Man, how does one explain this drum work? W/every little bit of my brain let me try! Just when you think their about to be out of sync they slam you methodicly dead bang! Electricly charged robotic, thundered deliboracy! Non-sensically brilliant! The music coming full circle is followed with an elliptic orbit beat that drives home the meaning in the lyrics! A planitary swirling of beat and lyrical content revolving opposites in perfect balance! Add Gene and...! Damn! GOOD STUFF!

Actually, I had heard that this song was produced in England and some of the Rolling Stones (who loved Gene) were in the studio.

Great song. Love it. RIP Mr. Pitney. His voice was unique....Town Without Pity. Another hit by Gene. Good stuff. Thanks for posting rwells47.

Let's not forget theat Alan Lorber was the arranger for both Every Breath and Raincoat. He was also responsible for tons of early 60s hits

Spector produced Sammy Turner's epic "Raincoat in the River" the same year, 1961.

He was a scumbag even then.
Then he graduated to murder.

The young Spector burst on the scene like a nova, and Pitney was just the man to make it happen. Brilliant neo-doowop, a classic.
