@Migzilla44 if we get android onto the touchpad, we can load android's apps, which is like a million times more apps than what the touchpad has. for example, i want fruit ninja hd on my touchpad, but right now i can only use webos' limited apps. also, i like the ui (the look) of android a lot more...it's more customizable imo.

Looking at WebOS and booting to Android right away shows how much better WebOS is in terms of UI. Android is still juvenile and needs a lot of work to be close to WebOS or even Windows Phone 7 and iOS.

You want true Multi tasking go with WebOS or WP7 Mango

@ariomehr seriously, have you seen honeycomb? Its makes the iOS UI which hasnt changed much in 5 years look like a VTEC kids computer. My touchpad side by side with my galaxy looks like a toy, and is far less customizable along with WP7 and iOS than Android.

@grub685 Why? The hp webOS is horrid, you cant do much of anything with it.. no live wallpapers, no widgets, the multitasking is the same as pressing the multitasking button on the galaxy/xoom. Side by side the webOS loads all applications slower than my galaxy. What benefit does webOS offer over android?

@MtnXfreeride At its current state, the webOS platform was not getting much love from HP. webOS has been known to run on other platforms such as an iPad much faster. So its HP's fault that they didn't fully flesh out the Touchpad like they could have. There is not any particular benefit over Android its just another option in the tablet market. a lot of consumers find the interface less intimidating than Android.

@MtnXfreeride First off, were you lucky enough to get the HP Touchpad? If so, congrats. To answer your question- why not? Developers already proven webOS runs twice as fast on iPad2 hardware. If the hardware is what held back the OS I don't see any reason to put any version of Android on it. I own several Android devices (Galaxy Tab, Dell Streak, rooted Nook Color for a few) and both gen iPads and while I like my devices, the slight lag on Android (even Honeycomb) is just enough to annoy me.

For your statement " you cant do much of anything with it." I think that is really up to the user. I wouldn't mind just browsing the web (it can- also Flash enabled sites), listening to music (it's got Pandora and Tune In Radio), and video calling the parents every now and then (it can do that with Skype video calling). I'd also like to access my files via Dropbox (it can do that as well) I wouldn't mind accessing and editing my own site using WordPress (which it can also do).

@haloavenger Thanks for the tip Halo- I already know what Android can do ( I have several android devices already rooted, some with custom ROMS). I was interested in seeing if WebOS could perform better on different hardware. I would rather see that then someone try to port CM7 or Honeycomb to so-so hardware.
