  • This is just a perfect video! I always enjoy going to and taking off from MSP. Beautiful aircraft, beautiful airport. Thank you for posting this!

  • I miss Northwest Airlines so much! :(

  • omg i am the fligjt attendant on that flight!!!! you can see me in the begining near the flight deck, i remember asking this guy to turn off his camera!

  • what seat was this?

  • Mesaba sucks. I highly doubt they even inspect these small little puddle jumpers especially the crappy little propeller saabs

  • @02Nawal You're speculations are completely unfounded, Mesaba airlines has one of the best if not the best safety records of ALL regional carriers. I KNOW for a fact that the inspections are done correctly and on time, I am part of the crew responsible for doing the heavy checks on our 200's and 340's here in DTW.

  • yea how do u get the atc??

  • how do you get the atc

  • i love the sound of those engines.

and did you just have a handheld airband radio to get the atc?

  • super nice video!!!! there are several smaller private airports outside mpls. the closest one might be Crystal Airport.

  • i think its a nice vid. i never saw msp airport before. now question, is there a smaller airport . near downtown . for like private planes.

  • I'm not sure. I've never been outside of MSP.

  • What Treldman saying about small jets being any safer than larger jets.

  • There are a few private plane airports throughout the Twin Cities suburbs. Flying Cloud Airport at Edina, Minn. is one. The only other airport of size would be the St. Paul Downtown Airport/Holman Field (KSTP) along the Mississippi River. That airport mostly handles corporate jets and other light aircraft, but it could probably handle a CRJ or even an MD80/DC9/A319 in an emergency since the primary runway 14-32, is 6,491' x 150'.

  • @peteboy1113 There are five airports in the MSP Area. Wold Chamberlain Field is the main int'l airport. There are three very small Airports for private air travel. There is also a regional airport near St, Paul .

  • Yes, there is a smaller airport for private planes across the river from downtown St. Paul. That's where 3M's corportate jets are.

  • Why did you edit the pilots voice out at 0:20 ?

  • isnt it also united air that has it so you can listen to atc?

  • Comment removed

  • what seat were you in?

  • looks like 8A (left window)

  • hey can can anyone tell me how you can hear the ATC while you record this??

    thanks

  • How did you get ATC?? I thought that you could only get that flying with United, on Channel 9??

  • Treldman. I hate to burst your bubble but small planes are not safer than large planes. I would say they're equally safe. What does a larger glide slope if an engine blows out mean? And the larger plane's wings flex because they are designed to flex. If they didn't THEN they would snap off. So it's actually a good thing that they are flexing. Every commercial jet is designed to withstand turbulence, small and large. Not sure where you got your info from.

  • Agreed...

  • Larger glide slope equals a larger chance at landing safely at a long runway. This happens a lot with large, heavy airplanes losing their engines, and having a CFIT, or Controlled Flight Into Terrain. Though small aircraft can do this also, it happens less often due to the weight.

  • Im gonna get a Flip and start making these

  • dammmn that big one at 2:50 just slammed into the ground

  • wait, so mesaba is northwest?

  • Yes, its one of their connections.

  • Mesaba is now Delta

  • The Crj900 is such a nice aircraft. Even though it is small, it can still go pretty far. I remember a while back when they were using the 757-200 to go from MSP- Austin.

That kid in the background is so annoying.

    "Mom, look a Target!"

  • Small planes are actually safer than big planes.

  • Why is that?

  • Lighter, which means they can get a slightly larger glide slope if an engine blows out. Shorter wings (if you look at a large plane's wing during turbulence, you'll see it flex like crazy), so it has less of a chance to snap off. And even though the change of a wing snapping off is small, it's there.

  • Thanks for info!

  • Welcome. My parents just look at me when I talk about that...

  • This info is so incorrect.

  • What info?

  • Looks like there was a strong criosswind

  • KEAGKID:

DL already painted some NW 747-400, A330 and A319.

  • im 14......Im in love with aviation.... i hope to be a pilot someday

  • another NWA brat here. Or should I say delta now?

  • yeah NWA is horrible. You might as well say delta. Wonder if they will repaint them as delta? Wouldn't matter, they still be pretty bad.

  • I wounder that too. I was wondering if all the NWA aircraft will be repainted to Delta colours? Will Delta then get the Airbus A320 and A319, as well as the 747 and A330?

  • is it ok to use any kind of camera on the plane? cuz i think the flight attendants tell u to put it away b/c it makes some kind of signal. but i dont think it should be a big deal anymore, cuz theres obviously lots of people doing it anyway.

  • so, since when is a tranceiver allowed to be used on an aircraft as a passenger? oh well, good video anyways. I am a pilot on that aircraft. i love flying it.

  • Since when are you supposed to say your a pilot when your really not?

  • wow, that was below the belt. i said it was still a good video. i was just giving you a hard time

  • Thanks

  • there is no better time of day to takeoff, and the atc thing was a bonus!!!!... oh and the aircraft sounded awesome on start-up too

  • thanks for putting atc thats pretty awesome

  • What I want to know is how did you hide your camera from the flight attendant. Being as I am one myself and could spot that sort of thing a mile away

  • I dont know, I didn't really try to. Ask that question to the other million in flight videos on Youtube. ;)

  • wow i never knew you couldn't have a camera.

  • video taping does not interfre with anything on the aircraft

  • How do you hear ATC? Got LiveATC going? from what wireless port source? Great video? PS-Does it affect the pilot's capabilities to hear ATC if you're listening as well?

  • no it does not.

  • dude i friggin love it when u comin back to portland
