Box did one of the best shows in Branson, and I really admired his steel player Harland Powell.

He tried to teach me to play steel and that was probably the hardest job he ever had. I miss these guys playing together.

Yes, this was good ole country singing; have you noticed that his voice sounds somewhat like Willie Nelson, maybe the reason is that they were born in Texas no more than forty miles apart. Boxcar Willie was born in Ovilla just south of Dallas and Willie Nelson in Abbott also south of Dallas. A new Overpass over I-35E also Ovilla Rd. was named in honor of Boxcar Willie. "Boxcar Willie Memorial Overpass" R.I.P.

Yesterday marked the 10th year anniversary of boxcar willies death. He is greatly missed. His music and thatoh so famous train whistle was absolutely amazing.
