@devilkawasaki Sure u can, but u never gonna get the the same resolution. LCD or LED TVs are limited to only 1920x1080 (unless u hook up 2 ore more TVs) again using Eyefinity . What does more resolution mean? U get to see more around u or on top/bottom. Bigger TV will show bigger size image, of that same view u have. Look ahead of u. Remember what u see. Now twist ur head left, right, up and down. Image u can see all this at once? Now u get it?
@alexloa simple (buy 2nd AMD GPU and do CrossFire). 1 GPU can get u max 3-4 monitors. Of course AMD "forgot" to mention that 6 monitors need more than 1 GPU... its a marketing strategy ;)
the card itself is expensive already...3 monitors makes it even more expensive....and you need windows 7 with directx 11 to bring out the potential....
I Was about to purchase a triplehead2go and now I see this. So in order for me to use 3 monitors what do i need ? And how does it work ? There is some splitter cables ? Cause new 5800 cards have only 2 DVI out same as before ..... interesting. IF anyone can provide some info in details on this technology ? Thanks !
5000 series has Dual DVI-I, HDMI and DisplayPort, so you need to run Two DVI displays and one DisplayPort or One DVI, One HDMI and One DisplayPort display ;)
its crazy because i bought a new pc and had XP on it. Everything was great. But then I put the Win 7 7600 on it and its more laggy then before. it says 90% Ram usage...wtf.
Specs are : phenom 2 955 4gb ram no graphiccard yet :P onboard hd 3200
So i think i have to move up to 8 Gb of Ram
but i thought Win 7 ist faster than the old Windows Os's
I was originally a nVidia guy, but when I was just about the build my first computer, BAM! 4870's came, and won me over with the price and performance. I was able to buy two which saving money on the budget still, and to think... I was gonna get a GTX280 at the time for $800. Now I hope to get one of these cards, or an X2 when that comes! ATI has re-won me over. (I had a X800 pro before, and wasn't satisfied at all)
I personally would get an Nvidia card for 3D gaming, it's really one of the most underrated things, it's really amazing. and it let's you play older games too, like you could play COD2 or NFS Hot Pursuit in 3D if you wanted. a 2D side scrolling game isn't going to look 3D tho.
just search for "Nvidia 3D Vision"
there's a time for performance, and then there's a time to be immersed in a game, getting 20 fps higher, something your eye wont notice a dif, isn't going to help immerse you any more.
Excuse me? You are seriously saying ATI can't support older games? I think you are thinking of the actual operating system VISTA can't support older games. I play my old DOS games fine pal, although I use DOSBox to emulate a DOS computer. Also, by the way. nVidia's 3D vision ISN'T the future, it makes people feel nauseous, I would say that's a serious problem. But I really could care less about 3D vision.
youtubes faggot spam protection wont let me post this, unless I fuck it up...
and if you6 play the fuck out of games6 using 3D V6ision, then yeah it might make6 you feel sick, like if yo6u use it for 8 hours, b6ut if you use it for like 30 - 60 minutes it should be fine, y6ou also m6ight just hav6e to get use to 6it as well.
I pers6onally don't feel sick af6ter playing, so ever6yone is different.
yeah build 7100 blows dog balls for quarters, lol I tried it too, and I had numerous issues with it, I swore I wouldn't get Windows 7 until it's final release, but I got the 7600 RTM version, and it runs great, no problems thus far.
u people said eyefinty will support 6 display today when i saw card it says 3 display support and in special card 6 display will come :( why u guys dont make it standard
...They already have one, it's a 3rd party software that came before nVidia's though, doesn't require a 120Hz screen either. I don't remember the name of it though, sorry to say.
lol, yeah I tried that, it let's you play games in 3D, but it requires the use of Red & Blue glasses, so even if it doesn't require a special monitor, it's still crap, lol, like that's how I have been playing because Nvidia let's you at least play in 3D like that, if you don't have the monitor, to give you a taste of what its like with the Monitor, and the monitor let's you see 3D with perfect color.
so they have it, but its crap, no one REALLY wants to play a game looking throught red and blue
good stuff...but i would just buy a 73" hdtv before i bought 6 20" monitors. i personally think all those black lines from the monitor edges take away from the whole immersive experience. but thats just my opinion.

well atleast its all done on one video card with pretty damn good performance. the only thing is how well would DX11 games perform when using such high resolutions? probbly not to good. but then there is crossfire to help with that
there are new "borderless" monitors coming out from companies like LG and NEC...some rumors that Dell might do the same...probably under their Alienware brand, specifically for this kind of stuff...

albenir56 1 year ago
@albenir56 for gaming it is so much better.
for example think of it like this.
using 1 screen on call of duty is like using 1 eye.
close one eye and your sight of the room is smaller.
using 2 screens is like opening your 2 eye. you can see more than everyone else.
so using 3 screens is like another eye.

How? The 5970 is 2 downclocked Cypress GPU's. The 5870 would be 2 downclocked Cypress CPU's too.
pixphi 2 years ago
@pixphi No its not the same thring -.-
As far as i konw 5970 is like 2x 5850
chakiller36 2 years ago
No it's not, a 5850 (Cypress PRO) has 1440 SP's per GPU, so the 5850X2 would have 2880 SP's.
However the 5970 has 3200 SP's (1600x2) only the Cypress XT (5870) has the full 1600 SP's.
The clocks are slower to fit within PCI-SIG's 300W max for ATX cards.
