actually get to experience with the knife and really know what the material it was made of. i end up buying a 4" it-lite after getting to mess around with one at work. the exact same one he has in the vid. look up cold steel ti-lite video and ull be amaze what that knife can actually do.

  • @TheBlooMonster

    Totally know what you mean.

My Spyderco police model still works fine after years of usage.

  • well im a knife collector and i have never spent over $100 on one knife and every one of them are good knives yes there are some i rather use then others just for safety like you were talking about i dont like a lot of blade play but i can deal with some now not all cheep knives are bad knives i bought a $1 dollar knife and it out lasted my $50 knife the $1 knife supposed to be a no brad piece of crap but it turned out better then my buck brand knife yes i know buck is also a cheepo but still

  • ive been wanting a knife so bad but i dont have money :(

  • I love how he only tests the "Bad knives" And not the good ones.

  • I got a really good butterfly kninfe for 5 dollars. -_- its better than all of these.

  • 2 dollar frost sar tactical is my favorite cause i can beat the crap out of it :p

  • my good knives are fixed blade knight

  • This might be a stupid question, but what's the use of the holes in the hilts of those knives?

  • @EclipseDante maybe it makes them more balanced?

  • @EclipseDante i would guess that it makes a little more grip than a smooth handle but also it reduces weight by removing material

  • i got a knive i got for a dollar works great love it carry it every day
