You're wrong. I had a friend in London who was one of the very first kids to shave his head and put on a wind breaker in about 1967. The music he and his friends adopted was Reggae. Although he also told me that many kids liked Motown Soul (called Northern Soul there) and even rock like CCR. There were black kids in that scene but more mixed kids (like Pauline Black of The Selecter - look it up). It was predominantly white working class kids.
