I always wished I could play the violin and flute. And maybe cello. I can't play any of those to save my life...but I do play several instruments. Drums, keys, bass, guitar, most brass instruments, and sax. I was alone a lot as a kid, and I got bored easy! LOL! ;-)

if you can play a fretless bass, that's 1/2 of learning the violin. just put the strings in reverse order of a 4-string bass. if you can't do fretless, than the same applies to a mandolin. as for flute, you're on your own lol

I play fretless a lot, so the intonation is there, but the thing that gets me with violin is the strings being so close to me, it gives me some mad eye strain...not to mention that the notes are so close together! Takes precision! I think that's an instrument that I would need lessons to really learn. Tried to teach myself=FAIL

Yeah, I like those Gadd sticks too...I used to play those, then I switched to the Peter Erskine ride sticks, but couldn't get the power I wanted from them. Finally settled on the new Dave Weckl models (the red ones, not the orange ones), even though I'm not a Weckl fan. Like a 5A, but with a long reach, and the tips give a nice fat attack.

Haha yeah, I like the Weckl sticks too, and I too am not much of a fan. Sometimes the Gadd sticks get too light, but they're pretty durable. But yeah, you rock man, I love all your stuff, you're such a talented dude heh.

You ain't kidding...I've gained a ton of weight. I was actually heavier than this - one reason I didn't do any videos last year. I spent most of the year sick with a lung condition that required me to take TONS of steroids...it just blowed me up like the Michelin Man. Now that I'm healthy, I'm working on getting rid of that fat!
