Thank you for your comments. Paul Conrad, who built the model with designer Jim Ryan, is an outstanding pilot. He also built the new X1 rocket model that is in the video to the best of my knowledge. He had been using K&B 61 engines on it for years, but they have finally bit the dust in parts maintainance. He has purchased 4 brand new O.S. FX 61 engines to replace the K&B's for the 2011 Air Circus
@letterpool It indeed is a blessing to be part of a Club that has so many talented folks. It really raises the bar for the rest of us sport flyers. If you are in the Cincinnati area the weeked of Aug 7th and 8th, You really need to try and come to see it in person. I have another video under Model Air Show GCRCC that has highlights of our show. Check it out
This is a test flight of a new X1 rocket being dropped and tested off of a 12 foot model of a B-29 Superfortress. This X1 replaced a smaller and heavier version that was used in years passed. The B-29 model was scratch built with many hours of labor and has been flying since 1997. The builder uses four K&B 61 engines on it, and again will be flying it at the GCRCC Flying Circus for it's 50th anniversay show in 2010. Show dates are Aug. 7th and 8th. Go to the GCRCC web page for more information.
