hey question? is it still gonna be "correct" if you use jacks first two chords to replace yours and then play your version for the rest of the chords. cuz it sounds good but i was just wondering
feel hugged from, ( im from germany, so sorry for the bad english) you teach very clear, fast but clear, and your hint for the bar chords with the knuckle, awesome your the hero for today :) finally a way to make the bars easy! thanks man
Just want to say a BIG thank you- we have been asked to play this at a friend's wedding and your video has made that possible!! We like your style of delivery- very informative and clear. All the best from here in the U.K!! xx
im gonna have to watch this a few times and learn it by heart... it was the song i had w/ my X and im gonna play it b4 asking her out but i wanna be able to play it. Thanks :)
Thanks for posting this video, I was struggling with a tab and this sorted me out, you have a nice laid back teaching style, one thing that would help me and possibly ohers is just to mention what fret number you start some of the chords on etc. Excellent vid Thanks
Hey, Just looked at your channel, loads of swet songs and lots of fret umber smentioned :-). One thing, could you possibly explain how you mute the 2nd and 6th in the F\A in this, I don't seem to be able to get it right...
good job.thanx.but it kinda defeats the purpose of people paying you to learn guitar when they can just watch you on youtube.but once again thanx,i live in peoria,il so thats kind of a long drive to take guitar lessons!!!
very good lesson with some different cords. it helped me out a whole lot. i would love if you would do SUBLIME BOSS DJ for me, i don't know the strum and nobody has a lesson for this song and it's one of my favorites, thanks a lot, keep it real.......peace
nice lesson, but the chords are really hard to play and i´m pretty sure jack johnson is actually using simpler barre-chords like in the video lesson from MrKiplinUnleashed
Hey thanks for these great videos, if you got some extra time on your hands it would be awesome if you could figure out bigger than love by my favorite highway, because there are no tabs or videos up on how to do it, and they have a acustic video that you could copy but it takes me forever and i cant do it
haha this video is good by the way. i dont think theres too much info. I also really liked the sitting, waiting, wishing lesson you did. really helped. thanks for making them!
Thanks. Glad you liked the lesson. Some complain there is too much info. I include whatever I think of at the time of recording. I post these songs to teach, not show off. Good luck with your playing! -Micah Beverly
@fgtm I thought it was very good. I like how you go a little off topic and explain things. For instance when you talked about the positioning of your knuckle for bar chords that really helped a lot
can you post an inst. video on how deep is your love but john frusciante's version im not very good at determining strum patterns so the tabs i have dont really help to much..please and thanks
YES. Everyone should check out online tabs and stop asking me for them! ;-) if you want the actual tabs as he plays it, look in the book at your local music store. You can also buy the correct tabs online. Just google it.
Amazing song <3 I just got a guitar and have no idea how to play it...but im determined to lean Jack Johnson...guess ill have to find an instructor in California =/
Hello!! I like the video. You are not boring. I would like to play the guitar. I expect to learn from you. greetings and congratulations from Colombia
Dude. You are seriously the best teacher i have met so far in my life. You are very thorough. You explain to us the chord shapes. The note letters. Where they are used. You are slow and you show us exactly how our hands should be placed. I had a lot of fun watching this and learning how to play the song. Thanks
yeah. but the thing is that it wont sound the same. plus the bar chords for sitting waiting wishing are good practice chords. simple and sound good. if they can get the song down the way it is supposed to be played they shouldnt have problem with bar's afterwards.
this is sooooo awesome! thank you soooo much!! awesome teacher. you took your time and explained EVERYTHING. this is the first song i have ever played..its a little rusty. but i got it!.
one of the best lessons I have seen! Thank you so much for taking an educational approach. I learned more than the song when I watched this video (I learned a little guitar theory too). This video has inspired me and taught me a lot in 10 minutes. Thank you thank you thank you
Hey man, I wanted to say that this is a real good lesson, I like it mostly because you know what you are talking about, and from the looks of it you have the passion there. That's what I appreciate.
so after you do the verse, where do you go from there? there is the bridge and the chorus left and i have no idea which was is best to do it. any ideas?
hey dude great lesson. i love jack johnson's work. oyur explanation makes this song much easier to learn. you keep the watcher informed on how to play the song. could you post the cords or the tabs for this song or the tabs for the cords? that would make this the ultimate guitar video!!!!
How do you do the "chick-a" almost reggae sound with the strumming? Do you catch the strings with the meaty thumb part of your strumming hand? It's driving me crazy. I can't do it.
u lift ur fretting hand off of the strings slighlty as u strum down on the chord or strum up and creates the choppy sound.u do it at the end of the chord u play right at the very end and it gets that sound to it its really easy u just need GOOD fret hand strength tho.cus u have to constantly do it everytime u strum a chord in a fourth fourth time sorda feel like 1 lift 2 lift 3 lift.and u strum ur hand just up and down strums while lifting the fretting hand like i mentioned HOPE IT HELPS.
My girlfriend has been wanting me to learn this song for months. I am very lazy. Your video saved me hours sitting in front of my CD player! Great teaching style...especially about the sublties of muting and raking...thank you so much!

isn't it easier to use 81010988 as last chord, so you can just move one down playing next x8101010x.
