Actually the Windward Isles are the eastern boundary of the "Caribbean Sea" Contrary to popular belief, B'dos is actually surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. In marketing the west coast, it is said: "Barbados *faces* the Caribbean Sea" and often this erroneously gets changed to *is on* the Caribbean Sea. No qualms about it though the S. Coast which you were on faces Venezuela, South America and the middle of the N. Atlantic.
I will keep this hotel in mind for a future visit to Barbados. This hotel looks absolutely perfect to me. After all, if the only thing that bothers you at a hotel is the occasional noise from the machinery that runs the place, then that is one fine hotel.

I have travelled the world and have stayed in some very bad hotels. However, the Hilton does not fall into this category. i was there in august 07, i never heard the air con. plus, the only time you see the oil/gas refinery was when you left. staff really nice and helpful. best location on the point, gave a nice breeze so never got too hot. pools and sea v.v.good. food excellent. overall 9.5/10

The Hilton Barbados was amazing when I went in July 2007. The view the guy is commenting on about not being paradise... that's where you go to sign up for scuba diving, swimming with the turtles, snorkeling, surfing, etc etc. I took a couple of those lessons and everyone was so friendly. Our trip was only 4 days long but it was definitely one of my favorites and I recommend it the Hilton Barbados.

I have just got back from Barbados and stayed at the Savannah, which is next door to the Hilton. We walked up the beach to the Hilton and the beach outside the hotel is so beautiful.

I have stayed at the Hilton Barbados twice, and it has never disappointed.
The hotel is clean and modern, the staff are lovely and the views are amazing.

Well done traveltour, I'm sick of those corporate style videos which just show smiling employees, etc. This one is at least made by a normal person making observations. i would rather go the Barbados hilton based on this sort of recommendation rather than some slick, shiny disneyesque brochure in a travel agents office. excellent video.

I have just got back from Barbados and stayed at the Savannah, which is next door to the Hilton. We walked up the beach to the Hilton and the beach outside the hotel is so beautiful.

I went to Barbados a while back I found most of the locals to be rude, hotheaded and downright awful. Dont get lost on that island, you ask the native for directions they hold their hand out for money expecting payment. I didnt think much of Barbados!

There used to be a refinery next door, but it is now closed. In another year, all of the tanks will be removed and further hotel development will take place.

I agree. I think the air conditioners are an extremely minor detail when you look at the bigger picture. And besides, it's Barbados, so I wouldn't and haven't minded about that ever. But overall, it was a very good review, and if I hadn't been there so often before I would definitely would have wanted to go after watching that. Nice work!
