Hi Stephen, I just bought iRig and Amplitube for my iphone 3GS.
I need to ask you for a favor. Could you plerase help to set up a Preset to get a Gilmour sound (such as the one of "Confortably Numb") using iRig and AmpliTube for iPhone?.
I knew that there is no way to load Presets inside the AmpliTube for iPhone but, you may shortly describe Effect setup, Effects order and Ampli set up to get such a kind of sound.
@ilPeval I didn't see a response but i'll try to help, you could try some deep delay effect with a britich amp setting with low gain and add a bit of fuzz and some chorus effect too, that should do the trick for most "deep-delay-melting-away" kind of effect, you can play around with the EQ too to find a good tone. thats what i use anyway. hope i could help a bit x)
I appreciated how it was like he was discovering this shit out for himself. Could totally see myself messing around with that expression on my face. I just ordered my iRig today, so in two weeks I'll be sitting in front of my ipod touch with a guitar and a "wtf" expression myself :D
Just one simple question. Is it posible to use this app in real time like a live performance? My multiEFX is too heavy and if this little thing works on live performances. That's it!!! I want one. Thanks!
Im getting this, i too need an iphone as i have a droid. Quit bashing this dude. Hes not playing with all hes got obviously due to the fact its a demo. G over D isnt all hes playing, he did a few riffs. He was playing chords with full range to demonstrate the rigs ability to produce a full sound
i just purchased the irig for my iphone, and every time i plug it in (im doing everything correctly) no sound comes from the headphones. i can hear all the demo's and stuff, but i cannot hear my own guitar.
can someone please help me with this, i was all excited on this thing and now im kinda bummed, spent like an hr and a half unpluging it and replugging it.
You don't HAVE to plug in headphones right? Can like plug your speakers on to the headphones jack? I think so, but not sure 100%. like the product though.
@celiasarron Try doing one of these with no "ums" - it's not as easy as it looks. This guy does a great job IMO - he's not a professional talking head and he's working with no script and no teleprompter. Refresh my memory mate - what are the URLs of your instructional videos? Oh.. that's right...you haven't' recorded any instructional videos. My bad.
@thrashinthursday It works with the iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 3G and the iPod Touch 2nd+3rd generation (that's what it says on the box). So according to what it says, it does not work with the 1st generation iPod Touch.
@lespualbmb You aren't supposed to really. It only has an 1/8" jack made for headphones and they recommend that you not use a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter do to break up in the signal. I just bought this thing not knowing that as it says nothing of the sort on the box and I did not open it. You can however hook it up to a PA system.
Do you think it'd sound good to play with a 15W amp in my room for practice or at a studio with friends in a 50W speaker, nothing professional, just for fun. Considering i'd be playing some punk rock like Old School Green Day, Ramones, Alkaline Trio or Offspring... Would it sound good enough? Does it handle heavy distortion well, when amplified by an external speaker? Good (and sharp) enough to hear with someone slamming the drums 2 feet away from me?
Your videos are the most professional I've seen displaying the different features of these apps. So thank you very much for that. I am still a bit confused though.I need an iphone app that I can use to multi-record. An app that comes with a good selection of drum tracks built in would be important. The Amplitube seems to be good for guitar players but does it come with a good selection of drum tracks? I play piano, acoustic guitar and sing. Would i need the Irig ? Any help much appreciated
anyone can help me? on how to export the recorded mix of mine to paste it on my pc? pls.... after i export the mix to file sharing i cant find where did my itouch shared the file... anyone can help me pls
@tiefighter94 no dude..... if you want it in that way just plug it with a normal jack and get some adapters wich you can connect your male jack cable of your guitar.... but the problem is your laptops sound card is not design for audio interface... and you will be having delay sounds on it and high latency it means theres a lot of screech going on.... if you want to play in it using your laptop... buy a usb audio interface... you could buy it from 150 dollars or 170....
@cheberli09 I actually got it to work with some adapters, and it actually works fine. no screeching and virtually no delay. the only problem is, is that there's a little fizzing noise in the background when i play. it's not a huge deal but i kinda wish it was gone.
@tiefighter94 I would try a noise gate, pedal or rack mount, between the phone and amp. It may or may not work, but most music stores will let you try it if you bring in the IPhone. Try befor u buy is always good advice. My theory is that at the end of the day this is not much different than processing your tone befor the amp which usually needs a noise gate to get rid of buzz. I know the app has one, but obviously its not working well.
@cheberli09 I am talking about the auto setting which is supposed to be automatic and is demonstrated as such in the video. You are talking about the tilt setting. While the tilt setting works as advertised, I find it quite impractical in that I don't have a third hand to move my iphone up and down while I'm using the other two to play the guitar. What I did find though, was that the auto setting was much more effective with the noise filter turned off. I guess it filtered the sweep out as noise
can u turn EVERY knob on the Iphone app? is the sounds really that good? does the guitar itself affects teh sound by the IPhone? like fr example, crappy stock pick ups vs Seymours or Emg's? does this app act more of an AMP or a pedal with alot of accesories?
@jameschoi999 Yes, you can turn every knob on the amp... including the on/off switch. It does sound that good. It sounds even better if they would implement the use of a dock interface. The app does act like an amp and not just a pedal.
@Shiraz157 Yes you can. I run it on my Fender Frontman 15G solid state. It makes a nice clean speaker for it. You just need a guitar cable with a headphone jack at the other end.
@salaipapa It's not perfect. The iRig is the noisiest of the interfaces that I've tried. The app is great, but to get your guitar into the phone I'd recommend either the LiNK. I personally love the GuitarJack, but AmpliTube does not currently work with GuitarJack.
@Try2SingLol I'm not sure what the model is on this... it's just a clip for mounting your iPhone in the windshield of your car and I just took the clip part and mounted it to a mic clip. Maybe I'll make a video about it.

You could easily get rid of the metronome while recording by just recording with head phones so the app doesn't pick up any other exterior sounds
