You set the EG1 and EG2 like they are used for the amps for oscillator 1 and 2, but hey, EG2 is for both of the oscillator's amps, and EG1 is for the filter envelope. And since you never set the 'EG1 Intensity' values, setting EG1 has NO effect!
Excellent thanks for posting.Pity Korg didnt do a video tutorial, learnt more from this vid than reading the laborious manual...... navigation complete lol
Very nice way to show the possibilities of this synth. I have the Radias at home, but seeing someone else do some patches live suddenly makes few things more clear and ideas start to come in. Thank you! Very nicely done.
I really enjoy the Korg radias. I got mine for $500 bucks two years ago from the original owner who was getting out of using hardware. It is a great piece of kit. I am still learning it 2 years later.
Very usefull video....Can i ask you,if you want to use the KORG RADIAS modul with another midi kbd.[a KORG tr for example],can you do that, and with the same performance of sound and programs,or you lose something?
The RADIAS has a MIDI-connector, so you can connect it to every midi-keyboard. You lose nothing: all, except the pitch band and the modulation wheel, is on the main RADIAS board.
If you are really going for a CS80 -The Pulse and Saw and Noise on A CS80 goes serially into the HPF first, and then into the LPF filter with a slight amount of Key Follower on the Filter and after the filter is where the sin wave can be added. Because the Sin wave can not be realised using the Waveshaper, I suggest using a 4 Timbre setup ....1 timbre for bank 1 sawtooth/ pulse/ noise/ with filter ....timbre 2 for sinwave unfiltered(bypass) with the same pitch and AMP EG as Timbre 1....
Excellent - little things like this really help you understand what's going on. The Radias is a really nice synth when you strip away the flash inbuilt patches.
Thanks. It really is an amazing synth. I'm still getting to know it, but building up sounds from the ground up like this is a great way to do that. Thanks for commenting.

@whitewolfy1000 Hi - no, you can attach any midi keyboard and control the synth using that :)

IF you're using a controller besides the Radias keyboard, you can use aftertouch for the filter action instead of the mod wheel.

@slammah2012 then Timbre 3 and 4 would be the Bank 2 counterparts to complete the Dual CS80 Structure.....
Keep all LFO's consistant and synced as the Subosc on a CS80 is Monophonic.
slammah2012 1 year ago
@slammah2012 Yes setting up the filters like this - serial, HPF, LPF with the mod wheel modulating the LPF is getting pretty close....
