  • hoy ayusin mo rotpas mo prang bulati!!!

  • Easy ;)

  • Join the Union!

  • But the rootpass is not that pretty. no uniformty.

  • that boy got skills.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=QbmWNuglhQY

  • why are you putting this on youtube???

  • WHY R U GOING DOWN HILL ... THATS ILLEGAL ON A TEST AND SOMETIME IN THE FIELD!!!!

  • I love the guy in the corner just staring at the light.

  • love that chicken wing hes got goin on

  • it looks like he has a J prep the pipes are butted up tight to each other its a doddle to do

we use it every day and my work is all X ray the filler wire is just to fill the joint up

Assuming it is a J it looks impressive but i could teach an 8 year old to do it in an hour.

  • @tiny789 this is HLO 45° if u can do this u can weld all the position so u got to learn pa pf pc pg than u can do HLO 45° so i don't think my opinion to learn this postion you most know all the position, so it's a bit impressive ...don't you think eventhow ur very very good you most train this position a few times ,so wel don

  • how manny amps there man?

  • oh my god สุดยอดเลย

  • hell yeah man thats sick good shit man that aint easy to do takes a lot of knowledge and skill man and practice

  • good welding most test have starts and stops tho

  • Is this around a 6 inch 308 stainless pipe, maybe schedule 40?

  • @theman4130 nah looks more like schedule 80 J prep loads of room and easy to do

  • @tiny789 You know after the fact, I read the discription.

  • mais que porra é essa...que merda.

  • the wave is too fast but the seems not runing jejejejejejejejje"

  • terrible technique.... you cant walk around the test piece like that at most places...

  • terrible technique....

  • dapat nka taub ang cap mo bro.mas madali mas mabilis

  • @brasracer I don't think this was the root run, it looked like the second pass to me.

If you're using 2-3 rods of 2.4mm wire on your hot pass you are going to see the root suck back an awful lot from the heat input.

@tcscott17 What kind of place lets you run a ticket with a foot pedal. If you have welded on site you would know that hardly any machines have HF start or down slope, let alone a foot pedal!

Can some of these experts please post a video?

  • ive been welding for 14 weeks at mwi and i have my structural certification, mig/flux cored certificatio, 6g 6010 root 3/32 stick fill and 6g tig root tig hotpass 3/32 stick fill

  • I went today to Mcguire Nuclear and tried to pass their. It was 6g like this and I failed :/.. I have always done better but my nerves got the best of me.. I'll get it next time hell I'm only 19 I got some time :)

  • Thanks to all your comments..and thanks to heats school..im here now working at offshore pipeline project here in europe.

  • This type of waving..is called walking cap..this is faster than to floating wave...i like the i move this!!

  • @Superduty: that weld passed the ASME 9 requirements of visual inspection, radiographic testing and bend testing. the guy is now working under Brunei Shell Projects in Brunei Darussalam

  • @heatsweldingschool

Go get a Welding Cert Book at Lulu.Com and pass ur Test.

  • @heatsweldingschool anong klaseng rooting yan prang walang suply jejejejej ni ndi manlang tumagos ang sinag ng arc"hahahahahhahahahaha"ndi kaya suck back ang luob nyan pre?hahahhahaahha

  • i watched that hole thing and dint even show a fucking beed, hate it when people do that

  • joder eso es soldal!!! no veas comose lo curra el compi

  • It's interesting how he welded half the pipe and didn't even finish his only one welding rod. It is likely both halves of the pipe did not have a gap, and he was just melting the two edges and occasionally filling in with the rod when the keyhole became too large. I think I would have used at least 2-3+ rods because imo it's important to create a keyhole and use the filler rod. That would create the strongest root pass.

  • @brasracer yes and no all hes doing there is filling the gap to hold the pipe together than he puts a lot of rod on the next pass melting throught the root pass. its a technique i learned that woks verry well when stick welding

  • Whas the Guy behind the wall with out Eye Protection the person grading this welder. It is a wonder he can see anything. In these here parts, folks got to wear the eye protection, or they are fired or blind or both.

  • @Justwonderinghow: It depends on the approved WPS you are using. There are instances that the approved WPS indicates full SMAW Welding and others are Root - TIG, Hotpass -TIG and other Passes are SMAW. but normally, 3 inches diameter pipe and below and welded using TIG Welding.

The advantage of TIG against SMAW is the the quality of the weld, however, TIG is more expensive than using SMAW

  • @heatsweldingschool I was looking at you root in side well watching this clip. I am not sure where in the world you are welding but here in alberta cananda if your root looked and that would not pass asme it over a dimes thinkness, I am a B welder with all my tig tickets I would see myself get run for a x-ray like that!!!!

  • Why is TIG welding used in welding pipe for the root- and hotpass. Why not do the entire weld with stickwelding. What are the advantages?

  • @JustWonderingHowToDo TIG tends to be a stronger and faster weld. You can also do roots with 6010 rods. It's just a matter of preference and codes according to what type of job you're doing.

  • @JustWonderingHowToDo Tig allows for a cleaner root pass. Tig is clean which is why it is almost exclusively used in clean process piping.(i.e milk plants)

  • He might be too hot with no adjustment, long stick out, too. Look at the angle, a little shallow to me, but way to keep up with the puddle. When in doubt go hotter a steam fitter once told me.

  • that was alot of weaving....i wonder if he had undercut...

  • how much do pipe welders get paid?

  • @310extreme depends on the company to work in and race of the welder. American welders are highly paid. Asian welders are less paid.

  • @heatsweldingschool Wow, you sounding a little racists there eh buddy? Where'd you get facts like those? Lol, google? Let me know where you got these " facts ", before i continue on with further comments.

  • @heatsweldingschool i think you're right ...where i used to work asians got paid worst.....and they kinda liked like that...it was weird

  • @heatsweldingschool thats wack.

  • @310extreme

You can always tell a rookie by the words all over their mask.

  • @310extreme

Usually Places that require a passing Test pay 20+ per Hr.(Usually 23)

  • that looks like sch 40, not 80

  • I myself have this 6g cert who is controlling his heat I see no hand control and I know he is not dragging the pedal. When I took my cert I deffinetly had to control my heat. I am also a CWI and I am pretty sure you should not cert out someone in tig that had someone else control there heat

  • i dont think tig would be the most effective way to weld that pipe lol

i would grab a stick or mig. tig just too much time and costly

  • If you are being tested, you should be tested in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW. Then again it depends on what the employer wants and what ever the codes are for the welds that they are making. That is why it is good to know blueprints. @tqadir007

  • Walk the cup much?

  • good welder !!!!! old tools.......

  • gief link to the video where we can see the root pass , even average welder can roll around the pipe end even move much faster with handle than this guy while doing the fillup and ..i couldnt say 100% but i'm around 90% sure thats whats he's doing here, just filling . + gief the guy a complex position where he won't be able to drive the handle like that and let's see the root pass then -if i may notice his upper root pass looks a bit too fat ?or i'm seeing wrong?

  • @Panzergnome Stop being so critical!

  • @Panzergnome Stop being so critical!

  • Intresting the way the welder waves his TIG handle like that. I have never seen something like that. But I can see a ling way this guy know what he is doing. Just to bad the vid don't show a close up of the weld, I would have loved to see that.

  • Welding sure is fun, practicing 6G in the hall at the moment.

  • i didn't get to sit during my cert pipe.. :(

  • i dont think you will be out of work welding like that, looks good im working at it,sure isnt as easy as u make it look though

  • u dont need to post flow the gas for a couple a seconds on this?

  • this guy has some serious skills.

  • I've got 7 6g certs, and I can tell you there is nothing "beginner" about this. The arc was not cut short if he's welding 70s and a scratch start. And I'm sure if he's walking the cup around the pipe like that his root pass is just fine. And as far as it being very easy to do when the pipe is fixed like that? 1: How else would a 6g test be done? and 2: No it isn't

  • @mrmikesims i agree. that is a awesome weld on ankansas bell hole

  • nice hand work. you should have been a doctor!

  • Good to watch someone "walking the dog" but don't forget to slope down and tail off properly pal. ;)

  • Excelente video, pero me hubiera gustado ver el resultado de esa soldadura,el acabado del cordon.Soy principiante y me gustaria alcanzar ese nivel...!!!! Congratulation....!!!!

  • MABUHAY PO KAYO,,,,KEEP IT UP...glotoniok encourage you to study hard,,more practice...be an expert..watch,observe,dual jet tig,new discover,2 kilos weight,heavy duty,no overheat,..

  • mmm men no pasa nada yo sueldo mejor gano 700 dolares semanales xD

  • pfffffffffff

  • thats freakin awesome

  • incredible ,super,unique ,a real pro

  • nice man pretty quick. its nice when your allowed to walk the cup instead of freehand. its actually easier to have the heat up like he has it and to go faster rather than slow and steady

  • ..6" sch 80?.. thats a small 6" sch 80 pipe..

  • looks like sch40.......... maybe standard, but im sure its 40

  • @south02m 40 fo sho!!!!

  • my EYE's!! @_@

  • damn that's a fast travel speed.

  • odlicno ovo varis,,svaka cast,

  • he is moving his wrist in a walking motion its called "walking the cup" its kind of like moving a big 55 gal drum back and fourth

  • Why are you moving your hand so much?

  • @Bgkgtjh he's walkin the dog mate, or playin the bag pipes as my pipi fitter says to me

  • molt bona la tecnica felisitats

  • Is that a Dynasty i spot in the background? or just a plasma cutter

  • Salutari maestre. Buna treaba!

  • Tig welders do it hotter and better. and no pedal just wide open. 300amp go brother!!

  • cake.....try it on 2" sched 40 ss.

  • is he even using the peddle???

  • when on a job usually dont have a pedal!

teaches you heat control with your hand not your foot!

  • @MrPoonasty So you are saying this cat is whipping it like stick welding.

  • kinda this looks more like a "free hand" weld than a traditional "walking the cup" im in school now and i can tell you that no one in my school can do this this well!but i cant see the weld either!I give him props!!!

  • what part of Texas are you in?Im in north east Texas!!!

  • Indiana Untill next yr, plans are to be in San Antonio.

  • No, it's nothing like 6010 or such, as in the whipping process you are referring to, when you get more familiar with TIG welding, you will learn to set the heat on your machine to use the speed you move to control your heat and not have to use a pedal.

  • bravo maistore

  • Jesus christ. He's one hell of a welder.

  • Check me out, for the "Real deal" at a big company of Oil and Gas.

  • nice to turn around that guy this is a trade test

  • its very relaxing positions the human welding machine lol

  • wow ang galing mo pumuwesto idol astig sanay na sanay

  • nice walking the cup, what size gap u using 1/8 thats what i use,

  • take a 6g test here and you have restrictions 1' from the wall and ceiling

  • Might as well roll it as easy as that is, Come to the real word kid.. Find a 6G in a refinery or a power plant thats 3 feet off the ground out in the open.. Youll see when you get a job that aint how it is ..

  • Im learning GTAW now as my last process at the school im at in San Diego..I have to weld a 1" thick V-groove joint on mild steel....Good Job on this!!

  • this guy is a bad ass.

  • must be nice to move around the coupon like that...

  • @NiGhtMaReIDoL Damn right! wish my test i could mover around on that.. Guess they hate me by telling me i have to use a mirror on my 7oclock to 11oclock pass with a wall on the back side ..

LMAO some people dont know what its like to have to take a real test

  • hey could you have one of your guys run a root on video?

  • How long has this dude been welding?

  • hey need any more welders i can do it and pass staniless and carbon

  • very easy to do this when the pipe is fixed the way u like it and it's not a longer pipe, the whole pipe. You've made an begginers mistake by turning off the flame to quick (you should show us a hole on that place). U didn't show us an inside of pipe which is most important weld line. It look beautifull only for begginers!

  • That weld was radiographed and you know what? It perfectly passed. The guy is now working in Brunei Darussalam.

This position (6G) is not for beginners, its the highest form of qualification test in accordance with ASME IX. The welding position for beginner in Pipe welding are 1F, then 2F, then 5F then 6F then 1G, then 2G, then 5G (the one you are talking about). And the highest position is this one in the video which is 6G position. A beginner needs more time before he can do this position!!!

  • 6G 2" heavy wall pipe is the highest. However your right about the 6G position, although, I find 6G easier than the bell hole weld.

  • this guy is a badass ,i just started 6 4 inch pipe tig welding and i know i cant weld that fast

  • @heatsweldingschool I am pretty sure a 6G(R) with the restriction plate/ring is a superior test to a standard 6G.

  • how do you do fillet welds on pipe??

  • I'm assuming he is talking about laying a small length of pipe on a piece of plate steel. I did this to help practice keeping the correct work and travel angle as well as curing my "lazy elbow" a common bad habit in beginner welders.

  • @domagoj981 no shit im glad to see some one corrects these guys .i have a 6g tig root and hot pass 7018 fill and cap and one on stainless 2 inch.its def hard for sure soemtimes when not doing it all the time.further more lets see the inside of that root.

  • @domagoj981 VERY TRUE INSIDE IS WHAT MATTERS MOST NOT OUTSIDE

  • bastaddu china di ghiummati è

  • Bravissimo

  • ese proceso es lo mejor !

  • Fantastic man ! What a demonstration...One word for this is SKILL !!! Hope you find a good job, you deserve.

  • ang SMAW NC I (Plate Welding) po namin ay P10,000, ang SMAW NC II (Pipe Welding) po namin ay P20,000. May GTAW NC II po kami which is P28,000. All TESDA accredited course po yun.

For enrollment pls txt/call 09054140543 - look for Grace.

    thanks po

  • @heatsweldingschool "po namin ay"?

Is that a typo, or another language

  • @heatsweldingschool ....gano katagal ang duration ng courses?

  • @heatsweldingschool asaH nah TESDA Sa CEBU? SaH MTITT nLNG diai kay FREE

  • sir magkano ang tuition fee for smaw??? thanx good day :)

  • sir saan nyo nabili yan DYNASTY WELDING MACHINE? saan makakabili sa pilipinas yan?

  • all i have to say is wow

  • Fook your fast! Nice job and think you only have to do two a day for a job cause that's what the proceedure allows.

  • with that 6 inch schedule 40, least 4-5 joints a day with rootpass & hotpass are TIG Process and Fill & cap are SMAW process can be done depending on the speed and capability of the welder.

  • Awesome. So that's 6.4mm wall low alloy steel pipe? What root face, root gap and Amps do you use?

  • kapzella!!!

  • We train our trainees for 268-304 hours in our facility. It is a supervised training. 1 Trainee = 1 Welding machine c/w accesories, tools and materials. Practice welding will be done daily until they complete the training hourse. At the end of the course, the trainee will be tested in accordance to ASME IX requirements. Test are as follows: SMAW Plate trainees - 3G position using SMAW Process. SMAW Pipe Trainees - 6G position using SMAW Process. TIG trainees - 6G position using TIG process

  • Where is this school?

  • This is how Welder's Qualification Test (WQT) for 6G position, uphill direction is being done.
