I wish I had the long fingers like Paul Gilbert, Jeff Loomis or Steve Vai. I have big hands but my fingers are medium length. I can stretch quite a ways but not as far as the 3 I mentioned.
@ducky811 If it helps I only know two people who have smaller hands than me. Both of them are girls. One of them isn't even 5 feet. I can play guitar alright, but it sucks when you love the sound of wide intervals and yet you can't even reach any. xD
@trinoply Not a real guitar. :P Nah I'm sticking with a normal scale guitar. Mine has a 24.5'' scale length I think. It's good, and the advatages over a guitar that's 3/4 are numerous...
@ducky811 You should probably work on your tapping in this scenario. I have normal/medium sized hands, and though my stretching is okay it's nothing outstanding so if I want to do some really wide interval licks I'll use tapping. Work on tapping with two or even three fingers and stretching those out a bit and you can reach out farther.
@ducky811 Just really work on limbering up your fingers and stretching them every day. Some guitarists with smaller hands like Marty Friedman and even Randy Rhoads can nail big runs and they do not have hands like Vai/Gilbert.

Thats because no one makes 3/4ths, but if you could have one expertly done, it could be cool.
