Alright just to educate some haters here:
Both Taiwanese (Taiwan) and Chinese (China) ppl know that we come from the same HAN ppl. In both Taiwan & China, ppl refer to themselves as "hua ren" which technically means "Chinese". It's just Taiwanese ppl mean they are "hua ren" from Taiwan, they are NOT saying that they are not from the HAN ppl.

@chanjadeo So since these Han people are born in Taiwan, they would naturally say their nationality Taiwanese, just like a person who has “Asian” parents but is born in the United States would say their nationality is American. Their cultures and languages/dialects are different for those who are confused.

@chanjadeo I’m a mix of Taiwanese, Chinese and Japanese and I don’t get offended when people say I'm ONLY Chinese, instead I educate them. I don't understand why people think it’s bad to have Taiwanese pride, after all isn't having pride for your own country a good thing? It's only bad if you think you put down other races just because you think your own race is superior and theirs are inferior.

@chanjadeo Taiwan has its own government, president, and operations which are separate from China. I know that China doesn't recognize Taiwan as an official country but it really IS a country that is NOT under China rule. If you educate yourself, you would know that there are many differences between Taiwan and China.

Some ex's: media is heavily controlled in China, China doesn't recognize dual citizenship, China has the one child policy, you can't use Google or facebook in China meanwhile it is the opposite in all of the above in Taiwan. They also have different languages and dialects. In Taiwan, the main languages are Mandarin and Taiwanese. In China, its Mandarin and Cantonese but their way of speaking Mandarin is very different.

@chanjadeo In China they mainly write in Simplified Chinese versus in Taiwan they write in Traditional Chinese. I'm not saying one is better then the other, I've been to both countries and I believe all their languages are beautiful. I just hate seeing people post racist comments esp. when I have great friends from both Taiwan and China and we don't care where we come from, after all we are ALL humans and from the same planet. We just care if we're good people or not.
