Some of you are IDIOTS!! No WAY the vette cold compete with the V8 powered 280Z .I beat a C5 Vette Coupe twice from a Dead Stop and from a 40 mph roll up tp 120 mph. I was smart enough to quit after that cause I knew the C5 aerodynamics would win. I have a stroked L6 motor running SU's and it has turned a12.804 @ 107.26 mph on street tires. Z's are LIGHT!! And Light makes Might!
It wouldn't matter if he raced a ZO6. The outcome wouldn't have been any different. Even a C6 ZO6 wouldn't have walked him...at best it would have kept up.
What you two fail miserably to realize is that 280z weighs about 2550 lbs.
LS6 6.0=400HP. LS6 in 280z = 1:6.38 power to weight.
C6 ZO6 = 3175 lbs. 505 hp = 1:6.29 power to weight. About the same as the 280. So theoreticall it will keep up but not walk it. Any lesser vette will get walked by the 280.
@RMBmike You're pretty ignorant. Gearing, traction, aerodynamics, and powerband all have a hell of a lot to do with how a car runs. He beat a C5 Corvette convertible... that's the heaviest and slowest C5 possible. A C5 Z06 would have kept up and a C6 Z06 would have dragged his ass down the highway. With tuning and a proper setup the outcome could change but based on this video you're wrong.

Displacement != block size. Displacement is piston area x # of pistons x sweep of the pistons
