  • did you get a chance to watch licence to kill? if so what did you think of it? personally i think its one of the best.

  • I saw Batman on Blu-Ray at Wal-Mart, they had two versions, the Digibook Version for $14.83, and the regular Blu-Ray Case Version for $10.00.

I also saw the Steelbook on Amazon for $16.09.

  • Have you gotten the 20th aniversary digi-book blu-ray of '89 Batman to this day?

  • @Bisbeatle Yes, see my latest package opening videos.

  • Crap now 125 people are going to maybe flame me our maybe send me DT I'm sorry Zanarak about what I said but I hate Walt D so much now. I have alot of trust issues these days.

  • the batman disc art is so ugly

  • Have you gotten the Batman '89 digibook since you've made this?

  • man your lucky 2 for $20 so $10 each that's like £4 in the UK man their a complete ripoff for £23 pounds so $66 for one bond blu-ray and not even on steel book just in regular case man its a complete ripoff

  • Hey Mr. Z.

Was just wondering if you ever got around to watching the License to Kill BluRay yet? You mentioned only seeing bits and pieces of the movie at the time of this vid. I wanted to get your thoughts on the movie. I am a big fan of Dalton in the role. I really liked both of his outings as Bond. Been a fan of his ever since he played Prince Barin in Flash.

    Did you like the movie?

    How bout Annetta?

  • For me I just like the first two Batman films. Batman Forever was more or less Batman and Robin.

  • @DANIELDUDE1000

Naah, "Forever" was still good no?

Even if a little more "childish" or something.

Pretty much the same style, those two films, but "Forever" feels more like a mix of Burton and Schumacher, and it makes sense cause Burton still produced it.

But for the rest I still found it really dark and everything, great performances by the actors too.

Jim Carrey is disturbing in it. :D

Interesting how he had another dark role in another Schumacher-film; 'The Number 23'.

  • Zaranyzerak

Do you think it is worth picking up the Spider-Man Blu-Ray Trilogy Boxset?

  • Well, the transfers are really nice on all 3, but only the third one has any extras to speak of. None of the previous DVD extras were ported over for the Blu-ray versions of the first 2. Personally, I'm holding off until they ALL get the proper deluxe treatment, but if you just want the movies in nice HD quality then go for it.

  • @Zaranyzerak

I really dislike how it's one of those shoved-out-the-door BD-sets.

With a "blu" backdrop behind Spider-Man and all...

I might personally just stuff the BDs into my DVD-boxes, cause I have some special versions of those.

And if they have some extra bonus-material, keep the second discs in there too, unless there is also stuff on the film-discs, I'd be kinda screwed... :P

Do you know if there are also extras on the film-discs not on the BDs?

  • @Zaranyzerak

I like my rootbeer diet not caffeniated"My pills are wearing offf. Pardon the madness. haaaaaa

  • @Zaranyzerak

poor mgm studios. Disney you theives you deserved to go under. You stole evry idea except for bloody mickey mouse and his friends. Beauty and the beeast and sleeping beautiy and snow white you stole from the grim brothers never gave them credits. You stole little mermaid from hans cristine anderson. you stole 20000 thousand from jules verne. I don;t care if you early films were hits.

  • The first season for Heroes is good but later it gets really dry i stoped watch but i dunno what's going on anymore...

  • You want the Adam West movie?

  • Of course, I grew up watching the 60's Batman. Good, cheesy, psychedelic fun!

  • @Zaranyzerak Haha! Yeh, I can see were you are coming from...... Don't think they'll put it out on blu-ray though. But I've seen the DVD plenty of places!

  • The 60's movie has been on Blu-ray for a while. (Since July 1, 2008 to be specific...)

  • @Zaranyzerak Wow. You sure know you're stuff!

  • Comment removed

  • Don't forget it's better than "Batman & Robin" that film still gives me nightmares about Bat nipples XD!

  • Hey Zaranyzerak...Do you have a page on AmazonCA showing all that you are selling that i could look at?

  • For some reason, amazon doesn't seem to give sellers a central page where it displays all their items for buyers...just the individual listings. If I find a way to show everything, I'll put up a link for ya.

  • Thanks Zaranyzerak. I would love to see everything you are selling.

  • @Zaranyzerak

disney is scum they make teen booper shit like Hana montand the buy marvel for evil bad reasons. We going to bride the stupid dumb little boys into watch are stuff. So were going to screw over the tennagerrs and adult super hero audiuence by discontiuned there stupid marvel zombie's series. Because soccer mons an bible basser are the law of the world. It makes me sick. If I offend you I'm sorry.

  • I hope you got a good price selling your old dvd format batman anthology because it's becoming pretty valuable.

  • Nope, I got completely ripped off (seriously, the local pawn shop gives shit for used DVDs, even when they're perfect condition and rare like mine...). Live and learn...

  • @Zaranyzerak You would be better off selling stuff online than taking to a pawn shop. I'm sure theres stuff you get rid of that i'd be interested in buying. Oh well, its happened to all of us.

  • Yes, that's what I would have done at the time but didn't have a credit card to set up an online seller account anywhere. So it was either the pawn shop or nothing. Have one now, not using the pawn shops again, currently selling some stuff on amazon ca.

  • Heroes was awesome by the 1st season.now the show is going down hill

  • Some great flicks there Zaranyzerak. But what i am dying to know is whether you and the Mrs. have seen Avatar yet???

  • Nope, not yet. Probably won't be able to see it until it comes out on Blu-ray.

  • Content FTW!!! Well spoken.

I'm a bondmaniac. Love all the movies, even the bad ones. hehehehe

    Beautiful Batman box.

  • I like how you put like "what are you really a fan of".

Cause I kind of do hate those Blu-elitists with their libraries of hundreds to thousands of BDs and pretending they're all sacred or something.

While probably a 4th or something of the BD-releases aren't even that good.

Either a bad transfer or very barebone, like most pre-2008-9-releases...

Personally I'm honestly a fan of content and quality.

I just see if I like a version on BD, if not I'll wait. Unless I can't I'll get the DVD. :P

  • Btw, I also got the "Batman"-set, first got the UK-set, but didn't like how they put the same design on a flat sleeve around 4 UK-cases.

But it's a great upgrade from the barebone 1998-DVDs I had alone.

Which had no extras and pretty bad quality, only just acceptable.

My favorite of the first two is "Returns" though, I just love it, the characters and the atmoshpere etc.

I was shocked finding it almost wasn't made...

"Forever" is different but great too, gladly the actors did a great job.

  • lego indy is great:)

  • lol the part after to be concluded made me jump

  • Well you've made me want to go out and get the original Transformers (1986) movie on blueray. Hopefully I can find it.

  • I think there was a UK Blu-ray release of it, but that's it so far. We're all anxiously awaiting some kind of news from Shout Factory as to whether or not a Blu version is coming...

  • you should do an updated DVD collection video where you go through the shelves and talk about each dvd soon since the old one from early 2008 is pretty outdated by now. lol

  • I find it odd that you still refer to rosie as "the baby"..what..are you intending to sacrifice her to dark gods upon her coming of age or something? Don't want to become too attached? "Clean the sacrifices diapers lest we displease the eternal ones..."

  • I finally bought a bluray player, they are finally getting really cheap here in Denmark and the movies too!

  • Excellent! another Heroes fan!!

  • Hey Zman. I hope you had a great christmas and New Year. All the best to you, Annetta and Rosie.

Quick q, have you got Batman: Arkham Asylum yet? If not...what he heck are you waiting for!? :P

It's only the single greatest comic book- video game ever created. Seriously.

  • Haven't got it yet. As to what I'm waiting for...I'm waiting for it to go down in price. I can't afford to drop 60-70 bucks on new release games too often.

  • You know a comic fan that doesn't enjoy Heroes...me. Can't stand it. Watch the first episode, but just can't get into it. I'd rather watch something with Michael Jackson or Oprah than this "show".

  • Hey, i definitely feel the same way about content, even if I don't intend to watch ALL the extras as soon as i get the dvd/blu-ray. Also, I feel the same way about the doctor who regeneration episode. David Tennant was an excellent doctor, and I believe Matt Smith has what it takes to pull off the character. I am waiting with anticipation for the first episode with him in!

  • Brilliant Batman Box Set, Happy New Year Sean!!!!

  • they got that batman anthology at wal mart for $15 on dvd i was gonna get it but i bought the bladerunner 4 disk collectors edition for $15 instead it's a ok movie

  • I know it's done to death but who is your favorite Joker?

  • Do you like content? ;-)

  • batman ftw

  • I'm a content Freak too!!!

  • lego indiana 2 just came out fyi.

    great update 5*

  • @xXxZOMBIExXxxx

But it isnt worth getting it , the only diffrence is (some) levels are ("slightly") changed and the adding of Indy 4 the raping of the Indy franchise XD

  • I got the Batman Anthology as a Xmas gift. My friend said he paid $20 for it and it's in good condition, still sealed. I gave him the complete 1980's Astroboy cartoon series, since he's a bigger anime fan than I am. 51 episodes in color and it cost less than $20.

  • Yeahhhhhhhhhhh I got the Batman Anthology the day it came out back in March and paid 110 bucks for it.

    Starting to regret that.

  • I just have Batman '89 and it was before the digibook version. I manage to get it in Ameoba. It's the worlds largest independent record store that sells everything: audio cassettes, vinyl records, CDs, VHS cassettes, Laserdiscs, DVDs, HD-DVDs, and Blu-ray. My copy of Batman '89 was imported but it multi-region so it's able to work in my PS3 and I think it was for $14.99 USD. :)

  • Ameoba in L.A. was cool. I got Thirteen Ghosts and Alien VS Predator for 5 bucks each because they were region b. Played perfect on my PS3 though. Dont own a stand alone blu ray player.

  • You shouldn't only get the Batman DC animated original movies, all of them are good.

  • I'm planning to, but Batman comes first. :)

  • Well of course Batman comes first! And I know you'll enjoy Gotham Knight. The animation is phenomenal.

  • good move on the indiana jones lego style boss

  • You should get The Critic.

  • I plan to, used to watch it a lot when it was originally on.

  • I like Batman and Batman Returns the best.

  • HEROES!! Love it--of course , I have 1-3 seasons, 4 is not out yet =*( looking forward to the 5th season!

I bought that Batman anothogly (DVD)for $15 new @ wal mart...batman and robin was ..just embarrasing lol

    Awesome stuff!

    5*

  • don't expect a 5th season of heroes

  • I'm wondering when Fox is going to release the rest of the Futurama movies on Blu Ray, I've enjoyed the video commentary on Bender's Game, and Wild Green Yonder.

  • Sean, I have the Batman Anthology on Blu-ray too, and I also have Licence to Kill on Blu-ray also, I even have The Man with the Golden Gun!

  • nice update futureshop had a James Bond set (3 movies) for 25 bucks. But i think you already have the ones other than License to Kill.

  • I am liking the mash of names in your titles !

  • I am probably gonna pick up the Batman 20th Anniversary Edition Blu-Ray, and Batman Returns when it gets a individual Blu-Ray release.

  • Its a shame MGM gave up on Bond, in the UK we only had the first wave

  • Well, I don't think it's so much that they gave up on it, but rather that they can't do anything with it while the company is in the process of being sold. What irks me is they stopped the SteelBooks after the second wave...

  • True but fox still own the dist. rights for the time being.

I wish I did not buy the UK box set as it will not match anything

  • Ack...sounds like we both won't win this one, no matter what we do. Sigh...

  • Can you do a review on the Futurama box sets please

  • I've not seen Heroes all the way through. I really need to watch it soon.

  • BATMAN!!! :D

  • I recently picked up season's 1 2 and 3 of heroes on dvd. each season cost me 19.99. found them at a Giant Tiger store. Giant Tiger dose not sell a lot of dvd's but they have some damn good deals, I also picked up the third season of six feet under for 19.99, and that's a freaking HBO show!

  • Don't worry Sean, we'll get you to Blu-ray Snob status in no time.

  • Tenth Doctor has died, and we will miss him......

......Grieving over, have you seen the preview of Matt Smith? Can't wait

  • Just ordered a 6 film box set from Amazon of classic 1950's Sci-fi Movies, do you collect them ?

  • License to Kill is a Top 5 Bond of all time, enjoy!

  • did you watch end of time part 2

  • how could you not get the '66 batman on blu? such a great film! (my opinion, anyways)

can't wait for blu-ray releases of the '40s serials!

oh, and don't get your hopes up for heroes seasons 2+

i know, "season 1 is great, how can they drop the ball?" believe me, they sure know how to drop the ball.

  • License To Kill was a very underrated James Bond movie.

The Living Daylights is my favourite of the Timothy Dalton Bond Films but License To Kill is pretty damn good.

  • Oh, yes that reminds me, Today Matt Smith is now officially the doctor. I hope he plays the part well, although hearing that he's doing it "His way" makes me fearful. It can't be that bad though, counting that Steven Moffat is taking over as the writer, and all the episodes he wrote won awards.

    Only time will tell.

    ~REGIFISHY~

  • Ah I always liked the theme to Licence to kill.

On that note Timothy Dalton was an excellent but alas unloved Bond.

Looking forward to knew Doctor Who series, the new Doctor seemed exciting in the minute he appeared!

Arrrghh I'm a girl! No! Still Not Ginger!

  • Just saw this tonight, definitely a three-hanky regeneration episode!

I see a lot of fans complaining about The Doctor visiting some of the old companions for the last time, but I actually really enjoyed that bit and thought it had lots of nice little moments. Wonderful, epic send-off for an amazing Doctor.

Just saw the Matt Smith preview trailer tonight as well, looks promising! It's always a treat when a new Doctor is introduced...dying to see what he does with the role!

  • Have you got any Futurama seasons, I love batman and Licence to kill is one of my fave bond films

  • I've got all the Futurama seasons, and the first two recent movies. LOVE that show.

  • I'll buy blurays for newer movies with nice special effects, but I generally still buy all my horror on regular DVD. The crappier quality is part of the fun.

  • lego adventures? wtf.

    shout out to calgary

  • What do you think of digital downloads? If they took over disc formats how would you feel?

  • How do you know if the Bluray is a good transfer?

  • Check a variety review sites for the professional opinions, user forums for personal opinions, and look at screenshot comparisons with other releases.

  • there's this new invention called tech reviews, might wanna look into it.

  • i have the two disc special edition of batman on dvd with alot extras and the 2 music videos by prince which i got from burlington coat factory of all places for 5 bucks on black friday

  • It is no surprise that you have so many great Blu-Rays this day.

  • As much as I love that the Batman Anthology set (for its sheer amount of quality), I think the only decent movie from that set is the 1989 film. In Batman Returns, Catwoman and Penguin were way off character from the comics and the animated series, as for the Joel Schumacher movies they are pretty much an unfunny version of the Adam West Batman material.

  • Season 1 of Heroes is pretty solid but the subsequent seasons are BAD! The characters become so unlikable that I wonder why I was able to finish Seasons 2 and 3. Id say that Season 1 should be called the complete series of Heroes.

  • I thought the 1st batman movie was corny. Jack Nicholson was good, but the story was so messed up about the joker that it really bothered me (Joker Killed Batman parents wtf) But it is a good movie, corny, but good.

  • Yeah, the whole Joker killing Batman's parents...and having a NAME (Jack Napier? Who?) always bugged me. but I love the look and feel of that one so much - GOTHAM has never looked more stunning, and I still think it's Danny Elfman's best score ever (that he seems to shamelessly borrow from all the time since in subsequent scores...). There's a cheese factor, but I can easily forgive that for all the positive aspects of it.

  • Nooooooooooooooooooooooo you bastered so much for sending you Batman for your page sigh back to square one as it were hehe so jealous of it though & Heroes to sweet!

  • Oh, thank goodness! I thought you said Rosie picked up a Marnie DVD!

  • Boxing day sales, you call them that too!

  • I saw the 89 batman in the cinema when it first came out ,and i swear ,that when the joker is dumping all that cash on the crowd ,i seem to remember the crowd realising that the cash is FAKE !,but they have never included that sceane in any of the vhs, dvd,or the blu ray releases,am i the only one who remembers that ? i swear its true ,i think i saw it on the first weekend when it came out ,but since then its been cut out never to be seen again.

  • Nope, you're definitely mis-remembering that. I saw it 3 times in the theater and was totally obsessed with every little detail of it. :) You might be thinking of the novelization, which was written from an earlier draft and included a lot of bits that didn't make it into the movie.

  • Has your sqeeze heard about the Lego Harry Potter thats coming out? I bet she would like that since she's into Harry Potter. Those Lego games are damn good.

  • Yep, we heard about that one. It will apparently cover the first 4 movies. Looking forward to it!

  • did u know there is a lego indiana jones 2 now

  • Cool, I'll have to look into that.

  • Everyone has their taste of a certain Batman, mine being the dark and unbreakable one. I think Z likes the animation movie better than all the other films and that's cool, and I also think you're a fan of the comics too, right?

I just can't get past the whole thing with Batman feeling all bad for hurting Catwoman on top of that roof in the movie hahaha. Then him killing the Joker is just, well, wrong.

  • Actually, Batman killed the Joker in the comics too. Snapped his neck in The Dark Knight Returns. He also killed a LOT of other baddies in the early days of the comics. Batman tries to be a "non-killing" hero most of the time, but he's no pacifist and does kill sometimes. And let's face it, in many ways he's just as psychotic as the weirdos he chases down...

  • True, but those stories of him killing tend to put out as non-canon. That's another argument all together. In reality, a human being wouldn't be able to stick with that sort of life style, he'd eventually kill. I think Rorschach from Watchmen was based around that thought.

  • Don't recall ever hearing anything about those being considered non-canon. I think a lot of fans just don't want to believe he actually has it in him to kill, given the right circumstances. Also in his earlier days, it was pretty clear he was just out for vengeance over the death of his parents, then "mellowed" as he became more experienced/mature. Personally, I think it just makes his character more interesting, adds to his flaws. Even Batman, for all his moral posturing, isn't perfect.

  • Well, the story behind TDKR is actually pretty funny, Frank Miller stated that it's a sequel to Batman Year One and is considered cannon. DC went against his wishes and told everyone that it took place in some other world, I think it's World 2. So it depends on who's word you go by. I do agree that it makes sense that he has the killing intent and that he'll eventually break, and it does add to his character, making him more human. I guess I'm really on the fence as to what Batman is to me.

  • Exactly Bruce became a hero because he choose to turn the tragady of his parents being killed as a fight against evil but he is by no means as Batman a goody two shoes! There are FAR to many to list in a comment but I'll be doing a Batman video series soon that lays the whole truth out there.

  • You made it clear before that you'll dodge certain bluerays that don't come with the extra content. I think they're just trying to troll you or you're dealing with really stupid people.

  • Yeah, a little bit of both I think. Doesn't hurt to re-clarify every once in a while.

  • Jazz Hands!!!

  • I loved the DW special, cant wait for Matt Smith to take over.

  • We're watching it tonight, can't wait!

  • I LOVE the EPIC Jazz Hands at :13-:15

  • hey sean could you please make a tutorial vid showing how you record your self and the game when you do a game vid?
