  • Open baffle..... too easy. Next question.

  • Although the back horn seems to sound a little lower or deeper, it is a little congested compared to Open Baffle. Room design, size and acoustics will probably determine what works best!

  • Wow - excellent sound, man!.. :) Congratz -

  • I like the first pair very much. Visually striking, and they seem sonically pure. Any build details available?

  • Impossible to saw which sounds better.

  • FOR GOD SAKES MAN.. PUT A FRIKEN RUG IN YOUR ROOM

  • Hello from Denmark . I have a pair of Audio Nirvan 12" cast Frame . How big schall I made the floor Baffle ? With Frendly Regards Bent Nissen

  • @bentnissen Nirvana 12" seems to be big for OB. Find out your favorite sounds through cut and try by corrugated board baffle. Corrugated board is an ideal material for OB baffle plate.

  • OB WINS no contest

  • A horn is still an enclosure and can never equal the neutral presentation of OB.

  • I'd love a set of plans for these as well if at all possible. Sound terrific..

  • Wonderful ... especially the OBs! Maybe better than the Stereo Sound / JE Labs version? Dunno -- I'd like to build a pair, actually. Do you have plans by any chance? I'd appreciate it so much ... thanks!

  • super!

  • whats the name of this song anyone PLEASE?

  • @ag72

    J. S. Bach, Cello Suite No. 1, prelude

  • @guzzistx Is that Janis Starker?

  • @bcdhifi Hidemi Suzuki.

  • first.... like the "echo-like" sound .... really nice, and open sound :)

  • The open baffle concept is nice. You should put up some sound dampers behind them on the wall to get rid of the echo. Nice setup!

  • Excellent video. I've been wanting to get an idea what these types of speakers sounded like. Open baffle definitely sounds more open and natural. Actually felt like there was a cello 1m away from me at times. Does seem to be missing some low end presence. The horns provide ultra warmth but seem to present a lot of box colouration and resonance which is quite distracting. Are they a closed box design? Any dampening?

  • @duffski77 The colouration and resonance caused by room echo. This horn type speakers desiged by Nagaoka Tetsuo, named Swan. Probably over thousands DIYer have made this. 8 feet long folded horn comressed into lower box. The horn, has no dumping and no absorbent, characterize its sounds.

  • The first ;-) more open sound
