  • Very Nice work!

  • thats not expensive

  • oh yeah btw, do you also clean the pond?

  • thats awesome, i live in reno nevada too! nice pond

  • Hey guys! I havea question i have a baby koi and his goldfish friend who i bought as babys who are living in my 55 gallon tank at the moment (yes i bought them knowing how big they would get i did my research). How much do koi ponds cost on average? Im only 16 and im thinking i may need to get a summer job or something to afford it im wanting to get around 100 or 200 gallons but i need an idea of an estimate. Any suggestions on filters? Thanks!

  • where are the fish?

  • I love your water feature and the rocks placed around it giving it an expensive look and feel. More natural than pvc plastic rock looking kits that go for about $200. Heck your pond even looks similiar to a huge fountain pond at a local lake I live by. Good job

  • nice spot to chill

  • blow it up

  • Today my 2 black widow tetras died :-( R.I.P Clyde 2 and Clyde 5

  • A few questions: what is your water source/how do you keep the water moving around it? And what do you have lining the sides/bottom of the pond?

  • 13 people lives with their mommies and couldn't build their own ponds

  • Dont listen to him. His $75 pond probably looks like its worth about $7.50

  • my pond i love it i had them for a year and a half and they are worth 100 for 5 of them and the other one is 125 and every summer we have babies and they are so cool just it takes a while for them to get colorful

  • nice work! - i wish i could brag about how little i spent on my pond - it cost the best part of £6000!!!

  • Haha, for all the people like me who love cheap stuff, go to Craigslist! Im about to build a 400-500G pond with a bog all around it below $100 Including the forest of plants I will buy!

  • @jmoney775 hey man... i need a little advice please... i have dug a large pond in y lawn i can make a waterfall using a aquarium filter motor,i need to know that will the same waterfall b my oxygen supply ? if i make it land into my pond from a tree ? and is pond liner necessary or can i use round safe river rocks for making it waterproof? or is there any other way to "not use the pond liner" what r the substitutes if i dont want liner ?

  • @McKaymayes sorry but if it really cost that little you must have already had liner, pumps, plumbing, etc... $500 for this size pond is great...

  • @McKaymayes dude ur a liar.

  • @McKaymayes so lets see that $75 pond of yours

  • @McKaymayes care to tell me how b/c i was thinking of making one

  • @McKaymayes how is that even possible? my small pond(100-150gal) i made was $36 and just to make a filter for it was $70

  • You did a real nice job for only $500

  • how much money do you have?!?!?

    its really good tho

    i have no money

  • most ponds coast at least 2000 dollars. it's amazing he built this pond for as little as $500.

  • that is bad to the ass!

  • That's only 1100 GPH? Wow!

  • awesome video...check out my koi pond you'll go nuts...i saved thousands doing it

  • Great waterfall, I look forward to seeing how everything grows into each other, you know plants, landscaping and maybe fish?

  • very nice

  • wow i like your pond! and I was thinking of getting that submersible pump from beckett to. I have a question does it work well for a long time? and does it get clogged up easy? and that spill tank can you explain to me how you did it? because im no handy man but I like your work and would like to do the same. =) and one more, the pump did you just plug it up and thats it? did you use an extension cord or some what?

  • I've had this pump going for 24/7 for a little over 18mos with no problems at all. I prevent it from clogging by sitting it in a square milk crate with lava rock around it. The crate is lined with swamp cooler pad. I can go a good 4/5 months without changing the pads. I used a 50' extension cord and ran it underground in a small PVC pipe. Very easy to do.

I'm going to do a video on how I built the spill tank and pump crate for you all to see. Stay tuned. I'll let you know when it's done.

  • @tomagotchii I know your post is a year old but I'm so impressed with beckett. My beckett 3500 ran day and night for about four years in summer and severe winter environment. When the rotor got shakey and the power cord tore a little (at the pump) I replaced the beckett 3500 with the exact same model through amazon at a very good cost of just over $100 with free shipping. The old pump didn't actually stop but I didn't want to wait tll it did.

  • nice 500 thats cheap for one like this

    but wheres ur fish?

  • Where is the listing, on everything you spent? I spent $492.00 on the pump, filter, & hoses alone.......I do not have a waterfall like yours either. I would really like to see this list.......

  • Click the "more info" tab next to the "June 07, 2007" date. If you can't find it, here's the list:

  • nice waterfall dude ive just started to build my one just the other day but im not to sure if my pump will do the same as yours forthe waterfall i done a test in the bath tub,the water bell is realy good the width is about 25cm but there isnt much water coming out for where the waterfall part is about 20 litres per min my question is do you think mine would give the same affect of yours???

please comment back and anjoy your pond dude..

  • sorry my pump is a 1500lpm im not sure what that is in gallons

  • You might want to get a little bigger pump. 1500LPM = a little under 400GPM. My main pump is 1100GPM and my fountain pump is 525GPM. Your pump will work for now but I'd definitely start looking for a bigger one.

    Good luck!

  • ok thank you very much for responding i think ill use the pump i have now just for the waterbell and ill get a bigger one for the waterfall thanks again dude

  • hey well i got the pond all done now ive posted a video responce to you got mine done for about $200.00 australian $ the pond liner is an old blow up pool for kids, pump was 78$,stone tiles were 11$ each i got 4 packs, the rocks were fre from the side of the road, hose was 7.95$,and plants were about 60$ and some were from peoples front yards lol i didnt end up getting a bigger pump it looks good with just a little bit of water falling down the rocks.

please let me know what you think???

  • 500 bucks? maybe if u found all those boulders and pumps.

  • Yup... $500. I did find all the boulders and the pumps can be found at Home Depot for not too much money at all. I clearly listed the cost of all goods under video description.

    Good luck on your pond!

  • dude, nice water action

  • What do you do with the fish in the winter?

  • If the pond is deeper then 30 inches the fish should do fine because only the first few inches of the pond will freeze. Mostly the fish hang out at the bottom of the pond and rarely eat. They just sit there. You do have to make sure you put some sort of air hole in the ice so the gasses can escape without harming the fish.

I hope this helps... Thanks for watching!

  • Wow what a piece of art!!!! What a inspiration, I am about to build a pond, I have started on half of my garden but I have used free material which has made it harder. I live in Sweden so I have goin to the woods to find material. So that has been the hard part. I think I will need to buy is the special matt and the pump. Of if there is a way to create one by myself let me know

  • What size pump, filter, etc did you use. The pond looks great I like to build one. Thanks and enjoy your pond

  • aww dats cool, h0p3fully we might have one like this someday

  • no fish?

  • You can't see them but they are there. I put a dozen or so feeder fish in there last spring. Right now the pond is about to ice over and the fish are close to a few inches long right now. It's amazing how fast they grow! I'll do a new video next spring when the pond thaws.

    Good luck with your pond!

  • it almost looks to fake but nice camera veiws:)

  • I had a waterfall in my house in my country but it's big not small
