Yes, they ARE hurting their own sales. It's happened quite often to me that I found some music here on youtube that I hadn't known before. And liked it so much I actually did buy the CD. E.g. Sweeney Todd here. At first, I didn't really like the songs all THAT much. Then I started listening to them here on Youtube. And eventually, fell so in love with them I bought the CD. So - there you go. I only listen to them here on Youtube now cos I'm at work and can't take all my CDs with me, can I?
