This is my favorite level here!!!! I will be strictly honest when I say that the Death Incarnate level was extremely difficult for me to pass, but with more practice (and help from the hint book lol), I passed it!!!! I actually like it when Ubermutant chases me all over this level lol. I love hearing the guards with various screaming when they're being shot down, "AYEEEEEEEEEE!!!" "ARGH!!!" lol. The blue guards make me laugh "MEIN LEBEN!!!" Thank you so much for this awesome upload!!! Faved!!!

Wolfenstein is so much harder than Doom.

Back when I had it for DOS I never beat the original past when you kill Hitler.

I beat this though. Really hard game. I beat the SNES version too, which is a mix of the first one and this.

I still have Spear of Destiny but I don't have the password you need to install it anymore. :(

I still have the SNES version and the near perfect gameboy version. This makes me want to play them lol.

Also have Rise of The Triad. Wolfenstein on crack.

I think this is probably the hardest level in the game. I always find it is harder to kill all the regular soldiers rather than the boss. It is rather easy to kill.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that he's carrying something like meat clevers rather than knifes... and he doesn't trow them at you, but attack with them to hurt you when close enough.

Well, maybe it's the emulator's setting? You can set it in DooM 2 aswell, even the soundcard would be able to play multiple sounds at once. Go the DooM/2 setup.exe, set up your soundcard (SFX) to "1 channel". It has the same effect. The music is played back with the synthesizer of the card - this are two different things and indepent of each other.

I'LL NEVER FORGET THE FIRST TIME I PLAYED THIS LEVEL! I had all but ran out of ammunition and had fired my last shots at the Ubermutant and he was basically chasing me through the entire level while I was hunting for bullets!

I didn't find any and he got me cornered!

What happened next makes me laugh even to this day! I ran after him with the knife AND IT KILLED HIM!

Me and my nephew were laughing so friggin hard!

The Shareware version of both Spear of Destiny and Wolfenstein 3D is still widely available. I run them (and their editors) in Windows XP under DOSBox with D.O.G. on top.

Oh, God, I remember this. Easily the hardest map in the entire Wolfenstein series. Would anyone else agree with me that Spear of Destiny is much better than the original Wolfenstein 3D? There were a lot of really sloppy, short, poorly thought-out, or just plain weird maps in Wolf 3D, but every map in SoD was at least good, and most were great.

I made the mistake of underestimating this level. I had a lot of bullets from the previous one, but soon found myself out of lead.

And I made the TERRIBLE mistake of QuickSaving RIGHT in front of 2 SS, at like 1% Health, and no ammo (thank you bad relfex). Took me a good 60 QuickLoads to get out of that mess and kick some Uber butt.

There were two levels in the SOD that were hard as hell. This one and the lvl 20 (I think) boss, when you needed to get out of the room to live. Anyway, this level was harder and it took me countless times to get anywhere. Of course I knew none of the hidden doors leading to goodies, so I had to save and load instead. A lot of times.

So, here it is again: you really kick ass. Congrats!

I'd love to see someone play on death incarnate the death knight lvl of spear of destiny; which is lvl 18 obivously; and for that person to find it easy. Right when you leave the first room, you are surrounded by guys and the boss right in the middle, you pretty much have to quickly pick a side when entering the room and quickly kill the guys and leave to kill the guys on the whole area around outside of the main room.

Man that level was scary for me at that time. I never want to play that level in pitch dark. The Ubermutant was the toughest to deal with, plus he runs so fast. That really scared me for sure. He's clever in going around to see where the player will go next, and then when you come around to corner or even open the door, SURPRISE! I almost got a heart attack.

Yep. A lot of bosses on this level. Trans Grosse, relatives of Hans and Gretel. Barnacle Wilhmer, Ubermutant, Death Knight, and the Angel of death. I defeated them in the hard difficulty even with a lot of bad guys to shoot.
