  • Betty your like my cooking mum

  • When you said whipping cream in one part and in another part you said heavy whipping cream did you mean use the whipping cream for the 2nd part and for the 1st part? Were they the same when you made it?

  • @110cottoncandy It is the same whipping cream in both parts.

    --Betty :)

  • Can I use a cream that only has 30% fat?

  • @110cottoncandy You might be successful, but I can't guarantee it.

    --Betty :)

  • Can I make the heavy whipping cream? If I can how much of the ingredients would I need to make it if I could? If I can't make the heavy whipping cream can I use 5% light cream of half and half?

  • @110cottoncandy I have not been able to find a substitute for heavy whipping cream. In order for the cream to whip, it must be at least 36% fat.

  • @TaleahTruongg Thanks for your sweet comment!

  • can u use white chocolate to make white chocolate mousse?? would it turn out good?

  • @aurelinda68 Yes, you may use white chocolate. That would taste very good.

    --Betty :)

  • Betty i love you videos i only found you today! i'm hooked! Just wondering what kind of chocolate chips you use?we don't get chocolate chips like that in ireland i will try to get the chips online!

  • @caoimha I don't use a particular brand. Hershey's is always good; also Nestles. I usually just use the store brand.

    --Betty :)

  • That looks so good.

  • @KBAFourthtime Thanks for your sweet comment!

    --Betty :)

  • betty this stuff is AMAZINGG!!! soo good:)

ur gorgeous... u should make a video showing your makeup/hair/beauty routine!

  • @0913gina Thanks for your comment! I really appreciate it! I don't think I do a great job with my hair and makeup--I'm not one to give advice on that! (But thanks for thinking so.)

    --Betty :)

  • this may sound strange but your videos give me a sense of peace, idk your voice is so relaxing and i love how you do everything so carefully , :) Love you videos , keep em coming !

  • @bdott77 I get this comment a lot. Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • @runningman497 If you use Reddi-Whip or Cool Whip, they will not be as sturdy as whipped cream. If that is okay with you, then you could substitute them. Also, white chocolate is fine, but will not taste the same as the dark chocolate.

    --Betty :)

  • I wanted to make this for Christmas, but I didn't get the chance to...but today I had the day off from work, and so I made it this evening for family for dessert...and they loved it! Thanks for posting the videos...I always look forward to see what new video you have posted for the day...Keep posting your recipes!

  • @soulmate26926250 Thanks for your wonderful feedback! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • how can u maintain ur gorgeous figure after all that delicious recipes?

  • @cottonfields32 I am very disciplined in my eating habits. I do make decadent desserts occasionally, but most of what I eat is very healthy and low in fat and sugar. But I never deny myself of any food--I just take a very small portion.

    --Betty :)

  • Yummy looking!

  • yummy

  • Oh Betty, I made this for our Thanksgiving table and it all went before the pies, cakes and other desserts. I made it the night before and served it out of a pretty glass bowl with whipped cream. It was great! Thanks, Fran

  • @franc751 Thanks for your wonderful feedback! I really appreciate it!

  • looks beautiful! the cherry, whipped cream, and mint makes it look like the perfect christmas dessert!

  • hi, can you use milk chocolate ?

  • The only thing i did different was use 2 tablespoons of the sugar. Fantastic =)

  • I made this an hour ago and everyone loved it! i had to do it with a whisk though because I don't have a mixer. Thank you!

  • Betty, if I wanted to make this recipe for.. at the very least 13 people, how much more of the ingredients do you think I'd need to use? It looks fantastic!

  • wonderfull recipe and congrats on getting into the book

  • Am I able to use a spoon to beat the cream because I dont have that machine that you have. By the way... I love your recipe once again!

  • @Tahtah Cutie 52 No. You will be stirring it for days. You need the air you get from a beater or whisk. The fast motion is what glues the fat molecules together. You can use a hand whisk. Just make sure your bowl is chilled. If you've never worked with heavy whipping cream there is a stopping point to whipping it. If you go too far it will separate on you and you will have butter. I love using a whisk. You can use either a French whip or a balloon whisk. A balloon whisk will give you more air.

  • @LeakFreak Thanks! I have a hand whisk and never knew I could also use it for this. Thanks!

  • @PainterofYou Thanks! You can get the sweater at newport-news(dot)com.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen hey betty i am just glad i found your videos. i am only 16 and thanks to you my parents think i am a professional cooker. i make food all the time now with your recipes for my mom and dad thank you i love youuu

  • thanks for this recipe Betty. I stopped ordering choc mousse at resturants years ago when I discovered they were made using raw egg! this is great, now I can make it myself and not worry about food poisoning. congrat's on making the ebook.

  • @imtoohungry05 Thanks for your sweet comment! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • @imtoohungry05 I've found poisoning from raw eggs is actually QUITE rare.

the chance is around: .0003%, so if you eat raw eggs everyday of your life and buy loto tickets, I bet you win the lottery before you get a bad egg ;). Egg whites can cause some defeciency so don't eat a whole bunch!

  • Congratulations on the cookbook Betty, it is very well deserved. The chocolate mousse looks amazing, thanks.

  • Ohhhh Betty that's just wonderful that they picked you for the cookbook !!!! When you made the annoucement you looked like you were bursting to tell us something too! I could totally tell! OMG how wonderful is that !!!! See - all your hard work has paid off. I'm so VERY happy for you Betty. I even ran & got my daughter & told her to watch your announcement! We are BOTH very proud of you!! What dish did they pick of yours?? Ohhh this is so wonderful!!! CONGRADULATIONS BETTY!!! A+

  • @ohpineapples Thank you! You are so sweet!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Hi Betty. I seen that they put a bunch of your dishes on ebook. I thought they they picked 1 or something like that. Then I went to it and I seen a bunch of yours. That's Great!! I bet your daughter is really, really proud of her Mom! Congrats again. Like I said before ALL your hard work paid off on Youtube! I don't see this as being an end to what great things are coming for you! Congrats !! Have a great Sunday and celebrate !! = )))

  • @ohpineapples Thanks for your sweet comment and all of the support you have given me in bettyskitchen!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty, you look beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have never made this but i certainly am for the holidays. thanks so much!! i just love your outfit :)

  • super like!

i'll try this Lover's Mousse along with your Choco Lava Cake.. and I was thinking that i'll use this mousse as topping to the leftover choco pudding from the Choco Lava Cake Recipe.

*This is the first time I've seen Betty wore eyeglasses :) and congrats!

  • how to make the penut butter mousse

  • @EllaMaisoon Do it exactly like the chocolate mousse, just use peanut butter chips.

    --Betty :)

  • oo how great! can't wait to try: p.s put it in a large dish and put crushed up kit kats, crushed pecans, and boil some sugar and pour on baking sheet and break up like brittle and sprinkle on top of the mousse as well for crunch. So no egg white is okay?

  • @noshi1983 I like the idea of the kit kats, crushed pecans and caramelized sugar! This version of chocolate mousse uses whipped cream to get its fluffy texture--no need for egg whites!

    --Betty :)

  • Well this looks another very tasty one Betty. I can't think of anyone in our family who doesn't like chocolate, so this will be a popular recipe for many. The finished mousse looks lovely and well presented too....Richard :-)

  • Congrats ^^

BTW, I Really Love Your Channel.

    Goodluck and Godbless.

I recently discovered your videos and I absolutely LOVE your recipes and suggestions. I already tried your Bon bons (which were absolutely delicious) and I'll definitely try this one soon.

  • I can't get whip topping in England, well I don't know what it is, any suggestions?

  • @CarolanProductions You can whip cream and sweeten it with sugar, icing sugar, or artificial sweetener, and then use it as whipped topping!

    --Betty :)

  • Congrats betty, the mousse looks delicious, i plan on making it for thanksgiving..thanks for the recipe and i will check out the cook book :)

  • betty ! i want to make this so badly but i cannot find heavy whipping cream near me... can it be optional ? or else i will try finding it in anywhere.. and also i don't have semi sweet company near me for the chocolate chips but i will be using the van houten one...will it be possible to be using that ?? ~

    Filzah ~ ~

  • @filzah102 Hi Filzah! I can't think of a good substitue for whipping cream, other than whipped topping. For the chocolate, any type will be fine.

    --Betty :)

  • congrats betty

  • The Mousse looks amazing and congrats!

  • Hi betty! great mousse! I've noticed you use a big spoon to melt chocolate and I think it woul be easier if you used a wooden spoon as it is smaller and when you turn to the whisk, you wont waste chocolate or any kind of preparation you are making.

    Love!!!

  • Congrats Betty! By the way, you always wear the cutest outfits! :0)

    -Ann

  • @TheMOstang1 Thanks for your sweet comment! It was about equal time to get from cream to frothy and then frothy to soft peaks--about 2 minutes each time. (I was using high speed on my mixer.)

    --Betty :)

  • this recipe looks so tasty.

  • jumbo chocolate chips mmmmmm lol

  • @esterlaroux You can change the chocolate chips to whatever chips you like--it just won't be a traditional chocolate mousse.
