  • o great... we gonna have illegal Russian immigrants once all that shit melts

  • these are natural events that happen on earth, they would happen if there were no humans no point fussing over it just see where the earth takes us!!!!

  • oh hell the world is ending in 2012 anyway

  • @TaylorMaid01234 No it wont. Just dont listen to that internet bullshit.

  • 2010 the ice got SOO MUCH MORE BIGGER

  • golbal warming is normal there was no ice ate the poles when the dinosaurs were around but then it got colder and the ice age came along.

  • You'll be pleased to know that the Arctic sea ice is recovering and as of 2 April 2010 it has reached its greatest extent since 2001, passing the long-term (1979-2000) average.

  • Just to give you guy's a head up if the north pole is melting that is because we are shifting... and creating co2 causing the planet to get more intence heat buildup in the north to.

It;s will not kill us but something happend millions of years ago and it was fast and swift whiping out alot of life on Earth... I'm not sure what it was but I think it personally was a planet shift causing storms mud slides and floods and some places dried completly up.

It might be a planet shift not sure.

  • I have a question. In this computer simulation, does it take into account of the Sun's radiation output. Because if the sun goes into a period of no sunspots, that means there's less heat reaching the earth. The same thing happened during the Little ice age.

  • I would otherwise think my response is a bit too strong but this idiotic statement has to stop.

    You are an IDIOT.

How do you honestly think climate models do not incorporate solar activity. That is one of the most basic things even taught in primary school science class and you think that the world's climate scientists and scientific institutions somehow forgot about the SUN?

Its like stopping a geneticist and asking him if he has considered DNA in his work.

  • I don't know whether you think of me as a car loving guy, which I ain'tm I hate cars, but I ask a question because of the history of the sun and the recent period of no sunspots. I knew that we would have a cold winter this year due to the lack of activity on the sun. Now What I'm afraid of that in the next 10 years, that the world Isn't going to warm, it's going to get cooler and this will have a neg impact on environmental policy and law.

  • @danielday36

The cold temperatures are not due to the sun. It's the negative phase of arctic oscillation. Which is when arctic air replaces mid latitude regions and the arctic becomes abnormally warm. This is the warmest winter in the UAH satellite record due to global warming and El Nino. Solar cycle has little effect on global temperature and increasing GHG will overcome it. Next solar max. is to occur in 2013.

google hottest january in UAH record

    google NOAA solar cycle progression

  • The "cold snap" was short-term natural variability and has little effect on global temp. Even with the cold snap, 2010 is poised to be the warmest year on record while 2009 tied as 2nd warmest even during one of the deepest solar min. CO2 is a strong forcing.

    Try these google web searches:

    NASA GISS temperature

NCDC state of the climate global

If it's that warm, how come it's so darned cold essay

2009 2nd hottest while sun is coolest

    AO index

    NSIDC arctic oscillation

  • I'm afraid that if the environmental movement keeps focusing on Global warming and not the toxic stuff that pollution is and is confirmed, then not only are we going to loose ground with green technology. Because if that glacier don't melt when that guy said it would, it simply labels us a the dumb communist people. we do have evidence that what comes out of a smoke stack effects the local community. It harder to dispute that than Global Warming. I'm for gun rights, but I'm also for transit

  • I understand your concern, but I just felt I should mention that the science of global warming is unequivocal and that the warming trend continues despite the misinformation.

  • @danirlday36

Globally, this past decade was the warmest on record (there is no cooling trend). 2000-2009 was also the warmest decade recorded in the U.S.

    "For the time being, until

humanity brings its greenhouse gas emissions under control, and we can expect each decade to be warmer than the preceding one."

Check out greenman3610 for great videos about global warming "Climate Denial Crock of the Week" video series.

"It's so Cold, there can't be Global Warming"

  • My fear is that with more and more cold weather in the next 10 years, that the global warming movement will loose out to Big Oil and GM. We will not achieve the goals of getting off of big oil, reducing our carbon footprint and saving the environment.

  • This is my fear, and since I have a bad habit of being right, and I really hate cars and I live in a %$#@ car city, that I will have to continue to endure that hell I live in ever day. I haven't gotten to the point yet of keying cars that get to close to me on my bicycle yet. Please for our sake, may I be wrong and the world really gets warm. Also If you live in Texas, please vote in the republican primary and make sure that %$#@ Perry don't win the nomination for Governor. vote for Kay

  • wow your nasty man .. hahahah

  • This will happen but the artic was melted before many years ago and it has been proven..by findings in some melted areas scary eh.

I heard their is a secret futurisd base in the south pole.. made millions of years ago and abandoned. we found it.

  • January 2009 artic ice is virtually identical to January 2000 in an actual model, not a prediction. One cold winter and we could have more than 1979. 2008 and 2009 were cold winters.

    Hot, Flat, And Crowded

  • when the temperature was 6 degrees higher than today there was still ice at the north pole how do we know because its in the core samples taken from the ice

  • as of today, on google earth, there is no ice on the north pole.

  • I can't help not using the computer IT'S BORING and I get A's :D

  • i cant wait, its too cold in Chicago.

  • Sure, if you think it's OK to degrade the only habitat our future generations will have to support them, then from YOUR perspective, I see what you mean.

But, from the informed rational perspective, it is immoral to needlessly take from others what they will require to sustain them.

Try putting on a jacket rather than thinking it's "OK" to allow needless suffering to occur.

  • Lol @ this unfactual bullshit.

    PROOF PLEASE.

  • It is a fact that all of our historically reliable scientific institutions have concluded about the same on the core issue. HUMANS are warming the planet mainly through the use and fossil fuels and through deforestation.

If you insist on the "proof" I suggest you grab an education in the field before attempting tackle this very complex science.

Read what the experts have concluded.

  • rubbish .you people are like those people who follow cults your being brainwashed

  • rubbish, claptrap, and disinformation.

Yes, that is all that the naysayers have to offer. It comes with plenty of hype but no scientific instutional support and no peer reviewed studies. Some prefer to parrot the disinformation spread by the vested interests. The rational, the informed understand that a climate crisis is occurring.

  • so who cares if mankind goes extint only what we deserve the world will carry on very nicely without us

  • That's one way of looking at it. With that reasoning you can say that because you'll be dead in 100 years why care about anything? After all, the "world" will carry on without you.

I see it differently. Imagine that your fresh water supply has all but dried up and your farm land is turning to desert. Then you learn the cause is that previous generations ignored scientific warnings and continued to pollute carelessly. Try empathy. They will be all thats left of us.

  • last 12seconds is theory/fiction.

Does not include 2008 data and the

sunspot factor that is not resolved as yet.

So what if Russia snow is late? The Northwest

passage did not open up as predicted AND there

was 30%more ICE coverage at polar minimum 2008, Alaska and other glaciers reporting growth, some the 1st in 250yrs. Still we must panic and do the carbon credit scam & crush cars and kill economies. What about REAL pollution problems like the genderbending junk in the food and water?

  • ride ur bike,

    recycle,

dont throw away anything that u dont have to,

dont ride in a car unless its somewhere far,

dont go on computar or play games as often,

    dont waste food,

    and dont hunt,

    and espesially dont set fires,

    and hope for the best

  • I can't help myself not to play computer games!! :(

  • @AvrilLover23 don't breath don't use electricity don't die because ur body still releases Co2

  • do you know that USA produces the biggest amount of wastes and toxic fumes to the air?

  • china just took the lead my friend.

  • it depends.... we waste more time than any country... so that may contribute to the waste...

also... predictions to 2049 with this video... kiss my ass with that... I predict a big wall of ice over everything... how you like that?

I bet if you can predict that far ahead, you can guess the $300,000,000 jackpot coming in a few months...

  • ya the numbers are 4 8 5 1 2 9 7 7 7 1

  • There is no such thing as Climate change. Currently, we a still in (if I am right) the third Ice Age of our planet's life cycle. Our ice caps will melt, but only to bring us into a new age. These are SEASONS WITHIN SEASONS. Would should still look after our planet, of course. However, this IS NOT Global Warming.

  • it is all are faults climate change is happining faster than beyond of a blink of an eye we should stop and just blame the oil companies and just start riding hybrids if u dont believe in climate change thats ok but it is still happining scienetist are findin a new way to stop the temprature rise and Co2 rise

  • Actually we're overdue for an ice-age, so no it's not happening "beyond a blink of an eye". Get your facts, and grammar, right.

  • You folks need to get it through your heads that humans are NOT causing climate change. The sun is having a much larger effect, and wasting our money on CO2 footprints will divert our energies away from proper remediation.

  • it's like security at the airports becoming more and more personal than before... giving up your rights as Americans and humans to a government establishment...

welcome to the dying trend of democracy, and global warming is one of those things...

  • Time is the lie, it's easy to lie with exponential functions when only a few people understand a graph.

Making people believe they wont see the catastrophic events but their children will slows down thinking by act of selfishness.

We are so stupid... Darwin will solve that lolll

To change your mind why don't you buy a big SUV 4x4 ?

  • In between september 2006 and 2007 we lost 20% of the sea ice and got lower then the pessimistic model of the IPCC 30 years faster then their cheated figures.

  • 17 Jan 2008 BA B777 crash landed short of the runway at Londons Heathrow airport after a long flight over the North pole (which is routine). Record low Temp -87 celsius sustained, created ice, parafin crystals in fuel. "25 years of flying that route never experienced such drastic low temps", Pilots. As is said, 'stay current'. Alarmist's take note.

  • Overwhelming climate history of earth has no Ice Caps. Ice Ages are rare and happen quite rapidly. They also leave quite rapidly in sporadic retreats. 'Interglacials'...we are in one, 'Holocene' period. Nicer weather :>)than the 'Ice Age' Life would have been hard :>(

  • A better place to swim if this happens. Yes!!! Global warming, I'm all for it. Too many cold places in this world now as it is. I hate when it is cold.

  • Yes, until massive numbers of crops fail because the rainfall patterns have changed.

Google Australia drought. Google American south drought

Also, if the Arctic sea ice melts, it will speed the melting of the Greenland Ice Sheet.

  • Just an FYI: drought happens all the time..regardless of global warming. You can not blame all droughts on global warming.

  • HAHAHA!!!

  • It could be happen in 2020 or 2030 and not for 2050 !

  • @Pyxmalion Ironic this video was made in 2006, a year before the worst on record (by several standard diviations)

  • that doesnt look too good

  • Our children's children are going to live in a sad word indeed.

  • It won't be our children but us.

  • all those sea ice will transfer to the tropics, though some would prefer to emigrate to the sahara :P

  • And one of the best places to live at that time would be around Western Pennsylvania over to Indinia.

  • I dont belive anything like this will ever happen - its just another media stunt - we have tyed to have weather like this before - the porblem is only that now can we follow the news and weather all over the planet by blinking our eyes

  • I agree with you. I just do not believe we can realistically see that many years into the future. I mean if we can't even get 7-day forecasts and CPC monthly climate predictions right, then how can we expect to get climate predictions for 20+ years out right? Doesn't seem possible.

  • Dont know about where you are, but Australian residents have been recieving 7-day forecasts and 30-day rainfall outlooks for some time now.

  • You don't know the difference between weather and climate. Weather is unpredictable, but climate CAN be predicted.

I personally can easily predict something about the climate in North America in 10000 years: I predict that it will be warmer in the summer than it is in the winter.

  • bullshit....
