I'm a movie freak and i LOVE movies and this is the best movie ive ever seen... like ... realy Nolan??? How in the world do you do it??? The action, the music was fantasticly performed by Hans Zimmer, and ... THE STORY OMG!!!!!! I cought myself with my mouth open in the cinema like 8 times and i think it was my best cinema experience ever... Don't get me wrong, i like transformers and matrix, but u cant compete to Nolan, im so looking forward to The Dark Knight rises.... EPICNESS, thats all :)
Oh and in the end cob is still in the dream, don't pay attention to the top in the final scene of the film. Listen to his children and what they say. A house on a cliff sound familiar? (Sato's dream palace)
@ceramicrains the end is not a dream. You can trace back where it came from (in contrast: dream cannot be traced back to origin), and Sato's dream palace is part of Cob's projection (the water, Mal, and what you said).
@xponen You still don't know the end is a dream or not. Because in fact, you CAN'T trace back where it all started. You know why? If you look at the "beginning" of the movie, the movie starts out in the MIDDLE of the movie, if you know what I mean. The first scene is Cob washing up on the shore, but that scene is not the beginning, that's actually the middle of the movie copy&pasted to the beginning. "You can never remember the start of a dream, you always find yourself in the MIDDLE of it."
There is no fifth level. The limbo cob ends up in is the 3rd level of the dream layers (the snow fortress) which ends up being empty and open to cob's subconscious due to the fact the others have already exited the dream.
Great video editing and well done. This has prob been posted already but there was a 5th lvl of the dream state "limbo" that isn't shown. This was the part where Cob died in the 4th lvl, stabbed by Mal, then went into limbo and found Saito to convince him to kick all the way back up.
The only thing I don't get is at parts like 1:23. There's a shift in gravity in the upper left film, (1st dreamstate), leading to a shift in gravity in the upper right film (2nd dreamstate). My question is why doesn't that shift in gravity keep going down to the third level?
@jazzguitar13 Maybe because in the first dream state, they're in free fall, so in the second dream state, they're floating in air but they're fairly stable, just floating there, hence gravity is normal in the third dream state?
I had an idea for a humorous mind warrior type story. Sort of Inception meets Psychonauts vibe. Some person reads the memories of a not-yet-convicted killer, then uses that information as evidence. Would anyone be on board? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
a question about this movie. when the van falls into the river, everyone, excluding cobb and saito, seem to just sit by the river. why it it that they do not wake up into reality after actually crashing into the river? are they just stuck in that dream level awaiting for saito and cobbs return?

@HLimmen The second could affect the third... Nothing happened in the second to change gravity in the third. The car was spinning in the 1st, that affected the 2nd, had no effect on the 3rd or Limbo.
@JamieHowitt at the rotating hall scene, the third dream stage should've been rotating as well. When that guy is trying to get them to the elevator, the third stage should've been affected. They didn't think it through well enough.
@MikoFlowProductions the hotel was affected by the car, but if you think about it, the hotel was actually normal the whole time, it was the whole world changing, so it wouldnt effect them on the snow level.
If some of the city-level scenes are in slow-motion, the whole point of that is to show that the below scenes are in real-time, yet you displayed the slow-motion alongside the sped-up hotel level. that's incorrect. also illogical.
So in real time how long did it take you to do this?? because I have some bad news..............THIS IS ALL A DREAM!!! YOUR TIME HAS BEEN WASTED SUCKERRR
That.... was.... EPIC! I know you didn't have enough footage to make it sync perfectly. But for the 3rd level I believe they did spend a good 30 minutes scaling down the mountain. You could just freeze frame Satio and Robert going down the mountain and put the words (scaling down a mountain) on the screen until we get to the kick that causes the avalanche.
I can just imagine, some "special edition" dvd could have this, but with all footage, and you could click on each rectangle to change the speed! That would be perefect, but this here is the best we've got for now! Great Video!

I believe after they planted the inception to fisher, Fisher's military combat stopped since Fisher would believe the kidnappers were Uncle Peter's men. and that's the reason of going down there to the Hotel sooner than later. They wouldn't be able to survive a week down there before but now they could, except Cobb and the Japanese who were drown or shot dead. But Cobb knew how to get back up from there!

Cobb is still in a dream, however, weather it is a dream or reality (It's a dream) he chose to accept it as his reality. Cobb got out when he wasn't under the influence of sedation, He has no idea how to get out of it under sedation. Cobb knew Ariadne was an ally, but his projections attacked (not only Mal).
@gesusamen plus, Fischer thought the kidnapper's were Peter's men at the hotel scene, and he thought Cobb and Arthur were friendly projection, and the true projections still attacked.
I think Cobb's dreaming through all the movie. Why ? One reason : 10 hours in the plane = 1 week in the city level. They didn't spend 1 week in the city level, merely one day or two so the fly shouldn't have been finished when they woke up from the kick, right ? Plus the kick was meant to wake them up sooner so they don't have to spent 10 years in the third level... Anyway it's just my opinion.

When they saud that they have a week in the city, that is the MAX time. They had to inprovise because fisher's conscience was militarized. They woke up from the kick LONG before the flight finished. Cobb and saito wooke up late because they were stuck in limbo. Everyone else was looking at them when they were waking up.

I think Cobb's dreaming through all the movie. Why ? One reason : 10 hours in the plane = 1 week in the city level. They didn't spend 1 week in the city level, merely one day or two so the fly shouldn't have been finished when they woke up from the kick, right ? Plus the kick was meant to wake them up sooner so they don't have to spent 10 years in the third level... Anyway it's just my opinion.

When they saud that they have a week in the city, that is the MAX time. They had to inprovise because fisher's conscience was militarized. They woke up from the kick LONG before the flight finished. Cobb and saito wooke up late because they were stuck in limbo. Everyone else was looking at them when they were waking up.
