would you happen to know why my mouse only lights up at the bottom when I take off the USB receiver from the cavity and plug in my computer, then the light fades away? I'd like to keep it on at all times... thanks!

I'm still using my Microsoft Habu razer , and I'm using it on the table all the time , no pad needed ...so this blue track is not that effective . I have my mouse for 4 yeas!! and no problems !!

The tracking is nice. The connection steady. Good battery life. Pouch is cool. But:

- the scroll wheel is horrible. Especially if you are a designer, like me - and you find yourself using Illustrator & other Adobe CS stuff a lot, stay away from these smooth scroll Microsoft mice. It is just that bad - really impossible to work, and I'm not exaggerating at all. See the Technet/MSDN threads.

- I also suspect this is a driver issue... the scroll behaves differently depending on the application.

I didn't know I could "click" the scroll wheel side to side o.o I thought it was like all of the other mouses which you can only click the scroll wheel in the middle. I'm a fail... lol. I should read the manual sometime.... if I can find the packaging. But yeah, this mouse rocks! (atleast the mini one rocks).

What dimensions are the mini? and what dimensions are the regular explorer mouse? and is either of them Mac Compatible? Need a new mouse for work, but I don't want it to big or to small and we run OS X so it has to be compatible with that also.

the dimensions I am not sure of , but you could probably find them on microsofts website.  They all work with Mac and have software for it.

Man, ive just bought the mouse (the big one) and @ first it shinse the cool blue lights when you use it after the charging. and then after 30 sec , the lights turns off! how do i enable them on for everytime?

no, it does not pair. This is not bluetooth, but uses blue track technology.

Right...I thought you had them confused. The wireless technology is Microsofts own technology. They do not use bluetooth on this mouse.

Too bad...I was going to install a bluetooth module in my laptop anyways, so having a mouse with one of those dongles would save me some time and money. Maybe I'll get one of the new logitechs, although they are pricey.

Never mind, it uses an 2.4GHz infared connection. I was probably thinking of the new Logitech mice with the USB bluetooth module thats small enough to leave in.

@HeadShot360IN it has nothing to do with transmitting. Bluetrack is what Microsoft calls their sensor that picks up the mouses movement.

@zollotech correct, but tipoomaster asked if it can pair up with a blueTOOTH device. he never mentioned the blueTRACK because that part didnt matter to him. then you state "it's not blueTOOTH, it uses blueTRACK". why did you mention ANYTHING about blueTRACK, when he was talking about the type of transmitting, because alot of mice are blueTOOTH, he didnt realise that the mouse ISN'T blueTOOTH.

When do you have to change the battery? The first Battery which was in the package worked over a month. But now when I put another Battery into the mouse it only works from 4 to 5 days. Is that normal? Or do I have to buy expensive batteries?

I haven't had any problems. Just make sure you have a high quality battery and not one from the dollar store. They just never seem to last as long. I just replace mine with a rechargeable.

I just got mine from Costco for $40 the other day. From trying the Logitech and the HP's, I would have to say this thing blows them away. The Tracking is spot on. I had trouble with that with the others. Try to get the pointer right on something small to click was hard. This mini stops on a dime, so to speak. For someone with big hands it fits me perfectly. Only negative thing I would say is I wish it had a micro transceiver so I can just leave it in the laptop.
