  • OK I'm going to take a stab at ir. Get a 50gram 1000kv brushless motor with a 25-30amp ESC and a 1500mah 20C 11.1V battery and you should have at least 10 minuets of flight time. I built a pusher FPV too. You can see it fly on my Utube channel. What are you going to be using for your video equipment?

  • 10 minutes! Is that at max throttle?

I might just stick with a glow plug engine!

The wing I am building is going to be around 8'.

I have some 4" 2V 500mA solar cells, 3-4 in each wing to keep the radio and video system going.

I was going to buy a radio system, but it looks like I will design and build my own using the Airwave 2.4 GHz modules.

No one in Australia imports the fat shark or other systems.

  • O wow and 8' wing So you will have plenty of lift to haul a bigger battery around. With a 5,000mah batt you could probably get more like 20 minuets at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. Maybe more if you can cruise around at under 1/2 throttle.

I have been flying FPV for over 6 months 10 minuets actually is plenty of time to have lots of fun......then just bring her down and pop in another battery......but I understand if you want longer flight times. How long are you shooting for?

  • Cool man! Lookin forward to the maiden video.

  • This baby was sooo cheap to build!

Fuselage sides are cardboard, so is the vertical stab.

The wing was all cardboard, but got damaged in the truck when I moved up to Echunga. :-(

I may be able to salvage it though.

I have flown it as a glider with my old MRC 2 channel radio (my age is showing!) it was very stable. First time I started up the OS 28 though, the rudder damn near shook itself off the tail boom!

Both are currently full flying, but I am going for a fixed vertical stab, with a rudder

  • RCsuperpowers has some great videos on electrics and which props to run on them. If you dont match the battery, prop and motor right it can hurt the motor or greatly effect the life of the battery.
