They strategy guide (which yes I have) mentions that they programmed into hundreds of events into the game, so I'm not surprised they put in the Donner weather issues.
Donner-Reed Party Blizzard is putting it lightly, more accurately it was the Donner-Reed Party BLIZZARDS. Because there was a lot more than just one epic snow storm that winter.
Oh, this also reminded me of one game I had played where I wasn't far from the beginning, and my wagon got stuck on mud. But that bad part was, no matter how much weight I dumped, it was still stuck. I was still in Missouri past June. Lol. I ended up starting a new game
And I might add, Rock Wall Ascent is best avoided when the terrain is snowy. Not because it's impossible when it's icy, but the people who made the game never made a picture for it when snow is on the ground, so it will either crash, or show the picture for Big Mountain Descent, even though that hill is in Utah. At least then though, the game won't crash but it will show a message saying that it couldn't show the right picture or something. :P
@Yoshikarter1 Interesting. I only went in that direction by accident because I'm not 100% familiar with the Sierra trails, mostly because I usually get dismissed around the Hastings Cutoff. I never knew that there wasn't a picture for the RWA in winter that caused my game to crash in that area in that time of year. Now I know. AND KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE! G I JOE!!

@phillyslasher Well, that would explain why the game spams the player with multiple blizzard and snowbound events if this 'easter egg' is discovered.
