@jconstant1 Arrington easily had his best game as a Wolverine in the Capital One Bowl. And Woodson...what can you say? The man is a future first ballot hall of famer
I think Walker's catch was the most amazing. Marquise Walker and Jason Avant caught everything thrown their way and were the two best pure pass-catchers at Michigan that I have seen since about 1990. Maybe not the biggest or fastest, but I loved watching these two play!
god this drybones is on every michigan vid commenting running his big ass mouth. shut the hell up ya little shithead. on another note michigan fans, such a shame bass got hurt and could never recover
@Drybones195 Gee, imagine that. Another comment from you on a Michigan video. You really do love the Maize and Blue, just admit it. It's easier to admit it than be secretly jealous. The reason there isn't one against tOSU? All the catches against OSU were really easy ones.
Great 5 You Shouldve Did Ten.....Arrington CaughtAnother Great Pass That Game.. And The Edwards MSU 3OT Game....The Manningham Catch Vs ND But I Must Say Great Vid Go Blue
I thought I'd disagree at some point, but no. A top six could have AA's earlier catch against the Gators. Avant's was amazing. Saw them all live at the games, or on TV, great moments and memories, thanks for sharing!
poor antonio bass:( he could have been a stud if he didnt blow out his knee, we had arrington breaston and super mario sure, but he would have been a huge aspect :(
dont worry, denard robinson is the new antonio bass. like bass, denard is the fastest player on the team, they both played qb in highschool, and neither of them are going to play qb at michigan.
denard will switch to receiver and trick play player
Hmm... I would've bounced your #5 & #1 in favor of '00Wisky Terrell TD at 5.
My #1 would be '95Virg Hayes TD. Considering the last play of the game, down by 5, with 1 foot at the very corner of the end zone, it was spectacular.
Terrells catch against Wisky and Hayes catch against Virginia were clutch, but in terms of how amazing the catch was, they really weren't all that special. Terrell amde a simple leap to make his catch and all hayes did was get his hand on the ball on the fade from Dreisbach.
You would have bounced Arringtons catch? Look, I know you are disenchanted about whats happened to Michigan the last few seasons (I am as well), but your insistence on throwing the baby (the great plays) out with the bathwater (the dissapointing seasons) is rediculous. Arringtons catch is No.2 if nothing else.
LOL. Michigan State can only beat big brother when the refs are blind or when Michigan is in a rebuilding year. You hav en't beaten a good Michigan team fair and square in over a decade. How humiliating must that feel?
It's not as humuliating as it must feel to consistently have a team full of 4-5 star players and yet for the most part have difficulties beating MSU teams mainly comprised of 2-3 star MAC talent. It's not as humiliating as those 4-5 star talent players losing to a D2 team on opening day on your home turf. Humuliating is going through the trouble of hiring a new coach with a checkered past, paying him millions and he in turn takes this team of 4-5 star players that finished 9-4 the previous
season and won the Capitol One Bowl and coaches them to an abysmal 3-9 record all the while forcing a offense that probably is not going to work in the Big 10 down the throats of the program and then having the humiliation of watching the exodus of 4-5 star players transfer to other schools and others like Shavoderick Beaver who you UM fans bragged about for awhile decommit . Humiliation is having a stadium that seats over
plus in a few years michigan will be the new death valley. our teams gonna kick ass and our stadium will be rockin from all the noise that can stay in the stadium now insted of just evaporate.
The dude busted his knee up in March 2006, which cost him his entire true sophomore season, and then he busted his knee again in March 2007, ending his career. We didn't miss Bass in the receiving game at all, but we so could have used him at QB in 2008. Oh well. ):
i think keith michaels said that bass was potentially the best athlete he'd ever seen @ michigan.he would've wiped the floor with defenses @qb in 2008 if he were healthy.
Well, of all of Edwards 252 career catches, i didn't feel like any of them could top the 5 catches I've posted. I guess I could ahve posted his little 1 handed cacth against Purdue, but I felt Antonio bass catch was more impressive. Edwards had meany memorab;e catches, but i don't think he had a cacth that was as spectcular as the 5 in this video.
thats true. Arrington had that wrap around cacth in the fitst quarter. Arrington was my favorite Wolverine from the 2007 team. he had so many fantastic highlight reel catches.
i was gonna disagree with the list on 3 reasons two of those reasons were knocked out by the top 2 and the one left is the catch manningham had against penn state or against michigan state
I'm not trying to discredit that amazing int by Woodson, I'm justs aying the catch by Arrington was more imprssive cause Arrington had a man all over him whereas Woodson didn't. Everything about their catches is even. But the tiebreaker is the fact that Arrington had a man in his face while Woodson didn't. I can't be biased towards Woodson. I ahve to judge on spectacularty and not on who made the play.
Mmm great video, I think Charles Woodson should be number one and Arrington is number two. I mean, you probably will never see anything like Woodson's in a looong time from Michigan. 5 stars though.
The reason i think Arrington's catch is number 1 is because he had to reach over the Florida defenders back while silumtaneously jugging it, and he still realed it in. That, in my opinion, is slightly more spectacular then making a leaping one handed catch with no one in your face.
BUT, how many times are you going to see someone leap like, what 4 feet in the air to make a pick that was thrown away. Not often. I do realize Arrington's was a great catch, beautiful, perfect at the time, but I just think Charles Woodson's catch was near impossible.
Both of those catches are beauties you will only see once every decade. And for the simple reason that Woodson didn't ahve a ma in his face where as Arrington had a man all over him, I think Arringtons catch was slightly LESS possible then Woodsons
But there's no reason to argue over it. Both catches were AMAZING!
@jconstant1 Arrington easily had his best game as a Wolverine in the Capital One Bowl. And Woodson...what can you say? The man is a future first ballot hall of famer

My judgement had nothing to do with who made the play...I just think the athletic ability to make the catch was much higher in the Woodson play.
lowestfrequency 3 years ago
I'm going to have to disagree with your statement on the Woodson INT: "...a leaping one handed catch with no one in your face".
He jumped at least three feet in the air, caught the ball *backhanded* with his right hand, and managed to toe the line.
At any rate...why don't we go 1 and 1a?
