@HardwiredProductions I can't quite remember since I don't use the HV30 anymore but I know I set it as high as possible in TV mode (1/1000 or 1/2000, something like that).
@AltF4Media Thanks for the reply. That's amazing that you had the shutter speed up that high, because most people say that having it up that high creates bad jittery movement when converted to slow-mo, but yours ins incredibly crisp. Very cool.
I was wondering if you could explain how you were able to get such smooth slow motion from 60i footage. There are a lot of explanations on the web, but very few are clear. Did you deinterlace and convert to 24p using After Effects? This is what I'd like to do, without much loss in quality, which you seem to have done pretty well. Just thought I'd ask, because this clip is superb!
Yes, I had to deinterlace the clips first. I did this by opening a new 59.940(double NTSC) project in Vegas (or any other NLE) and then bringing the clips in. I rendered these clips out as HD 1080p 59 YUV .avi (YUV is a losssless codec you need to get to prevent losing video quality. google it and you should be able to find it). Now I have de-interlaced clips I can use.
I create a new 24p project, drag the clips in, and set the clips to 40% playback. That's it.
Paul was having the time of his life on that tube haha
