Hi. I'm sure it doesnt fit. I never tried as i was set on the mt75. The auto's are bloody massize and heavy things. A freind has used one in a MK1 escort and he had to make a new tunnel to take it, much to my dislike.
@24vcapri i suspected the auto wouldnt work, the mt75 has to be close to its limits (dont you have to use parts of the 2wd and 4wd version?) cosworth t5 would be the best one i suppose but the input shaft is too small and there expensive and rare, thanks for the info buddy
@24vcapri Congrats for your fantastic car .... or should i say your ex car ... :( Am building one with a Cossie in it ... (16v DOHC yb engine ... borg warner at Stage 3) Helpl needed! Could you give me some nice advice?
So far I put in
- 2.8is suspension front/rear + 2.8is brakes
- polybushed everywhere
- GAZ adjustable shocks at front only ...
- 16 inch escos wheels ... they re great but front rub on inside of strut .......wrong offset
Wow, that made me ddddiiiiiiizzzzzzzyyyyyyyyy. I had 2 2.8's back in the day, both were a joy to own. Ran mine with 15 inch steels and Pirelli P Zero 225 on the back and 185 fronts, double axle lock up kit and adj koni's. Handled nicely and stuck like shit on a blanket (in the dry). Oh those were the days.
love this sound! missed my old capri very much, just went and bought a 2.0s rolling shell about 10 minutes ago.... the BOA engine will definately be going in after seeing this piece of video! how much work did the conversion set you back wiring wise and engine mounting? also what kind of budget did you put for doing it?
Ive an 83 2.0 wit 45's,fr32 cam and four branch but it dosnt like to idle? its got fully ajustables all round bilisteins and avo's with disks. i may sell soon im in the uk!
I did actually build it from the shell up, and had loads of projects thanks. Ive done the pinto thing and have learnt from experience that capris need so much more! I would recommend the 24v over anything, apart from maybe a v8. She'll have a supercharger on her by next summer if things go to plan.

can you use the auto box from the granny cosworth in a capri or a sierra or does it have to be the type 9 or the mt75 hybrid
