  • thank you <3

  • Awesome job!

  • FYI for study purposes- according to my bio book the submandibular and sublingual salivary glands are innervated by the facial nerve in the parasympathetic motor function. Everything else seems spot on.

This is great for study purposes- thank you!!!

  • awesome!!! great voice too!

  • Hope that helps people!! I wasn't 100% sure on some of the words, but it's pretty close =]

  • Verse 1 Thus must be the skin And I’m cutting in Dense connective tissue, now we’re sayin Ap-o-neuro-ti-ca Then loose connective tissue Pericranium, Now it’s a meningial issue We have the tough dura mata And the arachnoid we wick We have the pia mater, Just a few cells thick I know we’re doing the brain But it’s good to check And never forget the muscles of the neck Chorus
  • Verse 2 We have the calvarium With its three fossae Nerves that exits from the openings and branch on the way The olfactory nerve In the cribriform plate Of the ethmoid bone that keeps you smelling straight The optic nerve goes through the optic canal You should remember that because it’s SOBER? Now Nerves three four and six They help your eyes do tricks Superior orbital fissure is where each of them sticks Trigeminal nerve Has three parts I’m sure
  • Ophthalmic branch through the superior orbital fissure Foramen rotundum For branch maxillary And last mandibular branch through foramen ovale Before the facial nerve We have to hold our place And remember, don’t forget The muscles of the face Chorus Verse 3 And now the facial nerve Both motor and sensory Innervates the facial muscles and glands salivary It shares the acoustic canal With the vestibulocochlear nerve That one’s not SOBER? Now The attention it deserves Glossopharyngeal nerve
  • Through jugular foramen Controls pharyngeal muscles and helps salivation The big Vagus nerve It helps you sing this song It goes down to most the organs Yeah it’s pretty long Spinal accessory It lets you turn your head And look before you cross Or you might be dead Hypoglossal nerve Special canal it needs It lets you tongue dance around Oh how delightful indeed Now we have come to the end But before we go no doubt We have to cover them up So that they don’t dry out Chorus

  • i'm obsessed with this song......

  • Am I crazy or was the Abducens Nerve missing from the song???

  • @TapOutLatina "Nerves III, IV, and VI; they make your eyes do tricks. Superior orbital fissure is where each of them stick." Abducens is CN VI.

  • ...you win. this made me happy! :D

  • yeah, can you make a lyrics for this?

I'll be jamming out during my next test :)

  • mighty mitosis : another mneumonic below

    anxiously anaphas-ing

    telephones telophase

  • Actually Melody, Gus does not say that the facial nerve (VII) innervates the parotid gland - he just said it innervates salivary glands which is correct as it innervates the submandibular and sublingual glands. Later in the song he mentions that the glossopharyngeal nerve (IX) "helps salivation" which it does as you stated correctly via the parotid gland.

  • This video is superb! Only one thing could make it better, that would be closed captioning so we could read as we watch and listened! This guy is really talented A++

  • Great job! Love this song!

  • this is awesome, can someone post the lyrics to it?

  • Hey, this is just for the people using this for study purposes.

I'm pretty sure that for parasympathetic innervation, the parotid salivary gland is innervated by the glossopharyngeal nerve rather than the facial nerve.

  • He was referring to the fact that the facial nerve by way of the chorda tympani provides parasympathetic innervation to the sublingual and submandimular glands...he never said the parotid gland is innervated by the facial if you listen closely...so he actually sung it correctly.

  • REST of THIRD and ENDING spinal accessory it lets you turn your head and look before you cross or you might be dead hypoglossal nerve special canal it needs it lets your tongue dance around (can't make it out)

now we've come to the end but before we go no doubt we have to color the muscles so they don't dry out don't let the muscles dry glycerine glycerine glycerine glycerine glycerine

  • chorus then THIRD the facial nerve both motor and sensory innervates the facial muscles and glands salivary. It shares the acoustic canal with the vestibularcochlear nerve that one's no so banal attention it deserves Glossopharyngeal nerve through jugular foramen controls pharyngeal muscles and helps salivation The big vagus nerve it helps you sing this song goes down to most the organs yeah it's pretty long

  • SECOND CONTINUED trigeminal nerve has three parts i'm sure opthalmic branch through superior orbital fissure foramen rotundun for branch maxillary and last mandibular branch though foramen ovale before the facial nerve we have to hold our place remember don't forget the muscles of the face (note 3 is oculomotor 4 is trochlear 6 is abducens)

  • SECOND we have the kilverian with its prefossae nerves that exit from the openings and branch on the way the olfactory nerve in the cribiform plate of the ethmoid bone it keeps you smelling straight the optic nerve goes through the optic canal you should remember that because it's so banal nerves 3 4 and 6 they help your eyes do tricks through your orbital fissure is where each of them sticks

  • FIRST (don't bug me about spelling or mistakes) This must be the skin and I'm cutting in dense connective tissue now where's the in aponeurotica? The Loose connective tissue pericranium now it's meningal issue we have the tough dura mater arachnoid we wick the pia mater just a few cells thick I know we're doing the brain but it's good to check don't ever forget the muscles of the neck don't let the muscles dry glycerine glycerine
