  • I am an American, and I lived in Thailand for one year. I always stood up, because I love the Thai people and I respect the king.

  • i really respect Thai people who always respect their king.. always.. it was a precious memory to stay in Thailand.. I really miss Thailand and also the king.. :p

  • Really... no once forces me to stand up... The king also never orders people to stand up... it's just the feeling deep inside of us to show respect to our beloved King... If I can kneel down on the floor in the theatre... I will... Don't ask why Thais love their King... Just remember that we do love our king so much without any reason... and don't ask us what did the king do... since we can't explain... nothing can make us not to love the King... Long Live The King...

  • @Beebsm Yes. The King has done a lot good for Thailand. He is a respectable person.

  • Foreigners usually don't understand why. Those foreign people were not born in Thailand and useless for Thais. They just came, pay and some looked for sex, then went back their home. But the King is Thai. He always willing to help his people live their life better. Thais don't hesistate to stand up as soon as they hear the royal anthem. The reason is to respect their beloved King. If you still really don't understand, at least, if you come to Thailand, please pay respect to country's culture.

  • i really love this song as it is soo close to my heart.

  • i LOVE THIS SONG SO much falang cant understand why we love the king so much

    long live to the king

  • I always loved this song and video. It takes but a few seconds to stand and honour a monarchy that still garners immense respect both in the country and outside by doing what monarchies of the world SHOULD be doing.

I'm not sure why people feel it is such an affront to their "rights" to stand up in a theatre. It's a cultural custom. Respect it. Just because most of us are basically devoid of cultural customs except sports, our "free-thinking" doesn't give us the right to criticize others.

  • well , to all the answer why we love our king is because if u in thailand everyday at 8 o'clock every channel will have a Royalty Duty , which mean this period of time ,it will show what the king have done for us today . and it everyday , that mean he is working 365 days a years , and i ask u back if u could work 356 days for ur family or for ur friend , !!! our KING work 356 days for uss but not for his own benefit ! i am thai btw .

  • @SeLovMone24

interesting!!! Could you give an example of his daily duties?

  • @PatrickAlbers do u have something against our king?

  • @kang1996

    What? Not at all!

  • @PatrickAlbers for example, he invented the first man made rain. Thailand is agriculture country, a lot of our income comes from exporting food (such as rice), so rain is very important to us. If there is drought, we don't have income. He was the one who saw the problem and initiated the man made rain program. There are so many other examples. Go to live in Thailand, Thai people can tell you heaps more. and that's why WE LOVE OUR KING!

  • @Fixxie06 Actually, seeding clouds was not invented by king Bhumibol Adulyadej. Do some research.

He does play a mean sax though!

  • A lot of time, I got ask, why Thai people love their king without reason. Well, he is not just our king, he is also our guardian and our beloved father. He is not far away, he is always closed by. He is in our heart. He helps us when we need help. He looks after us and always cares for us. There was a girl written a letter, with no stamp, no envelop to the king, asking for help. Guess what, soon after that, there was someone sent by king to help this girl.

  • It's a way the Thai rulers use to brainwash Thai people. Imagine if you see this movie, or hear the song since you were born but you have no way to hear any criticism about him, your brain is limited to only one thinking. It's hard to open Thai people's eyes, becuase of the lese majesty law.

  • This is not national anthem but royal anthem. It's plays before a movie starts.

  • @getamacplease No, it's for courtesy and respect. Learn to fucking respect. I may not have a religion, but i respect what other people are doing.

  • @getamacplease more than you have. im sure

  • I always remember The Royal Anthem, I sing when i was in school everyday before go back home....One thing in my life never forget how to sing The royal Anthem...

Happy all the time to stand up and sing before seeing movie

  • We, Your Majestys loyal subjects,

Pay homage with deep heartfelt veneration,

To the supreme Protector of the Realm,

The mightiest of monarchs complete with transcendent virtues,

Under whose benevolent rule, we your subjects,

    Receive protection and happiness,

    prosperity and peace;

And we wish that whatsoever Your Majesty may desire,

    The same may be fulfilled.

  • Well, u gotta understand Thai culture. Don't go to thai theaters if you don't like to be FORCED to stand up. We, Thais, don't feel like we're forced. Instead, we love to do it anytime we hear the song.

  • @Kreicherisch

I can understand you! Even I am not Thai I feel the same for His Majesty... He is so devoted to His people.. It makes me feel to stand up for him always, when I am so lucky to hear the royal anthem on the street or in cinema when I am in Thailand.
