  • This song and moment of silence are both about Catch 22

  • Fuck I love the drums

  • @vietdumbass I love the bass

  • The most intense is definitely Nobody Wins At The Laundromat by the Mad Caddies but this one is second for sure

  • I'm pretty sure there's absolutely nothing like this band.

  • Not long enough.

  • The most intense song I've ever heard in the ska genre so far. I absolutely love it. This is one of the greatest bands ever.

  • GNARLY!

  • is it me or the lyrics of a moment of violence/silence seem to be different tenses of eachother? and have the same beat?

  • @Omnipotentguy420 almost. They have the same beat, but different lyrics. A moment of silence is about how the smallest actions can affect in a big way. This is about how we cant stop with violence

  • @Omnipotentguy420 I think they're meant to go together, like they're different parts of the one song

  • such an awesome song! lyrics are epic! best band EVA :D

  • Anooooo :D

  • have you done a single thing for someone else?

or do you take take take until your belly is stuffed?

  • why does it seem the ones who have everything have nothing inside?

  • i farted

  • @theboredman1 your sooo cool

  • @gioDKM if you compare them to every other band, ska, punk, hardcore, metalcore, metal, basically all rock. You can definatly put them in the top ten. Because like, not only the stuff like, musical talent, but look at all their albums. If you take the time to look at how each album is connected, it kinda tells a story. And kalnoky knows this. And i'm suprised he could write so much of it. Espically his project BOTAR. i would love to see whats going through his mind (lol ima musician) so yeah.

  • This is song hits me hard. Its just something about it.

  • SLAMMMMMMMMMMMM!

  • this song makes me want to get some adrenaline flowing

  • streetlight manifesto is a houl new level of ska

  • isnt this the same song as a moment of silence but just sped up? haha

  • @obamafan8 Not exactly... the music's altered as well. The brass in A Moment of Silence is supposed to sound like funerary trumpets, in keeping with the title of the song; here it's twisted more into a clarion call, a call to arms, to reflect the altered title. Also, the two verses are different. The whole song's been tweaked to sound more active and less passive.

  • 2 people who suck!!

  • i think we can consider Tomas the new Chuck Norris

  • @qwerty123456091 Tomas Kalnoky has a third fist in his hat

  • @Dvividxx There's the first wave, which is essentially a precursor to reggae and rocksteady. I believe it originated in Jamacia, but I could be very wrong. The second wave, or "Two Tone" Ska was in the 70s and was essentially the "British invasion" of Ska music. Finally we have the "Thrid Wave which is a blend of ska and punk-rock like streetlight.

  • @mainecolbs It's more like first wave was the 70's Jamaican Ska, with Prince Buster and the like. Then second wave was in the 80's/90's with bands like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, that's where the black suit and checkered patterns comes from. Then you get third wave in the 90's with Reel Big Fish or Goldfinger, who are more like punk rock than reggae or "traditional" ska. And then you get streetlight, who are pretty original for ska, and some people are calling "fourth wave."

  • @ihappy1 First wave was definitly in the 50's and 60's whereas second wave was late 70's - mid 80's Third Wave stuff is late 80's to now. Calling a fourth wave is silly because thirdwave bands are still up front and center. I think a backsplash or a resurgence from the lack of ska in the 2000-2007-8 is more appropriate.

  • Why aren't they on the radio??!!!!

  • @Progressionification Because radio sucks?

  • @robbycastro lol my friend that just got you a laugh and a thumbs up

  • @Progressionification ever hear of clear channel aka the corporate radio empire

  • Not only the best ska band but one of the best bands ever.

  • This song is basiclly A Moment of Silence on acid lmao i love this song

  • They played this song at their show in Chicago. 2 minutes straight of intense moshing. incredible. Best. Show. Ever.

  • this song gets me pumped i feel like running and jumping and overthrowing governments. cuz its my last chance to make my mother and my father proud. Who wants to join me in overthrowing governments???

  • @spawn2192 I want to join you

  • @spawn2192 Nah, no thanks.

  • @angryguy306 are you sure you dont want to join in on this anarchy?

  • @spawn2192 me likes da anarchy

  • @spawn2192 Down with the Illuminati

  • @spawn2192 Yes. Get Obama the fuck out of here!

  • @spawn2192 that such a poser thing to say if you truly wanted to overthrow anything you wouldnt post it on here.smart one. not trying to put you down just telling you anybody can see everyhting thats on here

  • I always get confused between this and A Moment Of Silence

  • this is motherfucking hardcore jazz!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tito720 3rd wave ska but yea i c where ur comin from

  • the continuation of moment of silence

  • Why are we talking about what languages ska is best in? Ska is good in all languages because ska is better than anything elsein the world.

  • from what i heard, this song is the track right after a moment of silence, on the CD, so it's like a second part, that's why they have the same chorus and sound very much alike =)

    i love streetlight manifesto !

  • cmon is a good band but ska is always better in spanish real ska is in sanish

  • @cHuiiiTo0 "real" ska is in English and Patois.

  • this song makes me feel like a bad ass

  • it is a different song that sounds similar but has a completely different meaning

  • the chorus in this song isnt even the same as a moment of silence. example: in this it says "the final mayday of our sinking ship has come at last" where as in a momnet of silence it is "the final mayday of our sinking ship has COME AND PASSED"

  • @InTheFlame1

    What an outrageously large difference.

  • changes the meaning completey.

  • nooooooo....? this song sounds like 'a moment of silence'? I never noticed!

  • @palkian90 yes it is, the second part of the lyrics is the same. just like the continuation of "a moment of silence"

  • @sk8rcow i was being sarcastic, lol

  • lol no shit the lyrics are practically the same. OMG did you notice the names of the song are similar too???!!! lol it was obviously intentional

  • Why is this song so similar to A Moment of Silence? The tune, especially at the beginning is the same, and so are half the lyrics. I guess the title is almost the exact same too...

  • ....really?. just listen to the lyrics you'll understand hopefully. if not, you should listen to some reel big fish

  • This and AMOS are the best songs ever >:D

  • my favorite song from streetlight... everytime this song comes out when i'm skating i end up doing something crazy that i never would do before!lol

  • Love it ^^

    Skaaa (y)

  • i think it was very well put together. =D i love Streetlight Manifesto!

  • A "moment of violence" and a "moment of silence" both include the line: Your last chance to make your mother and father proud

    Great Song! 5 stars

  • they were made to be similar to each other. They also both pause and yell "OH!" and say "How long do you think you can go before you lose it all." and in the verse when they say that the music is the same!!!!

  • they have a ton of lines in common :P

  • Unless I am mistaken the sung part of the chorus is taken word for word and note for note from A Moment of Silence.

  • nope, its just the chorus thats the same =P

  • True Great song :') 5/5

  • THERE BOTH GREAT.!

    U CANT BETWEEN BOTH. (x

    FUCKING GREAT MAN.

  • a moment of silence and a moment of violence both go togeter. you will like violence more if you listen so silence right before. amazing songs

  • I intended to use this song on a Sniping Montage I am making for CoD4: MW. It's just too short to fit all my stuff in. But I guess I'll have to trim some of the footage off because I am determined to use this song. Ahhh, if only it were longer...

  • just use moment of silence during the chorus or something, or loop a ceartain part or repeat.

  • I considered a repeat, its just I always thought they break the flow of a video. The beginning is similair to the end but the end has more of a saddened sense to it. I guess a loop is a good choice though.

  • just make a longer montage and put two streetlight songs lol

  • Whoah, that's awesome dude.

  • MW?? the sniping on MW is a lil to glamorized for me, the lvls are all a lil to small for sniping in my eyes,

    ya know?

although a good sniper montage is cool on any game,

    hs no scopes ftw lol,

  • excellent song

  • great song. great band. but i like a moment of silence better

  • blet gera daina

  • this is the best ska band..anybody kno if the made an album after somewhere in the between?????

  • Um they haven't yet but they are about to put out the new album 99 songs of the revolution.

  • @mithrilgeek Will it actually have 99 songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!????

  • @mithrilgeek hahaha ska-p is the best ska band

  • @mithrilgeek when?

  • @LinkinParkFan2653 new album on the way :D :D :D

  • Manu Chao are trully talented, and if people like this, then check out MANU CHAO!

  • Serisouly dude.. But Manu Chao is more foreign music...

  • The best ska band ever.

  • Sure one of the best ska bands but Mano Chao and SKA P are also britlant ska bands^^

  • also try mustard plugg and the aquabats

  • they both rock! love em

  • RBF

  • Most definatly one of the best, but i'd say Operation Ivy is pretty fuckin' awesome.

  • YES!

    Operation Ivy!

The first punk band I listened to!

    Pick it uppp

  • @stolencheezburger some people say theyre hardcore jazz, and not ska. but they have elements of both, i think.

  • @cheeseman4444

    Ok smartass.

  • @stolencheezburger no problem dickhead

  • @cheeseman4444

Have a nice day, cunt. :)

  • @stolencheezburger third wave ska, if you wanna be posh.

  • @stolencheezburger one of the best bands/musicians ever.

  • @dXAriseXb

Whatever. Why the fuck did you reply to my comment, anyway?

  • @stolencheezburger cuz u said they were one of the best SKA bands ever.. they're just one of the best over all

  • @dXAriseXb

Okay FIRST of all, learn to spell. And second of all, that is YOUR opinion.

  • @stolencheezburger ok first off i'm on the internet typing on a youtube video is this better for you? i don't give a shit about my spelling online i can easily spell perfectly if i wanted to. And second off you don't really have to be such an asshole about it. And third off Taking into consideration, Tomas Kalnoky is a musical genius. He's up there with the great musical artists in history. He has started a new wave a ska, has created this unique ska/acoustic/folk/classical/world sound that

  • @stolencheezburger nobody has ever done before. To create your own style of music, and make it work this well is something big. Being a musician myself, i see how perfect this band is. The whole band has amazing skilled players, incredible lyrics that all fit together well if you look at the whole thing, and musically... it's out of this world. It's so unique. People have no idea how amazing he is. Mozart was also hated in his time, but i'm not saying he's like Mozart. Point is he's outstanding

  • @stolencheezburger And streetlight isn't even my favorite band. I like a few bands more than streetlight in my personal view, but looking at it as a musicians view, they are one of the best musicians/bands/artists of all time. Lol and sorry about such a long comment.

  • ANIMAL

  • now everyones laughing because they think they're in on something i dont get dont think i forget i connect and i heard everthing you said like a child who believes he was wronged,if you hate me so much then stop stealing my songs

  • very good

  • i saw them in concert, it was a shame they didnt play this, SMF+Coke=orgasm

  • i wouldn't mind doing a line of SMF

  • agreed

  • damn i wish this s0ng was longer!!!

  • @CrusadesAngel666x lol then listen to a moment of silence

  • @CrusadesAngel666x There is A Moment of Silence, it's the first part of this song, except slower and longer.

  • @CrusadesAngel666x listen to a moment of silence its like the same but slower

  • @CrusadesAngel666x Then it wouldn't be a "moment" of violence.

  • SLM fucking owns

  • muy bueno

  • Moment of Silence is better in my opinion, but this is basically that but faster, with a more angsty tempo. Still really nice. SLM + Coca-Cola = Relaxing Evening.

  • did they pay you to advertise coke? nah im just joking man, i all for advertising, my good friends at smiths chips have made sure of that :)
