in my opinion the old black tide was a lot better it had better rhythm and you could tell it was black tide playing but this new style is just like any other band such as bfmv. but its true music changes but they changed too fast! unlike other bands such as all that remains, slipknot, etc. that they released a few albums with the same style before they changed to what they are producing now.

Would you believe someone if you never heard of Black Tide and they told you Teenagers got to do The 2011 UPROAR tour with A7X, Three Days Grace and Seether. I wouldn't have.
I hated this album at first but I actually am into both old and new styles of metal. So I really grew into this album and now this band is like the best of both worlds for me

Lyrically and musically. i don't think it is as intricate as Light From Above, but the choruses are catchy, the breakdowns and solos are necessary, and Gabriel is actually using his voice as the main force of the song. If you aren't a musician think about how much your choice in music has changed since you were 12. If you're 12, just wait and see. If you don't like it, get the fuck off this video. Listen to what you like. Black Tide has matured. They're way more technical. Gabe's vocals sound like a man's singing. He's really good live as well now. LFA was a good record, but this is better.

Oh because you "knew" them right? They're fresh into making music and at a young age. They are still experimenting with different sounds to see what they like best. So quit complaining.
I think their new style is very good. Gabe's voice got deeper. Instead of going "Oh shit, what we gonna do?" They adapted to his voice. His voice is now great for heavier songs. And heavier doesn't mean bad. He isn't screaming and growling all the time. They aren't becoming less technical. They did very well for a band with such a dramatic change at such a young age.
Bands mature, and that is what happened to BT, and I personally think they sound awesome. The vocals have matured alot and they tried harmony this time which worked like a charm. and it's not because they were around BFMV and ETF. I'm a really huge Bullet fan and I have been for a few years now. BT sounds nothing like them. they might sound like them, that is because BFMV is one of their influences. and I don't mean to offend anyone but I don't like ETF at all.
You listen to Warriors of Time and you hear an overwhelmingly awesome song. You listen to this song and you hear psuedo-BFMV and that I don't like -_-

Having seen this song live on sunday when they opened for Iron Maiden, I can say with confidence that I'm dissapointed. It may sound ok (in studio, live was a huge dissapointment) but its still generic and bland. There are a ton of bands their age out there that sound just like this. There are very few their age who sound like their first album.

To everyone: just because they're still at a young age and experimenting with their music styles and influences, doesn't mean that everyone has to like whatever they come up with. Maybe there are also people out there who are still figuring out what style THEY exactly like to listen to. Damn, just respect each other's opinions for once. Me? This is not really my style. I liked what they did on their first album better, but that's just me.

Yeah I mean these guys were really young when they began touring with Ozzfest. Those of us who are musicians, think about your playing style and how much it has changed since you were 12 years old. If you aren't a musician think about how much your choice in music has changed since you were 12. If you're 12, just wait and see. How can we expect these guys to stay the same musically for 5 years when not a single one of us did? These guys will continue to develop I am looking forward to 8/23/11.

If you don't like it, get the fuck off this video. Listen to what you like. Black Tide has matured. They're way more technical. Gabe's vocals sound like a man's singing. He's really good live as well now. LFA was a good record, but this is better.

Why is people bashing on these guys so hard just because they changed their style? It's still powerful and heavy, but just because they don't sound like their first album you're going to write them off? I find it preposterous that music has to be about how bands sell out or how they change their sound from album to album.

I've known BFMV for a long time, and I'm personally a die-hard Bullet fan. I can sure see influenced elements, but that's not a band thing at all. It's not that 'Tide completely going for that sound. They have a signature sound. They are so much more technical then they were before. The vocals actually sound like a man singing

I think their new style is very good. Gabe's voice got deeper. Instead of going "Oh shit, what we gonna do?" They adapted to his voice. His voice is now great for heavier songs. And heavier doesn't mean bad. He isn't screaming and growling all the time. They aren't becoming less technical. They did very well for a band with such a dramatic change at such a young age.

Bands mature, and that is what happened to BT, and I personally think they sound awesome. The vocals have matured alot and they tried harmony this time which worked like a charm. and it's not because they were around BFMV and ETF. I'm a really huge Bullet fan and I have been for a few years now. BT sounds nothing like them. they might sound like them, that is because BFMV is one of their influences. and I don't mean to offend anyone but I don't like ETF at all.

Having seen this song live on sunday when they opened for Iron Maiden, I can say with confidence that I'm dissapointed. It may sound ok (in studio, live was a huge dissapointment) but its still generic and bland. There are a ton of bands their age out there that sound just like this. There are very few their age who sound like their first album.
