can anyone suggest any other materials or audio resources to learning japanese besides pimsleur or rosetta stone which i hear kind of sucks. this is pretty old looking video
Well, I am beginning to lose it here with n+desu, but it's only my first run, not endeavoring too much. I am sure it'll be clearer when I start it again.
i'm definitely still watching. Thanks for these videos. I'm so unbelievably grateful that I found these. With lots of plans revolving around Japan and being a japan obsessed girl since I was 10, Learning the language has become one of my top priorities before I move there in three years as an ALT. Thank you!!
I'm still here. I've seen the entire series once and I'm on my second run. It never eeally gets hard so these folks who drop out have no excuse. Also, kapnkrispy, its NOT a competition. I don't know why but so many people seem to think it is. It actually helps a lot speaking with other non-native speakers because they speak so slowly, clearly and simply. Give it a go!
Yup. People are dropping like flies. Less competition for me :) Actually been learning since XMAS 06 and these skits are a fun way to let all the info "gel" in my mind. Arigato gozaimasu Aploosh san.
What's being said by the nurse at 3:43, after discovering Kaiho's untaken doses? itsumo nan desu ka?

Kaiho reminds me of a more crazy version of my Filipino buddy XDD his facial expressions... hehehe.

what is ryokan?
ai43v3r 2 years ago
RYokan means Inn
phuong2 2 years ago
Because 'itsu' means when. So it becomes 'When did you go?'
If you just say 'Ikimashita n desu ka?' Its just means 'You Went?'
PinkGloom 2 years ago
why the 'itsu' in the "itsu itta n desu ka?"??? im so confused! why not just say "ikimashita n desu ka?"??? or even "itta n desu ka?"??? gargh!!!!

I am telling you seriorsly. Download the ebooks for the series. Use google to find them out.
MatrixOfDynamism 2 years ago
I thought those were taken down, and you can only buy hard copies through the Internet.
RedDragonShard 2 years ago
Or you can download them from the link in the description box in video [1A].
Aploosh 2 years ago
So you can. Last time I checked that there were some issues with the downloading.

I don't get it...
When can I use the form itta + n desu?
Sorry my english is not that good...
xXxSabriiinaxXx 3 years ago 3
the "ta" and "da" forms are non formal and are used around friends, family, or when talking to oneself
Nitsua177 3 years ago
I'm wondering about the same thing. I don't think the "n desu" explanation was very thorough. Maybe it'll be explained better in the next episode.

It's untaken doses of medicine.
The nurse is obviously suspicious and asks him:
Honto ni nonda n desu ka.
Did you really take it?
