  • There is in fact no evidence what so ever as to the existence of dark matter or energy. We look for it since it would fit the model of the universe at present. But maybe the model is wrong. There are much stronger forces in nature than gravity, for instance electromagnetism. The mathematics of relativity is man-made, to discern nature from math rather than the other way around is just producing the quote "humanum errare est". See sciencedaily "Magnetic Fields Set Stage for Birth of New Stars".

  • I thought red shift and blue shift were based on the speed and direction objects were moving. The Doppler effect.

  • Thanks much! I have read a lot on this subject, and as far as I understand things, I agree with you. I wish you had more online material on this. People should look into logical fallacies, especially "appeal to authority".

  • In fact we don't get much from telescopes, the picture is flat. Then kicks in mathematical dumbness. Let's wait for the BB theory to go, because this is what theories do.

  • Big news on plasma style cosmology. Read article on daily science; Magnetic Fields Set Stage for Birth of New Stars published Nov. 16, 2011

  • velocity-induced redshift are not just a suggestion from faraway galaxies and is not a "discovery" of Hubble. Its physically explainable as a dobbler-shift, similar to the one you would experience with soundwaves when an ambulance drives by with great speed. Just with redshift we are working with lightwaves and not sound waves and the speeds involved is much greater than the speed of a car. You don't even have to study astronomy to know about this nature of light.

  • Mathematicians have ruined science. It all started with gravity. Making gravity the primary mover of the universe, even though it is 1000 billion billion billion billion times weaker than electromagnetism is quite fallacious. We made "gravity centric" model because it pulls us to the ground. It's quite egocentric to put our own experiences as the prime movers of the ENTIRE UNIVERSE!

  • @wavyinfinity I more believe in the theory that science was ruined by a sinister communion of "morons, low funding, low levels of education and religious fanatics". I even think I have the proofs... :)

  • Don't hurt youself Bubba, there's hay to be baled yet this month! How can you get red shift wrong???? Speed Bubba not distance!

  • @NotaChewToy as you know distance correlates to the recessional speed; redshift is used to calculate distance

  • Wow you people are crazy!

  • Once people realize we live in an electric universe and we have been enslaved to power providers who have been preying on our ignorance, the sooner the truth will be known to all. ELEnin is going to energize the earth with EM around september 25, 2011, the strong EM polarity of the comet will cause the Earth to point its positive axis, south pole, toward the sun.The earth will stay here until it is flipped again around November 21, 2011. People up north will be flash frozen.

  • @AllwaysInstigating Ok, seeing as none of that has happened yet, any explanation on why it hasn't?

  • Do you actually have the faintest idea what you are talking about? I think not. Is your primary motivation the "billions of tax dollars" that would be "saved" by spending them on "science" of which you approve?

  • Quacakdemia is wrong about almost every guess they have coughed up!

  • I can't wait for the day the Plasma physicists get as much funding as the Big bangers and when they use their knowledge and intelligence to work together.

Any "scientist" who's not willing to try out a new idea you shouldn't be able to call themselves a scientist at all. Science used to be about discovery.

Observation, leading to theory, tested through experiments and THEN a mathematical equation to verify it. Not the other way around as it is today.

  • @niminiminimnim one word for you: ITER

  • @niminiminimnim

"Plasma physicists get as much funding as the Big bangers"

They could, if they would first provide a model that does not get contradicted by almost every observation out there. Simply picking and choosing the bits that SEEM to fit is not doing science.

  • Wasting Billions of tax dollars? Nasa has produced TONS of technology the private market couldn't afford to research.

  • your spectrum is backwards

  • Why is this from 2010 and I'm just finding out about this now? Cosmology makes me question everything in space. Half of it doesn't make any sense at all. It's a shame Youtube is the only source for alternative theories.

  • Good vids. Recently, while being in Europe I got to talk to my friend's dad who's a PhD physicist working with many institutes around the world and to my shock he confirmed many things you're talking about. It's basically mixture of ego and conformity and also lack of jobs after the end of the cold war both in west and east in science. No wonder they are closing down Batavia IL accelerator this year - looking for higgs and gluons for 20years with no results. I'm all 4 science but the real one.

  • I wish we could all agree that religion ≠ creationism ≠ pseudo-science ≠ science. You can be religious and scientific at the same time without any conflict, but it does take an open mind and some deep reflection not to delve into pseudo-science or faith.

  • @bertsierra no you cant, quit being full of shit.

  • It's a sad day when one feels compelled to make a point about denying he is a Creationist simply because he does not subscribe to The Big Bang Theory or the gravity hypothesis. Are reasonable alternate hypotheses that hard to imagine outside of mysticism? Grrrr.

  • The light emitted is not from the black hole itself but from matter compressed by the black hole causing an emission of electromagnetic radiation (or Light).

  • @xixaruh Not from what I learned in GR? Supposedly the plasma surrounding the hole develops a current, for which they postulate electron pair production at the event horizon! Ugh. This is quite silly when regular old space plasma will illuminate like this because it is electrified and thus develops a current. Just ask Hannes Alfven.

  • Yeah, the universe "could" be made out of 95% dark matter and energy, and I "could" be the reincarnated love child of Thomas Jefferson.

  • @suedeslounge while we physicists have good evidence to suggest that dark energy exists (and thus dark matter does) you have none of being the ... whatever child of Tomas Jefferson...

  • They "could be" wrong. 'Could be' being the operative phrase.
