  • Makes me wanna run outside and just DO something, or acheive a dream.

  • I don't know why, but this song has become my inspiration from the very first time I heard this....

It has inspired me to go for my dreams no matter how impossible they are...

  • One of my favorites. Well, the whole freaking soundtrack to this masterpiece is my favorite.

But this ost is still amazing.

  • there was a fly next to my comp, and when the song got to 1:30, it started spazzing lol

  • I'm really in live with this song!!<3

  • this is overwhelming....

  • ahh just imagine this song is in Final Fantasy.

    gahhhh

  • i raped the replay button ^_^x

  • I can fly! :D

  • I literally cried when I found this song!

I loved that movie so much!

    GJ!

  • This song makes me feel like I'm soaring in the sky, over the sea, like a bird as the sun rises. I feel ever free with this combination of sky and sea, as the title proposes...

  • Too bad it ends so sadly.

  • This song is like a burst of realization in your own world. :)

  • @MrEmo412 well said ;')

  • @erikatay92

    Thank you :)

  • Wishful Thinking. :(

  • This song sounds... hopeful.

  • This show reminds me of Serendipity in feel and atmosphere minus the good ending. This wins for the awesome soundtrack though.

  • The closest thing to 5 cm/s that Hollywood has ever made is 500 Days Of Summer.

    And it's good.

  • @aquapendulum Oh...I didn't think of that. But, 500 Days of Summer is an independent film haha. I'm not sure Hollywood will make a film with this kind of atmosphere or message at the point it's at right now @.@

  • @aquapendulum I just watched it, because of your comment, it's now one of my favourites. =]

  • @aquapendulum I agree

  • @aquapendulum wasn't "The notebook pretty emotional aswell?

  • @aquapendulum Wow... I never saw that movie... But I tend to have very harsh criticisms for movies. So I know a good movie when I see one even if it is a small part or even a summary. Well I read the Wikipedia entry on the movie and well how should I put it.... it's brilliant. Rarely has a movie this well been made. In fact that is why I watch anime, because the quality is just so much better. I loved the ending with Autumn. Truly symbolized moving on, just like in 5cm per second.

  • @ApepItsirk33 Well, damn, go ahead and watch it then. Oh and Amagami SS, the premise of that whole show is about picking up where 5cm/s and 500DoS left off with.

  • The whole second part reminds me of a realization I came across in my own life. My friend was trying to set me up with a date for a winter dance, but I didn't really know any of her suggestions. She mentioned someone I sort of knew, so I said I could maybe ask him... of course, I'm a socially awkward person when it comes to talking to guys, so it didn't exactly happen right away. As I talked to him more, I realized we had a lot of common interests, and more importantly I realized he was a really

  • @JewelrNC16 fun and sweet guy. I started to really like him. When I did eventually ask him, he told me he'd check his calender. It took him a week to reply- I probably should have taken that as a sign- but when he did reply, he said he could go. I was too happy to be bothered with the week thing. And then, with me being the socially awkward person I am, I tried to be too much of me all at once. It was like I was trying to force him to see everything about me in a short period of time. I tried

  • @JewelrNC16 laughing more when I was around him, because I wanted him to like my smile. In the end, too much of me, wasn't me. I wasn't being myself, and that was probably the worst thing I could have done. It came to the point where I had to message him that I liked him, even though I would rather say it face to face. I just never got to see him anymore because I was in the musical and such. When he replied, he said he only liked me as a friend. It was the best thing he could have said to

  • @JewelrNC16 me. All at once, a heavy weight was lifted from my heart, and the fog left my brain. He liked me as a friend. I could be myself around him and not worry about if I had done something that might make him grimace. That was enough. In the end, it was just a crush- and even though there were moments of pure joy for me and complete saddness, I learned more from it than I ever thought I would. lol, sorry for the novel... it felt kinda good to write my self-reflection though haha

  • Song makes me want to run...run fast on a large grass field... :D

  • easily the best movie i have ever watched.

it's happy, mad, lonely, depressed. most of the feelings people feel are in this movie.

it's just so real and beautiful. and so sad to know that events in the movie rally happen in real life.

  • why do people prefer to watch twilight rather than something like this?

  • I love you. Dork. <3

  • now I know! the beginning of this song reminds me of the music in mary&max :)

    I love both movies <3

    and their music <3

  • The first 15 seconds kind of reminds me of Clannad

  • Does anyone know where I can get a hard copy of the soundtrack of 5CPS? I have the audio files but I need this in my car!

  • 0 dislikes ;)

    there is a god

  • this is sooo beautiful the soundtrack for 5 centimeters per second is the best ive ever heard

  • What part did this play at! D:

  • i wanna ask the producer or the guy who came up with the story what the story means to him/her. i feel like there's a lot of discrete and small things that happened in the movie that hold a lot of value. i wanna know more!

  • I think this is the best of the best for a song<2mins =D

  • 0:31 - That nostalgic has been carved into my mind.

  • Feels like your in an open field riding a bicycle with the love of your life ;)

  • Does anyone by chance have the music sheet/score for this piece of magnificent music? Mind sharing....? Cause I REALLY would love to learn how to play this song! Please provide a link ^^

  • Can you feel the wind rushing past you, the sound and smell of the salty sea beneath your wet feet? The fleeting sadness and overwhelming hope fill your heart? Can you see the bright blue sky above you? Off in the distance, can you see her? Smiling with her soft lips that you once kissed? -- that's what this song asks me whenever I listen to it.

  • And than they claim that Japanese don't have souls.... o.O

  • @Naitomango666 uhm... Who exactly claims that?

  • I cant wait for his new movie =) i hope it touches my heart as much as this movie and the place promised in our early days did

  • I remember this piece with Sumida looking at the horizon..then she goes to ride some waves and conjure some guts to try toconvey her true feelings for Tono..gotta love it.

  • 映画のシーンを思い出して鳥肌が立つ

  • This is my absolute favorite piece, it feels hopeful, joyful, and happy, I love it, and this piece isn't another version of one more time, one more chance lol

  • Beautiful!!!

  • this song was so amazing, it gave me goose bumps. all the colors of the rainbow, and the universe in motion all around you.:]

  • the beginning sounds like a classical masterpiece.... which is it??

  • AHH. Where's the sheet music for this, if possible? > <;;

  • @xXshimmylilypuffsXx

I would like to know too!

  • Just watched the movie yesterday so yeah, best romance anime i ever watch. Very touching and sad. I must say that this is a must watch anime movie.

  • It doesn't get any better than this.

  • does anyone have the sheet for this? cant find it anywhere.

  • @exploitedchaos

google "byousoku 5 centimeter piano sheets" 3rd page

  • aw kanae. seriously love her. I regocnised so much of myself in her ^^

  • This theme reminds me of Kanae :)

  • beautiful T_T

  • the sheet music to this is so hard ;__;

  • i know im a bit slow. but what move/anime is this and what is it actually about?

  • @ionsel well it's called 5 centimeters per second, if you want to find what its about i advise you to just watch the movie ;)

  • everybody who watched the anime or in love with the soundtracks are very imaginative. we see scenes, we feel something. it is like we are being connected somehow.

  • Hmm...well, in my opinion, this song suggests me the time when I die and probably go to Heaven. Then, I will see my family, old friends and all the people I love waiting for me.

It's a nice feeling, satisfying, sort of.

  • You're are destinated to burn in Hell!

Really nice song, pretty beautiful and emotional.

  • So are you, my friend.

    So are you...

  • I get the chills EVERY time I listen to this song. Absoutley amazing.

  • This track was my favorite from the movie other than the ending song. When this song played as Kanae surfed under the sun, I thought the setting for the song in the movie and the song's title was just so fitting and brilliant!

  • i never watched the girl who leaped through time..i think i will if they have it on youtube. atleast the trailer. if i like it, ill maybe get the dvd. :D this song...its like u can feel nature around u. everything just comes alive in every way u can think of. so much love pureness, and soul. its like hope just strucks u like a lighning bolt. wonderful; -claps-

  • My God...I'm on cloud nine

  • ur soo right this song is like a little piece of heaven...

  • omg you can feel the sky, the wind and you can even see the sea with this song.

  • beautiful

  • i enjoyed 'the girl who leaped trough time. But 5 centimeters per second touched me deeper, so i think it's better.

  • well is much more realistic then the girl who leaped through time. It is easier to relate to.

  • I watched both movies this week. They are both great, but i also think 5 cm/s is the deeper and better one.

  • Great soundtrack! The movie itself is also a beautiful artwork! It's my favourite movie! =D

  • you know which movie good is =D?

The girl who leapt through time =O

Such a beautifull and best animated movie

  • the girl who leapt through time and this movie is both great i like them both

  • this is beautiful... its amazing! (:

  • This song for some reason just gives me hope O_o; lots of it

  • this track reminds me of the ending of R&J ...

  • ohhh i want to buy the soundtrack

  • this music makes me happy, it's like am dancing to this music in the middle of a green field looking at a very bright blue sky with birds flying higher and higher... so motivating, one of my favourites of all time :D

  • I feel the same :D

  • i love this song, it's the single happy feeling song on the album. very beautiful.

  • I always think why can't the US make films like this?

  • they do, its just not as popular. look for independant movies

  • @ultimateearner because they are bound to retarded plots.

  • @ultimateearner cuz they dont have the epic skill like japan :P

  • @ultimateearner Cuz we a bunch o inbred hill billys on over here, hyuk! Basicly we suck at thinking and thinking is required for good entertainment.

  • @irockdudeoo7

Nothing to do with it imo. It's about money. And the foothold for anime is not as large as people think in the US. No one wants to take the chance to make a serious animated film at the risk of doing it at a loss of profit.

  • lol i was being sarcastic. Our forms of entertainment are different, and "good" is in the eye of the beholder. some people might hate this in japan, while others love it here, vice versa..and yea america is obsessed with money..

  • @irockdudeoo7

I figured, but a lot people actually think like that. But again, it's just because of risk and reward. Studio's are hesitant to change what works until what works does not work anymore. Make sense lol?

  • @ultimateearner

Because they make "good" films like WALL-E

    LOL

  • @BurningArrowPictures Once. Does America make GOOD films. Once, every 5-10 years. Lol

  • @ultimateearner Because. We're too dumb.

  • @ultimateearner Because all we want to do here in the US is hit fame. And not show a true poiental film with emotions not just oh yeah.. Check it out A famous person is playing a major role in a film or somethinglike that. I think not sure. But its a good gues haha

  • @ultimateearner the US is... i cant really explain it i guess. but the japanese are very talented people, very deep people, at least the people who make anime and manga are, idk about anything else cuz i dont pay much attention to it.... lol

  • @ultimateearner Because US only care about their marketing industry and making money out of movie so directors are blinded by their greed. While Japan movie flourish their movie with their heart content regardless wither they make money or not.

  • @ultimateearner because there not japan :P

  • I really like this movie, it made me really think at the end and I couldn't help but feel sad for Takaki.

I'm really glad that the music is so nice because it really adds to the beauty of the film.

I can't help but get an indescribable feeling whenever I listen to this soundtrack, it truly is great. <3

  • Oh, thank you for uploading the soundtrack. ^^

  • I know it's a sad ending but it's captivating isn't it? It's the type of ending which occupies your mind, leaves an impression and echoes reality! I much perfer it to be like this no matter how much it makes me sad. It more realistic. XDDDDD

  • very well said. =))

  • Remembers me of Shinkai Makotos "The Place Promised In Our Early Days" ...

  • it does... but that movie had a happy ending :D

  • Jesus lord, this music is motivational to me.

  • correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the only soundtrack that isn't reused in this movie...the other ones are all the variation of the end theme/one more time (still very well done though)

  • you are correct. that's actually one of the reasons why this is my favorite song of the soundtrack.

  • @niulicious Yep... It's Actually Much More Dramatic And Beautiful... Thanks For Sharing... :)

  • if anyone finds a .mid file of this song could you msg it to me?

  • ahh lol theres an orch in the background haha. dude that was good

  • I love this song so much

  • This piece actually reminds me of the Olympics.

  • how ... gorgeous I think ... ^^

  • i really wish he made a different ending DX

  • I like this song. It's like a nice warm sunny day, the wind blowing softly in your face and blowing your hair gently but not in the anoying way, the grass waveing in the wind, sitting under a tree reading a great book or manga but not realy paying atention to it because of the serenity of it all^^thankyou for posting this and yes i agree this would be an awsome song to wake up to insteed of a radio makes you feel happy^^

  • hahaha i love this song. =)

  • i really like this song...

  • My favorite scene.

  • Sorry, I was not specific there. By favorite scene, I meant this was my favorite part in the film when Kanae finally stood on her surfboard.

Tenmon has the best music, bless him.

  • I never noticed till now that most of the pieces in this movie were just remixes of the Ending or One More Chance/One More Time pieces. But this one really stands out well, and for good reasons.

  • That is true, but each time it[insert one of the songs mentioned]was remixed it had a different feel that fit the situation. In this case, repetition wasn't such a bad thing in my opinion.

  • This is probably one of the best pieces of music in the entire movie. The scenes where they play this are also well chosen. When you watch it you can't help but feel the same hope and energy as Kanae.

  • This is music to wake up by. Something to tell you that the day is new and full of potential.

  • yea it does. If i could wake up to this i dont think i would have any bad days.

  • hahah i soo agree. my days would be peaceful and happy. ohhh. if only i can wake up to this, that means i wont ever wake up again. xP

  • I think this is one of the most uplifting pieces of music I've ever heard. It really just does sound like the boundless sky.

  • I agree... When I close my eyes, it's like im floating between clouds and birds, with the sun looking down on me. Beautiful.

  • i love the start of this piece the most.

  • yeh. this is my personal favorite.

  • @niulicious yes, the beginning so intense.
