  • this is so hilariously bad. it just so cheesy and filled with bad 80's special effects. foxbodies are superior to these in everyway, but damn " take a turn grab a gear" and the guy surfing is just legendary.

  • I know so many people who had 80's F-body cars with the 700R-4 and those trannys were junk. The rear ends were garbage too, both would blow up around 70-80 thousand miles. I do love the GTA's and the BBS wheels made the whole car. Plus the 305 was a joke, the Fox 5.0's walked all over them. The 350 TPI should of been the standard engine.

  • @cudaphil Agreed on the TA/GTA aesthetics - in good shape, those *still* look current (and have aged better than the '90s redesign, oddly enough). Not so sure on the 305 vs 350 issue, though - mileage was pretty important then (as it is now), plus, it's not like one could take either car over 55 mph, back then anyway! The best "all-rounder" for the era would have been if they'd offered the 4-cylinder with a light turbo, plus a 5-speed stick: all the speed you'd need + good mpg and insurance #s!

  • @nasw Then the 89 Pace car T/A with the 3.8 Turbo (GNX) Motor is the right car for you. The last time I saw one for sale was about 10 years ago and the guy was asking like $17,000 for it I think. Super low miles. A bit over priced I thought.

  • The 1980s were great, miss those days. People 30 years from now will look back at 2011 and say the same thing: what the hell was up with people in 2011, time and styles change its a fact of life.

  • My 2002 Camaro isn't all that bad in the winter. Once you get use to them, it makes winter driving fun. You know that the rear end is gonna kick out a little. Finding good all season tires is key to keeping things from going insane with the winter slip-n-slide ride.

  • Why is everybody talking about nissan? Why are ppl even commenting if you dont like these cars. I love these cars, and have personally owned a few i cant imagine owning a nissan or honda. You either love f bodys or you dont.

Yes they made more 3rd gens than they did 4th gens, but ppl criticize these for being mullets or ghetto cars. They were never like that, ppl back then bought them, then drove the shit out of them. These are actually the most reliable cars if they are cared for.

  • @91TransAmKid You got that right. I had no problems with my 1986 IROC i got around year 2000. Minor care stuff every year tune ups tranny flushes things like that but the car never left me stranded. I still have my IROC and want to fix her up if time and money will prevail. I really miss driving that car nothing beat the attention it got wether it be positive or negitive (police love them).

  • @makingnamesisfun You got the carb or tpi 305? Had a 86 TA once and it wasnt real fast because of the downsized cam. But once i got high flow runners, bigger injectors, throttle body and ported the entire intake, fuel pump, rebuilt the motor which i (highly modified) aftermarket heads that were ported, put a better cam in it, pretty much all the goodies and i was running with ls1s and that sucker would haul ass. i miss it but had to sell due to needing a truck. Dont let that IROC go

  • @91TransAmKid It's the TPI 305 that motor started first try I thought it was quite reliable car. Car has been sitting since 07 things slowly started going on it like guages not reading correctly anymore. It needs body work around the wheel wells and such I plan on doing that soon stopping all the rust on it. I started ripping up the interior and floor pans look good only a small hole near the rocker arm, and i heard thats a common spot. Little by little and shell run again.

  • @Stridersng1 lol pwn that ricer

  • in the nissan world it stands for awsome in american muscle its the same thing!

  • Take a curve , grab a gear, runnin strong, now your queer. That girl looks strung out on heroin.

  • The Gal looking 0:48 back when the IROC starts up was pretty cool. All Camaros have that racer sound. Don't know if the new ones inherited that feature also.

  • iroc with 350 big block tpi form the corvette it was fassssttt as hellll

  • what does the Z stand for

  • The "z" is short for z28. z28 was the original RPO (regular production order) option code for the 1967 camaro produced for racing in the original trans am race series in the 60's and 70's. Z28 was the original option code to order the car on the order form.

  • The brunete looks kinda familer. Kinda like Wagner from the current Mercury commercials. But she would have been like 2 in 85.

  • If I lived in 1985, the ad jingles would have made me shoot myself.

  • Lots of IROCs got stolen

  • That may have been before they started putting the security pellet in the starter key.

  • VATS System.... I'm sure they helped some, but nothing stops a tow truck :-D

Once you get the car wherever you want it, you can figure out what kind of VATS key it takes, and just buy one... All you gotta do is walk in a locksmith shop and say "I need a #... VATS Key"

  • I remember there was another iroc commercial that went "IROC IROC IROC, IROC-n-ROLL, (yeah lord) ,IROC IROC IROC-n-ROLL. With a beat so mean, Camaro like thunder, drivin machine, IROC IROC IROC-n-ROLL (repeats)

  • Camaros are fun in the summer but make you pay in the winter. It's love/hate thing with your Camaro. If you drive it in the snow, you'd better have a good set of all-season tires on it. Even with the All-season traction control on, that rear end will wag it's tail.

  • i got a 1985 camaro iroc z i got it for $250

  • Jealous?

  • sure i bet u couldnt afford 1 i bet u drive some beater corolla

  • i baught one running before for 200 bux, and i drive 2 big block 74 monte carlos

  • so are u white trash? if u still bought 1 and u say its white trash.

  • not so much, i bought it as a joke more than anything.

  • thts so funny!

  • I had a friend who had a 86 or so Indy pace car, I wonder what the f that bitch is worth now?!?!

  • it would be a 82 but if its in good condition its worth plenty

  • o my god!!! this car turns me on!!!!!

  • i got a 91 rs with a 305 tbi but im going to swap it with a 383 stroker

  • i ashley z28

  • that girl was hot

  • i felt like i was 3 years old again nice commercial

  • i cant decide whetere to paint my 1987 iroc-z camaro red or white. the red would like nice but i have a red interior, and that just seems like too much red.

  • yes white would look nice with red interior.but paint the car black with black interior and it will look killer.

  • If I could get my hands on a COPO 9561 with the L72 iron block 427, an L88 427, an L78 396, a Pontiac GTO with 389 tri power, 400in Ram Air III or IV engine, you couldn't talk to me lol, but since I'm a late model hot rodder, I'll take an L98 IROC or L69 Q-Jet carbureted 305, bore & stroke the block, port the stock heads & intake, throw in a cam with some decent lift for emissions, I'll be burnin' rubba into the sunset haha.

  • hahah

im the chick in the t top

  • i wanna be a champion

  • I want the 1985 model chick in that commercial

  • she probably looks ugly now

  • The Camaro Iroc-Z 28

Makes you feel like a champion !!!

  • Get a Camaro and screw all the chicks! Car commercials are still the same!

  • LOL. Both the F-Bodies came out in 1967. One was called a Camaro (Chevy) the other was called a Firebird. The actual Trans-Am was released in late 1968 as a 69 model. Chevy followed suit with the now famous COPO 9560s and 9561s. The RS/SS version was released in 67 and 68, with the RPO Z-28 being released in 1969. I never was a big Firebird owner, but have collected quiet a few Camaros, and still have. Let me know when you wanna talk about the Yenkos

  • but the camaro was made frist look it up

  • but the camaro was made first

  • Bandit...you are a dumbfuck. It was the Firebird, moron, not the Trans Am. Trans Am is a FIREBIRD model...The Trans Am came im 1969...you "may" have a 1977 Bandit but it didnt came with a fucking brain.

  • cool im getting a 85 iroc-z t top

  • VRRRRROOOOOMMMM! Nice ride!

  • that was awesome.....before my time but still kicks ass

  • Gotta love the F-body!

  • dude it's true....you idiot. you're smoking some good dope. chevrolet started building them in 1967, firebird started around the same year.....about 7 months before the camaro. go read a book, dumbass.....and I DONT DO DRUGS....THEY'RE FOR LOSERS, LIKE YOU.

  • you must be doing drugs because the camaro came frist

  • I don't do drugs....you might though. drugs are for losers, like you. the camaro came a little after if it came before than it came a couple months before the trans am cuz the first camaro was a 67 as well as the firebird was a 67. I know my cars and really drugs are for losers i dont and will never do drugs.

  • no u dont

  • also good job spelling "FIRST"....

  • the camaro came first u dumb fuck look it up i know more about cars then you

  • no you don't at all. I just said that the camaro came out first but not too much before the trans am they botyh came out in 1967 god you are such a dumbass. you know nothin about cars. go read a book look it up i just did. Camaro came out in 1967 so did the trans am

  • there was no such thing as a trans am then u mean firebird

  • yes i was....and the 77 T/A was more powerful.

  • no actually the camaro came after. so haha to you.

  • New Challenger SRT8 FTMFW

  • the 1st red iroc they showed looks exactly like mine, man i love it

  • tanks chevrolet for this car, realy is the best american muscle car... the camaro

  • actually the Firebird was a little more powerful. either way....there probably the greatest muscle cars ever.

  • the ws6 and gta handled better than just about any 3rd gen camaro, but i'm pretty sure they had the same engines.

  • LOL, I will take a ZL-1, a COPO, or a Yenko over any Trans-Am. The only T/A's I would ever consider owning would be am HO or SD 455. You have a lot to learn about F-Bodies dude. But then again, I am probably a lot older then you.

  • The eighties was a totally fucked time.

  • gotta love those berlinettas, swivel radio, digital dash, t top, my kinda car

  • i miss my iroc! american muscle forever!

  • i have alot of cars on my farm but so far my 88 iroc has never let me down. i doo need to replace the shocks tough.

  • i really like the third gen camaro. i've sold three this year and still own 85 Z28. i would really like to get a 88 89 iroc, but been focusing on a early second gen. i like all camaros.

  • This is a great video... I love the feel of the 80's, shame I was born late for them... oh well.

    Am saving for a 90's Camaro :D

  • I dont really Like the IROC camaros, I like the 98 up Camaros. But the Iroc Camaros make good Drag Racing cars.

  • Not with out a lot of frame work.

  • Ivve owned a few camaros' now... and that commercial made me not want to own another one.

WTF was up with people in the 80s'?

Was everyone really that coked up?

I own a lincoln 96 mark VIII now, and its better in most respects than all but one of my camaros'.

Bah... Camaros are still sweet. Go Lincoln. :)

  • actually in 1985 when that car (iroc) was made -

only the vette was better the vette and iroc were the only usa cars to have 16" wheels in 1985 car and driver magazine rated it very highly - watch my other iroc videos search for racerboyroy iroc

AT THAT TIME nothing handled better on a race course search youtube racerboyroy iroc the 98-up camaros are WAY FASTER on dragstrip and race course except corvette

  • k then IROC came out in 86 ,that is with the 350, that i smoked plety o times witm 305 wit les emis

  • Well like I said, my lincoln is better than all but one of my camaros, I had a 2000 SS Hardtop, that I gave to my ex girlfriend, and she wrote it off. But yeah the gen one through 3 LS1s' are the best ones yet. Well have to see what the new ones are capable of in 2009. But IROCS They just arent strong enough for the kind of punishment I put em through.

  • Actually a Generation one would be the best drag car once you had quad links and sub frames. If had a shorter wheel base and matched up with a powerglide and a 12 bolt, it hooked up excellent. I had a 68 DZ car with a 377 (No bottle) running 10:34s @ 131 mph. Haven't seen a 4th Gen street class come close to that time.

  • Thats so true, but you can probably buy a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation for the same price you'll pay for just one 1st generation.

  • @racerboyroy you forgot another car that was offered with those snazzy 16" rims. It was the Trans Am that year with the WS6 package. The 16" rim was also offered on the 1984 Trans Am 15th Anniversary Edition. Too bad that there were only 1500 of those cars made back then...

    Cheers to ya!

  • you are reaLLY CONFUSED

  • How so?

  • The Iroc-z is one of the most desirable car ever. My 89 iroc makes me feel I'm on holidays every time I drive it (I live in Paris, france). Check that 60's corvette ad that says "twice a day he takes a vacation", this really is how it feels behind the wheel.

  • Well,compared to a Citroen..I guess I understand.

  • irocs for life!! i have an 87 iroc z, im gonna get a long block replacement 350 for it(only has a 305 w/ a shot cam), but i love my iroc, camaros own

  • I had a '85 IROC a few years ago. As a matter of fact I still have the passenger door and sway bar. I miss that car. R.I.P.

  • meh, sure the third gen camaro's look nice on tv but i cant stand the look of the eighties camaro's...all boxy and elongated.

    SECOND GENERATION HUGGERS FOREVER!

  • Darn!!

    I MISS the 80's!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love that 'maro, i wanna a 92 iroc z28, does the iroc come in convertables?

  • Dear "Death666wish", the iroc-z version of the third gen camaro ran from 1985 to 1990. A convertible version was available in 1987. Want to know more, visit iroc-z dot com, the best website onthe subject. Sorry if I made some mistakes in english, I'm french. By the way, the iroc-z is THE ultimate third gen (got one and love it since I saw one back when I was a kid). C'mon, get one!!!

  • i wud get one but i still don't work and i shudn't sell my car cuz i need a reliable one for uni and stuff :p

but are u sure they were just till 90? cuz i think i've seen ones for sale for 92 models, i dunno i guess u'd know better as u own one :p

  • no way dude, they only went up to the 90's problems with licencing or something like that, if it says iroc z and its a 92 then its a fake or the year is wrong, but regaurdless, the iroc z is the best feel ever, ive driven alot of cars, but the irocz is a god!! haha

  • i realize now what the guy ment they were till 90, i ment the third gen, didn't know much about iroc, well i still don't :p

anyway i just got myself a third gen firebird a few days ago, it's messed up but i still love it ;)

  • oh no then you're right, the third gen DID go up to the 92, hehe, dude, awesome choice by the way haha

  • lol, we were both right, but just a misunderstanding in models :p

    thnx man, and it's a t-top too ;)

i did find a trans am today which is a lot better than my formula, very clean inside out while mine's messed up, but i still like mine cuz of the spoiler, i've got the big one, the fiber, the trans doesn't :p

  • haha nah dude, the good thing about the beaten up cars is you get to love them more, cause you fix them up from the ground up, and well you cant do much to a new one, i have a 87 camaro iroc z, it's also very fucked up in the interior, the outside doesnt look very well either haha but little by little its getting to look awesome, plus, looks dont really matter, the engine is a beast and its got alot of mods.

  • haha, lucky u, mine has a screwed up engine and gear too :p

the problem is i don't know anythin about cars, so i won't be workin on it myself, which wud've been cool, but i'm still gonna fix it up with time, just waiting to graduate and start workin, i'll make it as if it just rolled out the dealership ;)

  • Awesom!

  • Bitchin' Dude!! lol

  • I love my '88 IROC Z28. Now I feel like wrenching on my TPI...

  • I bought a brand new 1985 IROC Z because of that commerical. I still have it today and still love as much as always.

  • oh my god!!in tv ads back in the 80's ,they didn't only tried to sell you a product, they made you dream about it!!!

  • i wish i still had my 85 camaro z28...hell of a car...it was used to GIT-R-DONE lol

  • Wasn't it great when they actually had original music for commercials rather than clips of tired rock and roll songs?

  • Awesome, into my favorites!

  • super cool
