I haven't lived in the U.S. for almost 7 years, but I imagine that if I by happenstance recognize these rhythms even though I'm almost always in religious areas in ISRAEL, then all the more so people in the U.S. and other western countries are probably familiar with these rythems - even without intentionally listening to these songs.
