This thing rocks. Like all other Noctua products..
Running my i7 2600K at 5.2 GHz with this cooler. 76 max load with prime/linpack.
55-60 in games.
And it's very silent too.
Best air cooler at the moment, for sure. The Silver Arrow is close, but with high OCs the Noctua is better (check OC3D comparison fx - but i've experienced it myself. The Silver Arrow could only 5 GHz with my i7 2600K and went to 84 load and failed on 5.2)
@monstersilk It looks like it, but no it will not break your mobo. I've always been uncomfortable with gigantic coolers because they look so dangerous on there.
@Frozenkex Yeah I have to agree it is pretty dumb they use colors that nothing else uses at all which makes it a turnoff for the overwhelming majority of buyers who value aesthetics as well as performance.
@airsoftrulzpaintball it will definitely fit with ripjaws ram, there is actually a handy video on youtube. Search up noctua dh 14 with ripjaws ram or something like that.
Linus, there's no video about the NH-D14's compatibility with current LGA 2011 motherboards. Can you please make one? I'd appreciate a response. Thanks in advance.
Linus, you should know by now not to spin the fans. They act as little motors, so when you spin them you create current. When connecting to your PC motherboard you have a chance of a short circuit. Come on man, you should know this haha!
this gay man is kidding right? If you but a car radiator and connect an shop fan it will cool. Fuck this guy in his already lubricated anus and his absurdly huge cooler
@iRant4u NO! however it is major over kill and overkill on a computer is usually always good lol. I would love to have this but I'd have to mod my phantom for it to even fit :P
@Sleepinglion22 haha :) its just huge is all idk if i could fit it in a mid-tower... But eh. I might just get a different kind of cooler with heat pipes cause I mean i dont mean to play hardcore-ass games, but getting into programming I would like to be able to handle HD graphics yknow? :) im lookin for mah first job this weeke,d so I can start paying for it :D
OK guys. I have an AMD 1100t which I would LIKE to oc insanely, say, 5ghz. I am wondering, would a Cooler Master v6 be enough, or would I have to go NH-D14?
@TheArcticWonder you should do custom water cooling to reach that speed. But of the two coolers, get the NH-D14 , some dude managed to hit 5 ghz on the i7 970 using that cooler.
P.S. NCIX right now has a member's special on that same cooler, for about $55 ;D
@linkobinko Honestly, how much noticeable performance increase is there between 3.3ghz and 4.5ghz? I don't want to spend money on something that in the long run is purely bragging rights..
@TheArcticWonder You should watch Linus's video on futureproofing, where he explains how its worthwhile to spend money on you cooler. /watch?v=FK4ip08auGg
In terms of performance, depends on the task. CPU heavy applications would work faster. Read "OC vs. Stock: Is it worth it? Full Review and Benchmark with Real World Components" on oveclock dot net to get some clarity in to the issue. (just google the title)
P.S. I would give you the direct links, but youtube's being a douche.
I foresee broken mobos 'cos of people having problems accepting their small penis sizes. Because unlike South Parks depiction of Japans enviousness towards the American penis, it really isn't that big.

@m0ng0masher1 Go with the h70. Performances are overall the same. @TearsOfWar1 you'll never mistake them for anything else, which is the goal of premium products anywhere, not to mention it goes brilliantly with the sabertooth line
@TearsOfWar1 thats their thing its just what they do. theyre trying to stand out and they are doing it very well. when you think of "top-of-the-line" cpu coolers you think "noctua"
I don't care that the fans are ugly because I'm not staring at the side of my case all day.
