NO-ONE is getting heroin into the UK. The afghan crops were 50% destroyed this year by some poppy killing fungus (grown by the CIA me thinks...)

As for methadone....the only 'cure' for addiction...its just disgustingly so bad at its job! Until they start giving out heroin or ibogaine for addicts, things are gonna get worse and worse.

It's actually true. If you do some proper research you'll find that it was originally created by Nazi scientists because they were going into war & couldn't get enough morphine in fupply for the troops etc, so they created methadone, originally called Dolphine.

I thought it was maybe an urban legend when I first heard that, like nazi scientists creating fluoride, but it's actually a known fact. I got my father to reasearch it-he works for the gov. in a gov. library & he found it's true too.

I hear you 100% im in the same shoes. Its obvious what there motives are when they take you off vikes ors oc's and put you on methadone. ever since i have been on the dones it seems like i have become quite anti-social and never want to leave my "safe zone" And they say this drug will make your life normal again. And after quitting cold turkey a year ago and going through hell only to get back on them has put the fear of withdrawal over everything else. methadone is nothing more than a prison.

Not to mention that the whole done industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, whereas they can't really patent Iboga(they take out the alkaloid ibogaine from the root Iboga-they can't patent a naturally occuring plant molecule)...& Iboga/Ibogaine is, for the most part, a once off treatment. Whereas the other shit keeps you hooked to the gov etc for life.

It's sad that big pharma is more interested in money for their shareholders than in getting & keeping people well.

it's big, but it's NOTHING compared to drugs like viagra, etc. A one month supply of methadone, on average, is only $120. Have you seen the prices of some big pharma's BIG moneymakers? antivirals, cholesterol, depression drugs, viagra, etc

ask most pharmacists, methadone isn't a huge money-maker in itself. it's the daily dispensing fees, piss tests, and associated appt. costs (often paid to pharmacy/doctors by government) that add up, so in that respect, yeah it makes money

@stok3d99 120? I'd switch pharmacies you can get it WAY cheaper than that. Methadone is incredibly cheap to manufacture and since it's generic, they don't charge that much for it. You're right, like 90% of the money in a methadone clinic is from administrative fees.

I know, I really don't understand it either. It's 2009 and people still say gay as if that's an insult.
