  • i wish my name was Buff Orpington

  • No worries, keep up the good work and thank you for sharing.

  • how many eggs do your hens lay a week you think?

  • @TerrenceBerg

I'm getting about 4 eggs a day out of 10 hens, so about 2 dozen a week.

They are all natural layers for the most part. I keep a supply of local grown feed to supplement them and keep them from getting bored and in my garden. During the Spring and Fall, I get an egg a day from each hen. They rest in the Summer and Winter for the most part. That's when they get wormed also.

I have ten laying hens at the moment and had a hatching with a dozen new chicks this summer.

  • i am saying your good for proteccting your chickens, nice crow by the way. lol

  • @TerrenceBerg

I appologize and deleted the remark.

  • rhughe13 he is a moron pay him no attention, protect your flock.

  • showing off for the ladies behind him =) haha i have 6 RIR's (three roosters)..they're five months old and not yet crowing...when did your buffs start to crow?

  • @strawske

I notice my roosters starting to crow around 4 months old. And they sound awful too, like a kid going through a voice change.

Although not the official Kellogs Rooster, that is what he looked like when he joined the farm. Thus his name Kellogs.

  • @strawske thats weird...mty RIR rooster is crowing and hes like 3 months old

  • omg they are on wire floors :(

  • So?

  • that is really shit... chickens natural instincts are to scratch around. And it isnt very good for there feet to be stood on wire.

  • Well the chickens do scratch when they are outside of the pen, food and nest area. They can come and go as they please in over 10 acres of land, except when door is latched at night. If they are not completely wired in for night, they will die from predators. You are a moron.

  • Chickens are awesome!

  • :O I have a buff orpington rooster but he crows diffrently In some way. i think

  • roosters are soo smart and highly intelligent, they protect homes too. Always protect the rooster.

  • This-bird-is-a-docile-orpington,-he-won't-get-protective-very-easily-amirite?(spacebar-broken)

  • i have these kind of chickens but i know them as yellow buffs, there real nice chickens.

  • Nice looking Buff!

  • that's a white cock!

  • what a crappy crow, my rooster could kick your roosters ass

  • Wow.. a challenge between crows. and thats somehow supposed to "kick A**"? i guess i'll agree to it. but only if i may use a Long crower which is bred to crow for 30-40 seconds cause theres a competion over in asia and stuff that they have feathersite . com tells you all about em. its a poultry encyclopedia ^^

  • that's some funny shit, they argue about whose rooster crows better and kicks ass...

    Sounds like bumper sticker material

  • My rooster has the best crow ever. Its like exactly wht you see in movies when they wke the farmer up.

  • hey retard that isnt a buff orpington it is a golden comet or a golden buff which ever one you want to call it

  • agreed, orpingtons are more Cochin like, but really. it would be known as a sexlink bird ^^.. as thats all a golden comet is.

  • Buff Plymouth Rock actually

  • I agree.. It's not a red sex-link by any means.

  • Looks like a dinosaur, I bet dinosaurs made similar noises, only allllloooot deeper and louder!

  • omg i want to eat him

  • OMG!! hes beautiful!!!

  • Nice rooster!

    He's very handsome :)

  • very! orpingtons are my favourite breed of chicken of all time, and chickens are my favourite anything of all time!

  • I only have one buff orpington hen right now in a mixed flock, but I love them all :)
