  • Very,very beautiful actresses ...amazing women !!!

  • Comment removed

  • Just consider.....there was no Photoshop at that time mates!

  • @Yaddaer There was a retouching.

  • @gatabella3 Yeah but you couldn't make your nose look smaller or your breasts bigger.

  • Vivien Leigh, Ava Gardner, Liz Taylor, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Lauren Becall, Norma Shearer, Katharine and Audrey Hepburn , Bette Davis and Ingrid Bergman..my favorite classical beauties...but where is the great Bette Davis?

  • Who is the woman at 4:19, she´s very beautiful:)

Hey, I like the point of view you´re sharing with us, I´m descovering the classical actrices and I have to tell that they are the best and by far. I´m very dissapointed with the nowadays ones, there´s only one or two that I deeply admire., I mean, they are beautiful and have good figures, but seriously they don´t know how to be sexy without beeing a slut. I may be wrong and that would be the image that hollywood wants to sell us, I´m confused...

  • @TZeveRe 4:19 is Carole Lombard...Agree, I'm a fan of old Hollywood because these women were real Divas, had class, elegance and unsurpassed beauty, each one of them was a personality. No modern actress can be a role model for me and in many cases their looks are not natural, they come and go, no one would remember their names decades later.

  • @TZeveRe Wow! You should hold fast to your illusions! Their not "being a slut" owed more to careful image-management and the relative lack, back then, of today's relentless media scrutiny. Two of the traditionally classiest were Grace Kelly and Ingrid Bergman, who were, in fact, notoriously far from classy! If I know anything of human nature, they were not particularly exceptional! "Real class" - as opposed to the appearance of it - was then as now, in very short supply!

  • @WeeWyllie But seriously, you like them?

  • @TZeveRe Certainly! But then, who wouldn't? These are pretty and beautiful women, with images carefully and skillfully curried for public consumption! All but Marlene Dietrich, whose appeal has always been a complete enigma for me! Lauren Bacall will probably always be my favorite Hollywood Golden Age beauty!

  • @WeeWyllie I meant the nowadays ones, I agree with your point of view.

  • @TZeveRe That all said, this is still an excellent montage!

  • what about a namelist?

  • Good job. I would have liked to see more pictures of Mae West because she was the first major film femme fatale. What happened with Sophia Loren???, she was one of the most important figures of Hollywood and its beauty is incomparable.

  • @mikicazorla Well, Sophia is very beautiful, but for me she's European actress not Hollywood. I included her photos in my another video with many beauties "They Had Faces Then".

  • @gatabella3 Hello, I am writing an article about several celebrities and I'm focusing on ten actresses who inspired by their beauty, mystique, talent and because changed the female viewpoint, they are, Mae West, Mary Pickford, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Bette Davis, Katherine Hepburn, Claudette Colbert, Carole Lombard, Lana Turner, Jean Harlow, Sophia Loren and Marilryn Monroe. I would like to know your opinion of this list. Greetings.

  • @mikicazorla Very good list. Mae West is particularly interesting for she was actually very far from good-looking, and "owed it all" to her shameless adopted raucousness . She and Katherine Hepburn - together with Mary Pickford, perhaps - might be your list leaders, as they shamelessly marched to their own drummers. The rest used their breathtaking beauty in the all-too-familiar ways of getting ahead! BTW, where is the sizzling Lauren Bacall?

  • Ava Gardner said to Veronica Lake: "With a face and figure like yours you could start a war." Lake replied: "I believe we are at war; the question is, can a face and figure like mine stop it?" Veronica Lake is said to have been so disarmingly beautiful that she looked as if she had been preserved on ice before each scene: her skin, hair, eyes - everything was perfect and peerless. She was whip-smart, could deliver lines with remarkable deftness...Lake all the way!!!

  • Elizabeth Taylor for me.

  • RIP LIZ TAYLOR! THE MOST CLASSY AND MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN WHO HAS EVER WALKED THIS EARTH.

  • Lovely photos. Not a big fan of the music though.

  • Where is Bette Davis?!

  • Wonderful tribute to these leading ladies ; ) Today's leading ladies could never measure up to these classic beautiful women!!

  • Beautiful tribute. And I also enjoyed the quote you included in the info box,it is perfect.

  • still makes me stop and stare

thank you for filling my senses with such worthy stillness

  • La Dietrich, La Garbo y Dolores...simplemente son bellísimas

Dietrech, Garbo und Dolores... Sie sind einfach die schönsten seiner Zeit

  • Only Liz Taylor and Lauren Bacall are still living.

  • muy bueno!

  • diosas, bellas, glamorosas tremendas mujeres.

  • .i could watch at pictures of jean harlow or garbo for hours.

  • Really you're going to act like a child? So what if some do not know their names? You're the ignorant one!

  • ...Dietrich is an odd looking female, what horrible features she has...

  • they are not as beautiful as MARIA FELIX

  • Calmate, tengo un par de videitos dedicados a Maria tambien. No escribas en cada video mio que nadie es tan bella como Maria, ok?

  • @yugijane

Maria was gorgeous, close to Ava Gardner.

  • you should put the names

  • For the ignorant people?

  • i'm french, sorry for the faults.

no, not for the ignorants people, for the young people ( like me)

I know lots of them; but not all ( sorry for my english) so don't be so .... snob ? it's just it's not my time ( époque)

  • @gatabella3 i wasn't born when they existed.

  • @axxymax Oh yeah, and I was born in the 1920s, right?

  • @gatabella3 i am sorry i haven't done the Phd. on the dead and the beautiful. get yourself a gold medal for knowing the names of these women.

  • @axxymax Good idea, thanks!

  • @gatabella3 you are welcome, if you need any more brilliant ideas you can count on me

  • Natalie Wood does not belong in this video. She is like 35 years younger than Garbo, Crawford, Harlow etc. Someone should make a video with Nat and members of her own generation like Faye Dunaway.

  • I know their all beautiful, but is it just me but does Vivien still just stand out as the most beautiful creature imaginable?

  • Quel dommage qu'il n'y ait pas les noms... :'( Sinon, merci ! :D

  • A beautiful tribute but what a shame that so many of these women led tragic lives.

  • I understood your point of view already. Calm down.

  • Jealous....

  • @dreamorevolution Loser!

  • Beautiful music and tribute, BUT I was disapointed to see only "1" photograph of the beautiful Natalie Wood and that was of a book cover, your obviously a Liz fan!

  • There were just as many shots of Garbo, and others, as there were of Liz. Natalie was good, but hardly a "goddess" like many of the faces featured in this tribute.

Liz was by FAR the bigger star, over Natalie.

  • Goddess is a myth, they were ALL beautiful talented women, that is for sure, where are the pic's of Liz from the 70's when she was, well if your a fan you should know :)

  • MUTANTS!!!!!!

  • I love this tribute! So good!

  • This vid is really gorgeous

  • PRECIOSO!!!!

  • All of them like goddesses from the Olympus.

  • HERMOSO!!!!

  • Immortal Beautys everyone of them. Nice tribute Gatabella3

  • Gorgeous! All those glam goddesses! Stunning women and beautiful video! Thanks! : )

  • Awesome video!

  • i love all these actresses and especially katharine hepburn. i wish there were such actresses nowadays too.

  • Will we ever forget these faces? N-O-P-E:D

  • Wonderful video!

  • that was good...thank u.

  • OMG - I've never seen the photo of Rita Hayworth at 7:19 before. She looks so feral.

Great to see photos of Jayne Mansfield, Delores Del Rio, Linda Darnell, and Jane Russell.

And thank god you had that final photo of Gene Tierney. She needed to be included.

    GREAT WORK. Excellent Music.

  • Wonderful Tribute to the Hollywood Legends!

Great choice of music too, specially the Second Song!! ;)

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Thank you, Irene! I wrote you before that "Cherche la Rose" is my favourite Marlene's song!

  • Yes that`s right,I remember!

It`s one of my favorites too!

  • I waited for one pic of Gene Tierney at 7:59 why not a couple more?
