I'd get as far as getting the crown to the top of the mountain, and then the screen would flash. It would just go on and on like this, and I could never figure out what I was supposed to do next.
This version had slightly better graphics than the 2600 and the jumping was MUCH easier, but it was a royal pain in the ass to find the flame in this one. It's like you can only hear the music if you're right in the general area of the flame. On the 2600, you could follow it as it got louder. Here, it's like one wrong step and the music stops.
use your flashlight in the area that the music gets louder. you will find (something) in the beam of the light. then you have to race to the top. or something like that anyway. it's been so long since I've played this game. awesome.
i remember back in 1984 when i first bought this game for the 2600 ,looked ok not like this one but i found a warp that if you jump at the top of the moutain you will find a secret later..
More complete instructions; Pick up 1000 worth of diamonds. Shine flashlight to see chests, kneel to open them, some have diamonds, some have bats. At 1000, follow music to flame (easier on the Atari) which shows up in flashlight. Kneel, take it to the temple, kneel to get crown. Take the crown to the flame on the highest peak before time runs out or a bat steals the crown. Repeat.
I never even knew there was a c64 version (always played the Atari version at my friends' and relatives' houses... it's one of my favorite games from back then) but here's how you do it: get 1000 points, get the spirit flame, get the crown, get to the top of the mountain. Considering that it was a game you had to complete in 10 minutes or less, it really was pretty deep for 1982. I never knew it was an obscure game because most people I knew who had Ataris had the game.
I remeber the game, I played it on my c64! I also were trying to collect all these biping things, but never finished :D what's funny I even remember how to escape from spider's web - you have to move joy up and down quickly :)

Wow. This is what I call the 80's. But do not play this at night time. It will scare you. LOL .

Another 2600 player here. I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit back in the old days.

I liked the Atari 800 version more than the 2600 or Commodore verstions. frame-rate was much better. Moved more fluently.
