If he had grinned at me like that (2:52), I don't think I'd have been able to control myself. Not to seem vulgar or anything, but I probably woulda wrapped my legs around him. LOL! "SECURITY!!!!!!"
Eagle Rock Entertainment (who released the Wembley DVD) is releasing in August a DVD of ELO's early performances including this one in its entirety. Also included and never released is the 1974 - Rockpalast performance and Brunel University in 1973. CAN'T WAIT!
I totally agree with you EnidBlytonne! 100%! You took the words out of my mouth. These guys worked really hard as musicians, but like you said, not like this nonsence we have today with copycat boybands, they call themselves Musicians, NOT! All they do is dance and sing, they don't write music really or play real instruments either! And that britney gal got a Hollywood walk of fame, how in the hell did that happen! What did she do really?
What makes it worse is that artist these days don't write their own material. Some broke songwriter in Nashville is cranking 3 or 4 tunes a week and showcasing them to publishers to give to an artist to be performed, and in the end, it's the artist that gets all the glory. Jeff Lynne and ELO, along with many other bands of the era, were mostly genuine and wrote their own stuff, and this band in particular produced their own records. Jeff Lynne is a freaking power house to have in a band.
Those days were the best - grown men, talented musicians, ability before looks, and so much variety in the work they produced. All we get now are copycat boybands and warbling wannabees. I'm so glad I can go back to listen to great music like this again or again. If I had to rely on today's output I'd go nuts.
Why can't I watch Jeff Lynne grin in this video without me thinking, "MMMMMMM!!!! Manly hunka manliness!!!!"?????

You're right EnidBlytonne, we shouldn't! These guys earned it as hard as they worked. But I don't recall if they had a Hollywood walk fame.

And can you imagine Britney performing Strange Magic live on stage? On second thoughts it's probably best if we don't give her any ideas.

First time I saw Bev Bevan in this role.
Sad, that Face of the Music stuff didn´t
live very long in their concerts.
Because huge success by A New World Record
and Out of the Blue was coming.
